Article: Movie 'Interview' cancels release... production company Sony feels threatened by terrorism

Source: Chosun Ilbo via Naver + [2]

1. [+164, -18] North Korea shows they're more powerful than South Korea

2. [+130, -2] I wonder if they produced this movie knowing their lives would be at stake. North Korea could kill them without anyone knowing.

3. [+102, -0] Aww, I was curious about the movie too.

4. [+98, -1] Could be a marketing tactic... they'll promote it like this and then actually release it.

5. [+21, -2] Heard Americans were calling the movie trash

6. [+114, -3] Might as well release it as a torrent if they're not putting it out

7. [+48, -4] Come on, Jong Un hyung quit being like that ã… ã… ã… ã… ã…

Article: American organization claims "We will spread DVDs of 'Interview' to North Korea"

Source: Yonhap News via Naver

1. [+115, -7] North Korea's so pathetic... can't even take a movie for what it is

2. [+97, -5] Korea's ready for it. Release it to us.

3. [+55, -8] I hope this organization doesn't get killed

4. [+46, -6] What they're doing is a good cause... but I doubt the DVDs will actually reach the lower economic group that really need it.

5. [+54, -19] They should do it quietly instead of announcing it like that. Then they can at least lie and say they didn't do it if it gets found out.

Storyline

In the action-comedy The Interview, Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) run the popular celebrity tabloid TV show "Skylark Tonight." When they discover that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is a fan of the show, they land an interview with him in an attempt to legitimize themselves as journalists. As Dave and Aaron prepare to travel to Pyongyang, their plans change when the CIA recruits them, perhaps the two least-qualified men imaginable, to assassinate Kim Jong-un.

The question is,Would America be okay if any other Country decide to make a movie portraying any of the past or present President of murica in that way?

imho it depends on which president....most of them, especially those in recent years, aren't thought of in a favorable light by the public.

but i don't think usa would threaten to bomb innocent moviegoers for going to see it regardless  :wut:

OK, I understand that some of you are angry over this and all but there's definitely nothing that you can do about it.  The damage has been done.  And also, it's not about terrorism and politics, it's only about the safety of people all across the United States so that's why the studio had to cancel next week's release of "The Interview" in response of the terror threats coming from unknown hackers.  And besides, i'm sure that Sony is vowing to be extra careful of making movies from now on so that there won't be any controversies like this in the future
