I hear people talking about how SNSD was better back in 2009-2011 and how their music quality dropped so much since then.

I think it is quite an unpopular opinion but, I personally like SNSD way better now, not only music wise, but concept wise as well. I could never get into their overly cute staff; with the exception of the ballads like Star, Star, Star, Mistake, Dear Mom, Forever, Mistake, I don't even care that much about their pre-2011 music.

I like them as they are now, even if I admit I miss their energetic dances. They matured and I like that. I like the feminine and sophisticated concepts they pull off now a days. I like their songs more, their stages are not as exciting but I appreciate that they improved vocally.

Their Japanese music is life, not only the 1st album, but the most recent ones are just as good. Also The boys album, which was in 2011, is their best in my opinion. Mr. Mr. album was probably my favorite mini from them. I like most of the stuff they came up with post 2011 in both Korea and Japan so to me, the music quality drop doesn't make much sense.

So, I have a question for you. Do you like pre or post 2011 SNSD better?

Their music was good just saying but right now most of their songs aren't that great compared to the previous songs and not to mention their Japanese music has always been on top of their Korean. But than again music is very subjective and can be determaine by a number of factors. What I enjoy can be completly different from yours and other people. As for me like I said I perfer their ballad's from before.

MrMr is also still my jam till today , i don't get why kpop fans dislike it , maybe they don't like mature stuff since most of kpop fans is underage ( below 20 average ) when they get older, they will love MrMr

and this concept, costume below , slay so hard  :ahmagah:  , i hope someday they will use concept similar like this , genie upgraded

i agree

into the new world is their most over-rated era. like yeah they danced and shit but sorry that song was cheap and boring and they all looked ugly

the styling and the makeup was so bad then,i can never watch those videos tbh

and i thought i was the only one.. i only have a few picks from their pre-2011 albums.. i don't know why others say that the boys was the beginning of their music quality downfall.. tbh, the boys is one of their best eras and the album was flawless as well as igab. mr.mr and its album are my jam atm.

you're right the cutesy image, even though I sort of understood it because that was big back then. their concepts are getting better by the year. paparazzi and igab just had crazy epic styling

about music, hmm. I actually feel like it's been going downhill for a while? imo paparazzi and mr taxi was their peak as far as music goes. wildly catchy and just good songs overall. I didn't really feel igab that much and mr mr was decent, but not great. which is a shame because the rest of the songs on the mini were really good!

2014 was just a poor year for everyone. sigh. I still love the queens, but.. it's probably gonna get even rougher from now on, what with the recent scandals and everything
