On the 14th’s broadcast of SBS K-Pop Star 4, Lee Jin Ah passionately sang her self-composition, “As You Likeâ€. Her unique musical color along with her exceptional keyboard skills have captured attention.

After watching Lee Jin Ah’s performance, judge Park Jin Young stated, “I’ll just stop doing music.†Yoo Hui Yeol added, “I’ve written 200~300 songs, myself. But I don’t think I’ve written any songs that are better than Lee Jin Ah’s.†There was a long pause as the judges sat in stunned silence.

Yang Hyun Suk broke the silence, “This is the power of music, isn’t it? It can stun people, making them unable to even judge. I think you were 10 times better than you were in the 1st round.â€

The song has currently taken the #1 spot on Melon.

1. [+4212, -753] I listened to it. It felt like a dream where I was walking alone on snowy day. Somehow, it’s very brilliant…

2. [+3418, -548] I listened to it, too and really, this song is awesome..

3. [+2722, -604] Anticipating your next song~~ Lee Jin Ah, hwaiting!! Let’s win the whole thing!!

4. [+2551, -500] I’ll be looking forward to your next song and the next song after that. You’re an artist.

5. [+2428, -470] Songs can really put people in a haze. Wow~~

6. [+423, -82] I think everyone can agree that this song is 10 times better than the last one.

7. [+317, -88] The song isn’t bad, but I’m not sure it’s as good as what they’re saying ã…‹ã…‹ I don’t like seeing the K-Pop Star judges going so overboard like that.

8. [+234, -72] Listening to it gave me goosebumps..I’m not sure what it was..maybe the feeling of my heart being moved?..I’m anticipating the next song!

I thought of that the first time I saw her on TV too! But more of a J. Rabbit

Yessss, how did I forget that, I read soooo many reviews on melon comparing her to J. Rabbit & Taru.

Okay IMHO, this over dramatized reaction to her work is beyond me. Incase Korea hasn't noticed their indie music is riddled (in the best sense) with people like her with her vocal colour and even better compositions and charisma:j.rabit, Taru, Morrie, J.ae, Fanny fink, standing egg's girl vocalist, hell even jang yoon ju ... I mean i could go on and on.

I was expecting something amazing, but JYP started overreacting too early, and her voice is a grower. The song is good, but the judges overreacted.

She's actually pretty unique. People are calling her boring due to this one composition but her audition was really different. She has different stuff.

I actually think she's unique. Her audition had a more Esperanza Spalding feel. If you negate her soft voice that is popular in the Indie scene, I think she's different to the saccharine tunes of J-Rabbit.

Her songs are really pretty, but really boring. But then again Korea loves that kind of boring coffee house indie pop, so I'm sure she will do fine there, however, I don't see much of future for her as a hallyu star.

Not every Korean musician wants or needs to be a Hallyu star.
