[Drama]â€Healer†Episode 10 News

wpid-150106-e28098ed9e90eb9face28099-eca

Honeymoon :har:

“Healer†Ji Chang Wook invited Park Min Young to a secret venue.

The production team of Healer revealed stills showing Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young enjoying a date under a blanket at a secret location.

The stills show the scene to be aired in episode 10 tonight, where Jung Hu invites Young Shin to a secret location so that the two could spend time alone together. Netizens are excited to hear that Jung Hu will be attempting to confess to Young Shin tonight.

In the revealed pictures, Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young are seen sharing a blanket. The two of them look especially warm sitting side by side on the sofa drinking beer, with a fire burning in a drum barrel.

Here, Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young give off a sweet romantic vibe with their shoulders touching each other affectionately with a smile.

The two of them took care of each other at the filming that took place in the freezing weather, but their look of passion made the set warmer.

Give a way for Princess :datass:

In another set of pictures released, Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young are seen infiltrating into a press conference where Kim Eui Chan, who forcefully demanded sex from Joo Yeon Hee, is about the announce his decision to run for office as mayor of Seoul.

Park Min Young is seen wearing a black trench coat in front of numerous reporters, looking at somewhere with a stern expression. Dressed in a black suit, Ji Chang Wook is filming something with his camera. But Ji Chang Wook is surrounded by people trying to stop him, raising anticipation to know just how important this report is to Park Min Young and Ji Chang Wook.

On the other hand, Yoo Ji Tae is sitting alone somewhere else and has his eyes focused on something in front of his microphone with a composed look. What catches the eye especially are their serious and fierce expressions. What story are Ji Chang Wook, Park Min Young and Yoo Ji Tae trying to tell?

Saboo, wae... :omg:

Ji Chang Wook will also be showing an outburst of emotions in “Healer†tonight.

The production team released a still showing a meeting between Ji Chang Wook and Oh Gwang Rok.

In the drama, Seo Jung Hu has started to question about the death of his father who used to run a pirate radio station. He had discovered a photo of his father taken with his friends at the home of Choi Myung Hee and Kim Moon Shik who has framed him for murder. His doubts have increased because Choi Myung Hee had mistakenly called him with his father’s name.

In the previous episode, Seo Jung Hu wanted to ask his master Ki Young Jae about whatever he was curious about, but was unable to meet him. Episode 10 that will be aired tonight is gaining interest for the meeting between these two and the sight of Ji Chang Wook venting his pent-up anger.

In the revealed pictures, the sight of Seo Jung Hu making an effort to suppress his pent-up frustration and anger attracts attention. For Seo Jung Hu who had always been living calmly without showing an interest in anyone, his expression of emotions draws sympathy.

Seeing Ki Young Jae standing with his back to Seo Jung Hu who is breaking down after venting his anger, makes people even more curious. There is increased anticipation as to what Ki Young Jae could have said to make Seo Jung Hu unable to suppress his anger.

On this day, Ji Chang Wook showed a surprising degree of concentration and showed explosive acting skills as he emoted, making the people watching him at the scene hold their breath. A filming representative said “Ji Chang Wook earned praises from the staff with his great emotional acting skills.â€

Another still shows Ji Chang Wook passionately filming an action scene for episode 10 in a building with his whole body covered with dust.

In a filming that took place at Cheongju city, the actor and staff had to suffer filming amid dust so thick that it was difficult to even keep one’s eyes open. There was even more dust because it was an action scene that required a lot of movement, but Ji Chang Wook was not bothered one bit and focused on his stunts.

When the cameras stopped rolling, Ji Chang Wook showed concern for the staff who were coughing and took care of them. He did not show any signs of tiredness despite the long filming hours and energised the set with his bright smile.

