Wasn't expecting to like Orange Is The New Black as much as I did because I didn't have any luck with Hemlock Grove or House of Cards but this series is easily the strongest out of the bunch. It's bitingly hilarious and witty. It's often touching and sentimental but it doesn't forget its sense of humor. Orange Is The New Black has such a lovely, diverse, and unique cast of characters that have drawn me in and have made me fall in love with them. Haven't encountered a character as funny and refreshing as Taystee in quite sometime but she is incredibly hilarious. It's pleasant to see a cast of predominantly women of color who are being heard and their stories being told. They aren't stereotypical and are such a refreshing bunch of characters to watch. They've also found a way to show a positive and varied representation of members of the queer community. It's one of the few series that has handled a transexual character with such class and respect because Sohpita is lovely. Enjoying the difficulty and tension between both Alex and Piper because their is such depth in their relationship.
