Judging from the shot at the end (the cute actor in revealing clothes and heels and Jolin in a suit), I'm guessing it's something about double standards? Or something along the lines of gender roles in the industry...? Or how women and men are perceived in society......? I don't know, the lyrics probably explain it, can someone explain? According to the original synopsis, the guy is an average American who comes to New York to achieve his dream. Jolin is holding dance auditions and he goes there. He starts to warm up and feeling more relaxed, he starts to strip, put makeup on and stuff and embrace his feminine side, which is basically his inner/true self. And Jolin is moved and cannot help but applause him at the end. Jolin was dressed as a "man" because she was supposed to portray her masculine side (they thickened her eyebrows as well or something). So yeah it's about the duality existing in every human being.