A representative of Ji Chang Wook said, “Although there are many difficult scenes to film as he plays Healer who holds a special kind of job, the atmosphere at the set is good because Ji Chang Wook is always having fun acting. His relationship with the staff is especially good, so we can expect to see many good scenes.â€

OMG just saw episode 9

but the kiss was too short  :._.: hoping for more action next time lol

i  need episode 10 now

8 Factors fueling our Healer obsession

The K-drama Healer is almost to the halfway point, and it is gaining momentum as it progresses. The action romance, which stars Ji Chang WookPark Min Young, and Yoo Ji Tae, has developed a devoted following of viewers waiting on the edge of their seats for the next episode, and we can't say that we blame them! Here are 8 factors from the first 8 episodes that have fueled our intense Healerobsession.

1. The whole Clark Kent/Healer vibe

Seeing Ji Chang Wook transform from the stuttering, nervous Bong Sook to the confident Healer is both hilarious and amazing. What a difference a pair of glasses makes!

2. The thrilling stunts

In keeping with the Superman theme, he leaps buildings with a single bound! It may not be realistic, but it sure is fun to watch.

3. The tech-savvy ahjumma

Kim Mi Kyung is an absolute chameleon of an actress. She has played almost every type of role imaginable, and as the knitting hacker Min Ja, she brings comic relief to the series.

4. The knee-buckling chemistry

Swoooooooon. I mean, I guess if you don't like sighing and clutching your heart, you shouldn't watch this show. For everyone else, just how much did you squeal in delight at the end of episode 8?

5. Chae Young Shin's sweet, sweet dance moves

Reportedly, Jaejoong himself helped Park Min Young with this choreography! I just love how uninhibited her character is. She's someone I would want as a friend in real life.

6. Kim Moon Ho's charisma

If I were an aspiring reporter, I would hang posters of Kim Moon Ho on my wall, too. He's confident, charismatic, and bold — everything a hotshot reporter should be.

7. The mystery

The pieces of past and present are starting to come together, but it will be interesting to see what happens when the full mystery unfolds. Do we have the full picture from the flashbacks so far, or are there more surprises in store?

8. Your friendly neighborhood thugs

Just how much do you love that Young Shin's best buds growing up were all of the ex cons in the neighborhood? They haven't appeared much, but here's hoping they team up with Healer later in the series!

And a bonus...

Look, it's not the main reason to watch, but Ji Chang Wook sure doesn't hurt, either.

LMAO :har: the pics

Thank you for sharing

It's not really because his 50cm shoulder width, but naked in first ep enough to make us glued forever in this show

:megusta: our hero

You'll happy after watch ep 10 (thanks viki) there's action, skinship, but NO PREVIEW FOR NEXT WEEK

Wow, respect to him for doing a lot of stunts himself, it must be exhausting. but it looks awesome!

My favourite scenes this week were the undercover shenanigans and the emotional scene where the Healer said he didn't have anything to live for and if he would end up like his father. That punched me in the stomach.

He's awesome actor :rlytearpls: dedicated all his own for the better result, must be really tired, although he has stuntman as well he does mostly the stunt action. So cool

That's really heartbreaking moment, I cry mess too without knowing what they said, and still crying after the subs came. When he said his father is a killer and him self is a thief that's just

Rating is growing higher every episode, yay :ahmagah:

EPISODE 10 RECAP

With the press conference about to begin, our stealth team prepares to infiltrate the heavily monitored hall to do some muckraking. Assemblyman Kim’s side is taking every precaution to control the event, so that the only thing viewers see is the politician’s polished image of integrity.

ABS has secured sole broadcasting rights to cover the event live, so they’ve got a vested interest in appeasing the assemblyman. In charge of the coverage is Min-jae, who directs from a broadcast van behind the hall, assuring her boss that her team has the event under control.

At the Someday office, Moon-ho takes a few cheesy promo pictures, and Editor Jang asks if he’s willing to take a hit to his hard-hitting journalist cred. Moon-ho recalls Min-jae calling him addicted to his popularity and gives the editor the green light to sell it all for the sake of their broadcast. Everyone will be watching in curiosity (or schadenfreude) to see what Moon-ho’s up to. So give ‘em a show.

