Article: The downfall of 'Dad!'... even 'Superman' can't rest assured

Source: Oh My News via Naver

1. [+4,326, -124] Superman's over the minute they lose the triplets. Dad! should've kept the show it was in the beginning but they kept listening to viewer demands and started trying weird things which is what eventually led to its downfall.

2. [+4,114, -76] Just stick to the original concept of dads going through the struggles of solo parenting. Stop with the guests, stop with bringing moms on.

3. [+3,196, -130] Varieties are a trend too and trends pass.

4. [+2,940, -92] There's only so much varieties centered around babies can do, like in the case of 'Oh My Baby'. Superman's only hanging on because of the triplets. Once their popularity dies down, the show's over too.

5. [+2,522, -100] Why can't we just enjoy the children for what they are...

6. [+581, -33] Remember what Song Daddy said in his interview... that he wouldn't have brought them on to the show if they were at an age where they were aware of the cameras... Makes me realize that he'll know exactly when to take them off the show too so stop worrying.

7. [+522, -71] I don't get why people are accusing Yoon Hoo of being aware of the cameras;;;; he doesn't. I think he's cute and innocent.. please stop judging these kids by your standards.

8. [+399, -22] Yoon Hoo kicked off the baby variety trend and I think triplets will be the ones who end it. Yoon Hoo was a sensation and there won't be any more kids who can beat the triplets' current popularity.

9. [+349, -18] Superman is completely reliant on when the triplets leave the show

It was great before triplets coming. Sarang got so much love. But when triplets coming, they love triplets more, and I agree when triplets gone, the ratings will decrease. They really dant afford to lose daehan minguk manse.

Me too, I love triplets so much.

I never got the hype around these shows. :/

Well, i dont know about you but I personally love babies. They are so cute and innocence. I dont have baby myself and watching them is entertaining and I can learn one or two things when I have baby myself in the future.

You should watch Retrun of Superman and Dad! First season. These shows are fun. The second season of Dad! Isnt that bad too.

Triplets steal the show of RoS and I love their "what's that?"

I've been watching 'Superman Returns' since the beginning and I've enjoyed watching all the children grow up on the show. To see how much sarang, haru, seo eon and seo jun have change has been a wonderful experience imo. I love the triplets as well. They brought a new energy to the show.

It's understandable that with time, they'll all leave the show (haru is leaving this month) for the benefit of the children. It's why Junu and Junseo's father took them off the show. They're in school so he and his wife knew that being on TV was going to affect their lives. Song Il Kook said it himself. Currently, to the triplet's, the cameras are 'alligators' or 'dinosaurs'. They have no sense that they're on TV. But once they do, he's gonna leave the show with the triplets.

I stopped watching Dad! a few episodes into season 2 but I've been watching ROS since KBS started posting subbed videos online. ROS's biggest advantage is the age of the kids on the show, they're much younger and therefore lead to more coo-enducing moments. People enjoy watching them grow up. The twins and the triplets are still pretty young so they have at least two-three years more on the show, unless the parents pull them out, and depending on how receptive the public is gonna be of the new family, I think they could stretch the show some more. Casting the triplets proves to be the production team's best decision to-date, let's see how the future families they cast are gonna fare.

Also this...

It's time to bring Hello Baby back

I came to like SHINee because of this show. Yoogeun is the cutest! Lauren, Leo and Dayoung were also so adorable  :lub:

is it good for babies to be around cameras like this anyway?

Yeah, the whole concept behind those type of shows irks me. I mean, unless the kid shows interest about appearing on TV (and even then I would be cautious) or if it's a one or two episodes thing, I wouldn't feel confortable exposing my children to the public eye like that.

Omg yes. SNSD & SHINee Hello Baby in particular were sooo great (but I'm biased).  :ahmagah:   I wish I could buy season DVDs of that show and watch it over and over.

I don't know what other idol group I'd want to see/who would be truly entertaining.

I remember watching the first season of Dad Where Are You Going? and it was really entertaining to watch. You can see the changes in the relationship of fathers to their child. But after the first season my interest changed to Superman is Back. But right now for that show I'm only looking forward to the scenes with the triplets.

Hello Baby should have another seaso with winner or any other idols. But they should make it like the first ones where they can interact more with the kids. I love B1A4 but their season of Hello Baby has the less interactions with the kids.

As much as I love LiHwan and Yoon Hoo, I lost interest in Appa Odiga despite being a hardcore fan of season 1. For me, the editing and execution went downhill.

Meanwhile Superman started out boring for me but ever since the triplets joined it gave the show so much life!

Anyway I wouldn't be sad if these programs end cos it's really disturbing to the kids and they're very limiting as to what they can do. It's good that they have somewhat achieved their aim of getting Korea to focus more on paternity. That's good enough.
