TVXQ, the Kings of Hallyu, beat record after record in Japan by topping the weekly Oricon Charts with four consecutive albums.

With the release of their beautiful new album “WITH,†the amazing duo topped the weekly charts as well as the daily charts. With this, for the very first time as foreign artists, they set the record of topping the weekly Oricon Charts with four consecutive albums. The four albums are 2011′s “TONE,†2013′s “TIME,†2014′s “TREE†and this new album, “WITH.†This beats Bon Jovi‘s previous record from five years and one month ago of topping the weekly charts three albums in a row.

Including TVXQ’s “BEST SELECTION 2010†album that was released in 2010, that puts TVXQ at the top of five weekly Oricon Charts in total. This also ties them for the record of topping the weekly Oricon Charts most times along with Simon & Garfunkel and Bon Jovi.

In particular, this new album sold an incredible 233,000 copies in the first week of release, which makes it the fourth consecutive album that sold more than 200,000 copies in the first week of release. This beat their own record of most albums selling more than 200,000 copies, proving their place as true musicians in Japan.

Oricon said on their home page on December 23, “TVXQ topping the weekly charts is the fourth full album and fifth overall albums to do so. That it’s the fourth full album to top the charts sets the new record over the old one set by Bon Jovi’s three albums in a row to top the weekly charts five years and one month ago.†They added, “Also, that they topped the weekly charts five times in total ties TVXQ for the records set by Simon and Garfunkel as well as Bon Jovi.â€

Furthermore, in the “2014 artist total sales†report released by Oricon, which adds up the sales from singles, albums, and DVDs, TVXQ recorded 3,691,000,000 yen ($30,700,000 USD). This makes them the only foreign artists to grace the top five of the charts, solidifying their place as one of the most respected artists in Japan.

Congratulations to TVXQ!

so proud of them, going for another RIAJ Platinum boys :rlytearpls:

as I said, if my maths is right, TVXQ is the highest selling korean artist/group in the world in 2014 according to Oricon/GAON/Hanteo with over 1,4+ million sold records.

They not only continue to sell more than 1+ million records per year but also manage to increase the amount every year too