With that assurance, Editor Jang promises to do his job and create some trouble.

At the event hall, Moon-ho’s sidekick Jong-soo disguises himself as a service worker. Then Young-shin and Jung-hoo arrive, dressed to the nines and strutting in like they own the place. So when they’re stopped by the staff, Young-shin sniffs in her airiest heiress voice, “Why am I being restricted?â€

Identifying themselves as guests of the engagement ceremony relaxes the guards a bit, but Jung-hoo’s large bag still draws a stare. Thinking quickly to distract the staffer from inspecting it, Young-shin lays her head on Jung-hoo’s shoulder and says pettishly, “Oppa. I’m about to be in bad mood. Do something.â€

healer10-00048.jpg

I love that we can see multiple layers to Jung-hoo’s act at the same time: He’s the Healer, acting as nervous Bong-soo, who’s acting as the authoritative boyfriend. He reaches for his phone to call his “secretary,†but Young-shin tells him to call the owner of this venue “before I explode.†The staffer hurriedly allows them through rather than risk his neck over offending some VVIPs.

Together with Jong-soo, the three gate-crashers hurry to the bathrooms to prep their equipment. HA, Young-shin charges into the ladies’ room fully expecting Jung-hoo to follow, and he does the same with the men’s room. He wins, and they throw on less attention-grabbing clothing and ready their cameras.

Moon-ho calls from the news desk to check their status, and reminds Young-shin that all she has to do is ask the question. Getting an answer isn’t important, since Moon-ho will be standing by to take over the report from there.

Jung-hoo steps aside to check in with Min-ja, who again pesters him to bow out before he finds himself in bigger trouble. She warns that he’s picked up a police tail—they’re sniffing around Young-shin, and he’s already been photographed. She’s got a bad feeling about this.

But Jung-hoo refuses to leave right now, even though there’s no legitimate Healer-related reason for him to stay. When she presses for an explanation, he replies that he received a job order. She knows nothing about it, and he replies, “It’s from myself. To stay next to Chae Young-shin.†Awwww. No excuses, just the truth.

Min-ja calls Teacher to inform him that Jung-hoo has “broken free of the reins.†Now what do they do?

Detective Yoon pulls the personnel files of all the Someday employees and orders them cross-checked against official documents, with particular emphasis on getting pictures of their faces.

Moon-shik joins the Elder at home just as the press conference is about to start, and they watch together as Assemblyman Kim takes the podium and begins his opening statements. Our trio sneaks into the hall by tagging along with a distracted official, acting like they’re part of his entourage.

healer10-00104.jpg

Now it’s a matter of finding their opening. Assemblyman Kim begins taking questions, and Young-shin waits alertly for a chance to hijack the proceedings.

Moon-ho puts in a call to Min-jae, who’s busy monitoring the press conference. But he insists it’s important and sounds so urgent that she leaves her producer in charge and steps out of the van to take his call.

When the floor opens for another question, Jung-hoo shoots an urging look at Young-shin to take the moment, but she has last-minute cold feet and shakes her head no. Another reporter steps up to ask his preapproved question, and Young-jae wilts in chagrin, recalling Moon-ho’s reminder earlier to do whatever she had to do in order to ask her question.

So she bucks up the courage and sends Jung-ho a Let’s do this look. He starts recording as Young-shin steps up, interrupting before the other reporter has a chance to speak. She addresses the politician loudly: “You know Joo Yeon-hee, don’t you?â€

Murmuring breaks out, but the assemblyman ignores her and the other reporter resumes his question. Young-shin is in danger of losing her opening, and searches for a way to salvage this. She recalls Moon-ho’s lessons, and how he’d told her to throw her shoe at him if it would hold his attention. So she whips off her trench coat and walks right into the aisle, eye-catching in her sleek red formalwear, and launches into her hard-hitting interrogation before anyone can react.

