Can Russians on OH! confirm this?

I know Russian politicians like to professionally troll for a living but idk if this quote is real or if Murdoch owned media are trolling as usual.

Mr Putin has so far defended the central bank against accusations from populists in the Duma that it has betrayed Russia by letting the rouble crash, and is run by “liberal feminists†in thrall to the International Monetary Fund. cr

This is from The Telegraph btw.

:imstupid:

What are they reporting/blaming the crash of the rouble on the media there?

like if this is real, they might as well blame the gays and unicorns

I'm aware but I can't find any other english source quoting the reason other than The Telegraph  :derp:

Maybe it's there somewhere in Russian.

I can't find any either.  But I'm inclined to believe it than to simply dismiss it as another Murdoch-led smear.  IMF MD aside, the current head of Russia's Central Bank is also (a) female, and (b) a Putin appointee.  Given the rouble's disastrous plunge over the past week, it's not surprising that some in the Duma would attack her and focused on her gender (Russia is still very patriachal) and Putin would defend her/the Central Bank.

This is my current dilemma because both sides can check out although I'm leaning towards the latter too since a Murdoch-led smear would be shamelessly taking it out of context and using it as a clickbait headline.

I'm confused by your use of the word "too"

You asked whether the quote is real or if Murdoch owned media are trolling as usual. I posted to say I'm inclined to believe the former, i.e. I think the quote is real. You replied that you're leaning towards the latter, which is fair enough. But then why the "too"?

That's because I changed my stance from 1) Murdoch-led smear (due to lack of english sources) to 2) Russian sentiment, once I realised that Murdoch-led media wouldn't have missed the opportunity to spin a clickbait title. Should have made it clearer, sorry.

Ahh, I see. No worries!

I wish someone from Russia would chip in, tbh. I know there are a few of them in OH.
