Spring Breakers got sued

Riff Raff -- the rapper and former MTV reality star -- says he's suing the people responsible for the movie "Spring Breakers" for $8 to $10 MILLION ... because he believes he was the basis for one of the characters.

Basically, Riff believes James Franco based his character Alien (a white rapper/gangster with cornrows and gold teeth) after himself ... and therefore he should get a bag full of cash for his troubles.

On his way out of AV Club in Hollywood last night, Riff offered up the logic behind his case ... and it's glorious:

"It's like if I have a front yard. And you're planting soil and you're planting trees and building peaches and houses and selling parking lots on my property ... then I  deserve to be compensated for some portion of that money."

#wisdom.

Saw his name and instantly thought of this. Found it quite fitting  :hoplz:

1. Riff-Raff

Un-savory people in our society. People you do not want to be associated with.
Ex. If this was America it would be a gated community in order to keep all the riff-raff out.

Ex. Look at all the riff-raff over there.

Ke$ha is next.

lol does anyone even know who that guy is?

cuz i surely don't.

Does Riff Raff think he's the first wannabe white rapper ever?

Who is riff raff anyway?

Don't you have to know who someone is in order to steal their persona?

Stay irrelevant.

Guys, come on :omgwtf: Riff-raff was obviously the inspiration for the character. The director even said it multiple times. And he may not be famous now, but he was kind of the "celebrity you love to hate" back in the day.

Riff Raff and James Franco have had quite a bit of trouble with each other. Alien is clearly based off of Riff Raff as a persona and character. It includes everything from his aesthetic, style, and personality but that doesn't mean that he should receive any compensation or money because he didn't act or have anything to do with the film. Riff Raff has always been incredibly thirsty and starving for attention from the moment that he appeared on From G To Gents up until his career as a rapper. He shouldn't be asking for any compensation because he also parodied James Franco on One Life To Live. Can't begin to express my distaste for Riff Raff because he is the epitome of an awful rapper that doesn't have anything to offer in terms of music. He's always been tired and way to thirsty for my tastes.

Tbh I liked him on Action Bronson's Bird On a Wire. That was one of the sickest Hip Hop tracks from last year.

Loads of underground heads like Riff Raff as well, I admit alot hate him as well though lol. He releases way too much, and alot of it is trash but then so do most MC's nowadays.

I thought I saw a quote from him saying he was cool with the portrayal. Knowing it was based on him and not minding it plus being happy to to be recognized enough to have been copied.

I'm guessing someone got in his ear and said there was money to be made. James Franco nails it though and is fantastic in the movie. Shame the film itself is not up to much.

Agreed! James Franco does an excellent job portraying Alien and emulating Riff Raff in Spring Breakers. His performance was spot on and easily one of the few interest and worth while performances in the film. Didn't have any expectation for Spring Breakers because I have a rocky relationship with Harmony Korine and have disliked the majority of his filmography outside of a few moments during Gummo. Riff Raff always seemed incredibly upset about Franco and his portrayal because he has complained about it on various social networking sites and interviews. He even went out of his way to parody Franco on an episode of One Last Life To Live. I'll admit that he wasn't bad on Bird On Wire but he doesn't offer much on his lonesome. He just isn't my style of rap.