She lays out Assemblyman Kim’s association with President Hwang, connecting their shady backdoor dealings—Kim scratched Hwang’s back with construction deals, and Hwang returned the favor with women, including Yeon-hee.

While Young-shin is setting off this bomb, Moon-ho apologizes to Min-jae over the phone, admitting that he needed to draw her away for 30 seconds, and that he’s sorry it had to be her. It dawns on her belatedly that she’s missing something, and she runs back to the broadcast in horror.

Jung-hoo gets wrestled aside by security, but Young-shin is able to get out quite a lot of information before security gets to her. She turns to the wall of cameras to inform the viewers of Moon-ho’s upcoming report, then hurriedly signs off. Hilariously, she trips in her heels at the last moment, sending her face-planting right onto a camera lens.

Min-jae returns to her post and the ABS broadcast cuts to pre-recorded clips, but the damage is done. And while I have limited sympathy for Moon-shik in relation to him having sold his soul to the Elder, you have to admit it’s awkward for him to have to watch this with the old man, after working so hard to insist that his kid bro was harmless.

Moon-shik promises to take care of the meddling reporter, but the Elder points out that she committed no crime, the broadcast was live, and they can’t touch her without attracting notice. He concludes, “Kim Moon-ho has sent us a serious warning: Don’t touch her.â€

healer10-00186.jpg

The Elder puts his staff in emergency damage-control mode, but they were unprepared for the internet onslaught and don’t have appropriate measures at the ready. The old man is so impressed with Moon-ho’s planning that he cackles out loud, although he must be fuming as well. Moon-shik kneels penitently and promises to find a solution, while the Elder decides they’ll have to cut Assemblyman Kim loose. Would Moon-shik be interested in taking his position?

Moon-ho carries the rest of the newscast, describing the room salon video they were given by a secret informant and showing Young-shin’s recorded interview with Yeon-hee. He closes with a vow that although Someday may only broadcast sporadically, they will not put forth “broadcasts that shouldn’t be made,†wherein people in power abuse their resources to cover the eyes of the powerless. He promises they’ll come back when there are more things needing to be said, bows his head to his audience, and signs off.

It’s moments like this that you understand why Moon-ho is as respected as he is. He’s so damn impressive in that moment that his staff gapes in awe, and Young-shin sighs with shining eyes.

In mere seconds, Moon-ho shoots to the top of the search engine lists and Someday’s phones start ringing off the hook. The team members are hit with simultaneous waves of joy and trepidation at what they’ve done, but take their cue from the pleased Moon-ho, who thanks them for their work.

Jung-hoo clocks the return of Young-shin’s hero worship, and she practically jumps to take Moon-ho’s call. (And, crushingly, she turns around to chat giddily with him, her back turned away from Jung-hoo.)

Jong-soo wonders whether this is a sunbae-hoobae relationship or a budding romantic one, half-joking that he might try pursuing her himself, while Jung-hoo’s face wears this… expression.

Young-shin is ecstatic with the day’s results, her mood bolstered further when Moon-ho praises her for a job well done. She returns the sentiment, saying, “You’re a better person than I had thought. I misunderstood you momentarily.†Ahhh, it’s uplifting to see how her words mean so much to him, even though his voice remains even-keel. He hangs up and murmurs, “Thank you, Ji-an-ah.â€

As the three head to the car and load their gear, Jung-hoo clocks the plainclothes cops watching from a parked car. They look away every time he glances over, and he keeps his face averted while he talks to Young-shin, who’s stumbling in her heels. When he offers her her boots, she smiles appreciatively at his thoughtfulness.

The cops remain on their tail as they drive, so Jung-hoo takes advantage of the opportunity when a large truck gets between the two cars. Urging Jong-soo to drive off down a side street, they temporarily lose the cop car. Just to be safe, Jung-hoo pulls the car over and ushers a confused Young-shin out with him, sending Jong-soo off alone. Not a moment too soon, because as he and Young-shin dart into a building, he sees the cops’ car driving by outside.

