SBS Running Man 런닝맨 Thread - Don't Walk, RUN!

I read somewhere that they are still trying to get Hodong to join. I will love to see him joining as I am a fan of him too. Also getting Hodong to join will be able to boost the rating because I am sure Knetzs will watch to see the return of the legendary duos of Yoo Jae Suk and Hodong from the days of Xmen together again. And also, Hodong is friend with the like of Haha and Kim Jongkook from the days of Xmen as well.

Yea! We might be the few people who actually wouldnt disapprove Hodong joining RM. What about a rotating 7th MC. The 7th could be rotating every month. Just to spice it up a bit. RM has definitely become stale.

Also, someone wrote that RM lost it identity by having too many random games/mission. I agree! Without an identity and a red line it becomes confusing. Especially for new viewers. This was the reason why it was so difficult for me to follow MuDo in the beginning. I had now idea what the show was about because each episode was so different from each other. For RM, I loved it immediately.

Runningman should've just ended with 340

because episode 341 was Terrible

moving is never fun, and make me watch that crap on tv

goodjob on the members for trying

but I felt that this episode was just the producers punishing the members

so here's to the hope that 342 will actually be something worth watching all the way through

Havent watched it yet but I think RM should have a 1-2 months break to come up with new ideas. They should add (Not replace) 1 more member to change the dynamics a bit. If MuDo can, then so can RM. MuDo is still super funny. RM stopped being funny to me long time ago.

RM used to be my go-to show. Now I havent watched and completed any of the recent episodes. I dont want the show to stop, but I want RM to take a month or two break. They need some breathing room and re-invent itself.

Whoa!! I loved the recent episode. So much fun! Is RM getting its mojo back?

Although I was a bit sceptical at first, the new members did a great job. Yang Se Chan is funny and much less annoying than his brother.

just watched the latest episode and even though the screentime was obviously off balance I really enjoyed it, felt like running man was back on track again

Yes!!

RM is definitely back on track! The 2 episodes with the new members were great. I didnt watch the 3-4 episodes before the new members joined. Are they worth watching?

I watched 15 minutes and got bored.

honestly i didn't watch the episodes from the beginning of members week to the week before yoon park came (except Gary's episode :P)! the episode with yoon park and sandara was pretty ok in my opinion haha.

Didnt watch all the episodes of members week either.

Anyone know the ratings for the last two episodes?

1. I seriously do not like the way the PDs have been forcibly splitting up the episodes over two weeks. Like, having the first half of the episode be the ending from last week's episode, then start a new theme with new guests in the middle of the episode just to have it continue in next week's episode. I hope what they did for the last two episode & next week's episode was an exception and won't become the norm. Coherent two-parters that fill two whole episodes are one thing, but his... nah, man. This doesn't work as some sort of "cliffhanger" for me, it's just hella annoying, imo.

2. That blatant Samsung ad they basically wasted time on filming/showing during the last quarter of the show was too clunky, obvious and annoying. It was "Happy Together 'let's ask an intelligent personal assistant to do something out of the blue in the middle of our interview' product placement"-level bad. I get that they need to earn money to keep the show going, but this has to become a lot smoother. Heck, completely stopping the show and airing a 5 minute Samsung ad would have been smoother than what the PDs did in this episode.

3. The utterly forced loveline between Hyolin & KJK is hella annoying. I hope the PDs got most of it out of their systems in this week's episode and won't overdo it as much in next week's continuation, or I might just skip their parts completely. What is it with Korean PDs (or especially RM PDs) that the only use they seem to have for female guests/members is as objects of male members' affection? Like, this shit has been getting old a while ago.

Yea I agree with everything! That Samsung ad made me laugh so hard. It was such an obvious product placement. I immediately started to think about the episode where JYP was a guest. They did the same thing but with an LG phone [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

But I have a good feeling overall about RM's future. It's fun to watch again. Now I actually look forward for every episode.

Anyone know the rating for the recent ep?

Actually the past couples of episodes been good for me. Maybe because I enjoy seeing other country's culture too. The two new members been great for me. Yang Sechan the new icon of bad luck and Jeon Somin, I been falling for her charms.

Yea! I loved the last 2 episodes. The new members also affected the group dynamic a bit, which I think was really needed.

RM has been saved!

If Muhan Dojeon can still be funny after 10+ years, then so can RM.

The latest episode was so fun!! So many funny moments and the energy the members give off. I really like the new members and the group dynamic.

So happy that RM is back on track.

Something that i've been thinking about is why is MuDo (Infinity Challenge) not as big as Running Man among international fans?

What are your theories?

My theory is that RM is a much simpler show (I dont mean in a bad way). Each episode is about completing missions. Thats easy to understand for non-Koreans.

MuDo is so much more different. It's difficult to understand what MuDo is about if you are new. RM is straight forward, easy to understand.

What do you think?

I think it's mostly because RM has always invited guests, especially idol guests that are popular with international k-pop fans, and MuDo mostly relies on the core team of MCs and only ever so often invites guests for some episodes. So, a lot of international k-pop fans naturally gravitated towards RM to see their stars in action and became fans of the show/the MCs afterwards. That's pretty much how I discovered the show as well, to watch a specific episodes with a fave of mine as the guest, and then I liked the show & the MCs so much that I went back & watched every episode from the beginning regardless of the guest.

Yea! I guess you are right! That's how I started to watch RM as well. Big bang nametag ripping episode was the first I watched :) Then I started from episode 1.

But I remember trying to get into MuDo, but found it very difficult because I had no clue what the show was about. The episodes are so different. The Wikipedia page for MuDo did not make me any smarter either.

Noticed that many people commented on sns saying that they don't like jomin becoz she is selfish and impolite etc..

I dont think these people understand the purpose of competetive variety shows. I've seen these types of comments for several years.

Many people take these competetive variety shows too seriously. In the early days ppl complained that Kwangsoo cheated too much and that it was unfair [emoji849][emoji849][emoji849]
