VIDEO: Tiffany Hwang’s dreadful first pitch before Dodgers game
The K-pop singer uncorked one of the wildest first pitches Monday night at Dodgers Stadium, a bouncing, wide left toss that would even make Mariah Carey or Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory cringe

Tiffany Hwang, of South Korea’s Girls’ Generation, earns a spot in the Hall of Shame with a wild ceremonial first pitch Monday night at Dodgers Stadium.

Make room for Tiffany Hwang on any list of worst ceremonial first pitchers.

The singer uncorked one of the wildest first pitches Monday night at Dodgers Stadium, a bouncing, wide left toss that would even make Mariah Carey or Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory cringe (YouTube them).

The San Francisco native and member of South Korea's Girls' Generation, a nine-member K-pop group, got some tips from Dodgers lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu before her ceremonial throw — "He was just like, make sure you aim high. I'm not going to be stepping directly on the mound so, I hope I get a good pitch." — but it was to no avail.

Hwang, who wore a headband with cat ears on it, was doomed from the start. Following an elaborate wind-up routine, the right-handed toss broke left and bounced on the infield grass and into foul territory along the first-base line.

What did she say after the first pitch? The only thing she could say.

"Oh, it went terrible."

Still, Hwang didn't have the night's worst pitching performance. That distinction goes to Dodgers starter Chris Capuano, who was knocked around for eight hits, allowing six runs in just four innings of work.

Global pop star Tiffany Hwang throws out first pitch before Dodgers game, fails (vid)

Since I can barely keep up — meaning not in the least bit — with the current trendsetters in American pop music, I must admit that I have never heard of Tiffany Hwang, nor am I familiar with her nine-member, all-girl super-group, Girls’ Generation.

While Girls’ Generation initially made its mark on the global pop charts from its home base of South Korea, Hwang was born and raised on the West Coast and her father apparently is a big-time Dodgers fan.

So, how did the 23-year-old global pop phenom fare? Did she make her father proud while throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the Dodgers hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night?

Um, no.

Here’s the lovely young lady giving it her best shot, with South Korea’s Hyun-Jin Ryu handling the catching duties. Via Cut4:

Still the same video linked here

Yikes. Good form, bad results. Her pre-pitch posing may have thrown her off her game. It was definitely not as good as Cris Carter’s recent attempt at a Reds game. But in all honesty, that should be expected.

If you were unwilling to sit through Hwang’s interview, the Dodgers did upload this VINE video:

Double yikes. And yet, totally adorable. In this video on MLB.com, Hwang says that Hyun-Jin Ryu told her “It’s okay,†which is awfully nice of him because it was not.

Then again, she is a cute, apparently talented pop music performer. Should we really expect anything more? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a bunch of Girls’ Generation songs to catch up on. I hope the music is a trip, that it has a funky beat and that I can bug out to it.

Baseball Player Ryu Hyun Jin Says He′s Jealous of SNSD Tiffany′s English Skills

Major League baseball player Ryu Hyun Jin and Girls′ Generation (SNSD)′s Tiffany got to bond at a game in America.

The May 10 broadcast of Mnet′s Wide Entertainment News will air more about what happened on the day Tiffany went to throw the first ball for a Major League baseball game.

While preparing for her throw, Tiffany met Ryu Hyun Jin, the Korean baseball player who plays for the LA Dodgers, and hold a cute conversation.

As Ryu Hyun Jin was to act as catcher for Tiffany′s pitch, he tried hard to help her ease into her role.

"When did you arrive?" Ryu Hyun Jin first asked, to which Tiffany answered, "I came the day before yesterday. I live here too."

Ryu Hyun Jin then asked shyly, "When do you leave?" Tiffany answered, "On Thursday."

Tiffany then took the lead, and started asking her own questions.

"How is it here?" she asked, and Ryu Hyun Jin said sadly, "It would be so much better if I could just speak [English]..." He then added, "I′m jealous of you; you′re good at English."

Tiffany comforted Ryu Hyun Jin, saying, "You′ll catch on soon~ Soon~"

Tiffany also met with the LA Dodgers′ most popular batter Matt Kemp this day.