At least they’re in the clear now, and to explain his behavior, Jung-hoo plays it off like he just wanted to go out for drinks together. Young-shin assumes that he meant to ditch Jong-soo and enthusiastically agrees, conceding that it’s nicer without the third wheel. She suggests a wine bar, but Jung-hoo has a place in mind and takes the lead.

As Moon-shik leaves his meeting with the Elder, he flashes back to the first time he’d been brought here. Against his will, it looks like, from the way he struggles against the burly guards who drag him in.

healer10-00309.jpg

Sporting a bloodied face, Young Moon-shik glares as the Elder speaks of “growth†as the process of closing one’s eyes, then reopening them to see previously unseen things. Moon-shik spits out, “Lying to the world, giving false testimony, betraying friends—you call that growth?â€

The Elder replies that this is how Moon-shik can survive—and also the woman he loves. She can get the best medical care and recover, and then Moon-shik can set out atoning or loving. Hm, so it looks like we’re in the direct aftermath of the mysterious accident…

Jong-soo returns to the office alone, grumbling about being ditched by his partners. He cheers up to hear that Moon-ho’s treating the staff to dinner, and as he leaves, the camera lingers meaningfully on the bags of Young-shin’s and Jung-hoo’s clothing.

healer10-00334.jpg

On the way up to Jung-hoo’s secret spot, Young-shin pauses in front of the elevator, balking at the last minute. She makes up an excuse about the best bars being underground, but Jung-hoo keeps her from leaving and says that he likes high places, where he can watch people from above.

The wording sounds curious to her, and he explains, “I can see people, but they can’t see me.†So Young-shin musters the resolve and marches into the elevator, although once she’s inside she clenches her fist and screws her eyes shut.

Jung-hoo sees her reaction and slowly moves next to her, his hand reaching out toward hers. As soon as she feels his hand, she’s the one who grabs it tightly and holds on for dear life. While his eyes widen in surprise, she slowly starts to calm, breathing slowly. Ever so gradually, he moves closer and closer, leaning in to kiss her forehead.

healer10-00345.jpg

But the elevator dings, her eyes open, and he jerks himself back. He leads the way to the roof door, but he doesn’t have time to pick the lock before she gets to his side. He stammers that the key is in his other coat, and Young-shin just steps right up, pulls a pin from her hair, and jimmies the lock herself. He’s taken aback, and she warns him not to speak a word of this to anybody.

There on the roof, Jung-hoo presents her with a makeshift tent, furnished with a couch, fire, and icebox. As they settle on the couch sharing a blanket, she asks Jung-hoo to talk about himself tonight, since he’s always listening to her talk.

But he asks about Young-shin anyway, and whether the person she’s waiting for has returned yet. She chides him to talk about himself, so he muses, “Then… will I do?â€

Omg. Is he making a confession? He asks, “Instead of someone you’re waiting for who won’t come, how about me, who’s next to you?â€

A pregnant moment, and then she laughs like it’s his bad attempt at a joke. But he continues, saying that if she wants, he can live the way she wants him to: “For a long time, carefully, by your side.â€

She sees that he’s serious and asks if he really means it, and he smiles down at her, saying yes. He tells her to take her time thinking it over, but she says she can’t. Touching hand to heart, she tells him, “Right now, there’s no room in here.â€

healer10-00423.jpg

Oof, rejected. He accepts her answer readily—so readily that she’s surprised, though relieved. She comments that he seemed like a different person just a moment ago, and tells him not to be too hurt because his rival is formidable. Jung-hoo plays the part of disappointed suitor and tells her not to rub it in, and they clink cans and resume their camaraderie. (Then she pesters him for details on when he first started liking her, and why.)

