G.E.M. Tang who has recently risen to the title "Global Singer" was extremely late to both the Metro Awards Ceremony and the awards celebration dinner held yesterday. She aroused even more resentment with her arrogance. Even though she argued that she rushed "as fast as possible," she still caused more senior singers such as Andy Hui, Hins Cheung and Kay Tse to wait 45 minutes for her to arrive, to which Andy and Hins both voiced their comments. Yet it turns out that G.E.M's so-called rushing as fast as possible was actually her rushing to take photos of her herself and her awards to post online. No wonder everyone was vocal with their displeasure and complaints.

Last night, the "Music World Metro Music Awards 2014" was held at the Hong Kong Convention. The ceremony specially accommodated and saved a center seat for G.E.M who was returning from a show in Macao, and only appeared near the end of the ceremony. The awards ceremony went until 12:30am and most of the audience had already left by that time. Afterwards, a group of singers including Andy Hui, Hins Cheung and Kay Tse rushed to Kowloon to take part in the awards celebration dinner scheduled for 1:00am. However G.E.M. did not arrive at the celebration dinner until 1:45am, making everyone wait 45 minutes for her to arrive to take a group photo.

Offers a cookie as an apology
Regarding making everyone wait for her at both venues, G.E.M explained that she already used the fastest way to get back to Hong Kong and as soon as the awards ceremony ended, she rushed to the celebration dinner. When she found out that she was 45 minutes late to the celebration dinner versus all the other artists, she acted like she didn't know and asked staff members: "Really? Why were we later? After I got off stage, I returned to the room and gathered my makeup, then gathered my things to go, sorry!" She then cookies as an apology. However, G.E.M overlooked something important, forgetting that she posted photos online showing herself backstage with her awards. When she posted the photo online (1:07am), all the other singers were at the celebration dinner venue waiting for her to arrive.

Promoted by Metro Radio to be the big winner among the female singers, G.E.M unexpectedly said, "I did not release any songs this year, it was very unexpected that I won today." When reporters asked how she could win 4 awards even if she had no songs, G.E.M said that you would have to ask Metro Radio's director Zhu Ming Rui and that he strongly supports her, with all her cover songs ranking on the charts.

Lets see. She had a concert on the same night but still came to the award show after to accept the award in person when many other singers would have just done a video message or nothing at all. Then she still turned up for the dinner afterwards when she could have just left and gone home to rest. I think they should thank her for being there in the first place.
