How Beauty Is Defined Around the World

I think the Ethiopia one might be limited to a certain tribe, not the whole country, but it IS true, I saw a documentary about it.  Also the Thai people with the neck rings are only one isolated tribe but it is also true.

The Japan ones are true for sure, although some women go for banana curls/ wavy perms.  But somehow if that is your natural hair texture you get made fun of?

In East Asia they tend to like high refined noses and wide almond shaped eyes (both relative to the East Asian norm) plus a small mouth.  I've noticed, coming back from Japan, that American celebrities (especially some of the older ones) have wiiiiiide mouths kind of like clowns + really boney faces.  Like Gweneth Paltrow.  I think Americans used to not pay any attention to facial proportions or something.... just are they blond or not, lol.  Anyway I think it is changing, look at Jennifer Lawrence, Selena Gomez, that one from Vampire diaries, etc.  It's interesting how rapidly it is starting to change.

I think it's kinda correct what they say about beauty standard in Southeast Asia (well, at least in my home country). Pale white skin, dark straight hair with almond shaped (read: big) eyes and caucasian's nose (idk what to call that type of nose is, the one with high nosebridge). Bonus point if you have thin lips.