At the police station, Detective Yoon’s subordinate finishes the background checks on the Someday staff. The discovery that Park Bong-soo’s real card bears a different face is prevented, for now, by the discovery of more pressing news: President Hwang committed suicide.

healer10-00456.jpg

Yet more of Elder’s work, of course, engineered by Secretary Oh. A simple suicide note has been left behind, with no signs of forced entry. But Detective Yoon finds the case curious for how neatly everything lines up—the penitent suicide note, the list of crimes he’s left behind, the apologies to the women he abused, and the admission of killing Go Sung-chul.

Hwang describes accidentally killing Go on the train with medicine, slipped in his drink to help him sleep, and says he was haunted with guilt. That liquid conveniently turns up in Hwang’s desk, as does his train ticket from that day. How kind of the man to make this case so easy for him, Detective Yoon says sarcastically.

When Jung-hoo arrives at home that night, who should be waiting for him but his Teacher, all smiles. Jung-hoo looks at him incredulously, as we flash back to their first meeting.

healer10-00471.jpg

Teenage Jung-hoo is let out of juvie and ignores the smiling stranger who introduces himself as his father’s friend. Teacher follows him and reminds him that he’s all alone now, his grandmother having passed away while he was in the detention center, his mother remarried. Teacher sold Grandma’s home and possesses the funds, dangling the bankbook before Jung-hoo tauntingly.

Jung-hoo calls him a thief and attacks repeatedly, but Teacher knocks him down and prods him to steal the book from him. So Jung-hoo chases Teacher all the way to the abandoned building he now calls home. He goes after that bankbook again and again, day and night, over time learning to fight better and smarter. The training is constant and relentless, growing in intensity and acrobatic prowess until teenage Jung-hoo turns into adult Jung-hoo, and focused rage turns to exhilaration.

healer10-00516.jpg

But one day, Teacher packs up a bag and heads off for paradise, saying jovially that he won’t be back. He finally hands over Grandma’s bankbook and a phone number to ajumma, calling that his income stream from now on. He says that Jung-hoo becomes an adult today and wishes him well. Goddamn old man, that’s cold. You left him on his birthday?

Jung-hoo calls after him, still thinking it must be a joke, watching his mentor walk away without a backward glance.

So it’s no wonder that the air is charged now, as Jung-hoo faces his deserter with distrustful eyes. Didn’t Teacher say he’d never come back? Why did he never call once? “Did you not want to?†he asks. “Or did you forget? Entirely?â€

Teacher says there’s a stone in his gut that twists in pain whenever he sees Jung-hoo. Jung-hoo asks, “Where are there so many people who hurt at the sight of me?â€

Teacher holds out the old picture of his friends and offers to answer Jung-hoo’s questions about it. So Jung-hoo asks why his father killed himself, surprising Teacher, who’d thought he didn’t know.

Jung-hoo has known for years, though, having heard bits and pieces from adults who weren’t as careful about keeping him in the dark as they thought. So he’d asked around and sought out his mother, but couldn’t bring himself to ask because she burst into tears at the sight of him.

healer10-00572.jpg

So he decided to keep it to himself, and that photo was a great consolation to him; he could see his father’s smiling face and tell himself that there’s no way such a man would kill himself. But his ability to believe that ended the day he saw the same photograph in the house of the man who framed him for murder. So he needs to know, because that might give him “a reason.â€

Teacher asks, “A reason?†Jung-hoo replies, “Teacher, I have no reason for living.â€

He gulps back tears and admits, “And that scares me. That one day I might just decide like my father, I should just end it. I can’t continue. I’m afraid I’ll do that.†Is that what his father did? “Did my father have no reason for living?â€

So Teacher tells him what he knows: Dad was a reporter, and in the course of chasing a story, he came upon money. And because of that money, he killed somebody.

healer10-00617.jpg

Jung-hoo reels. Teacher tells him he’d dug up every bit of news after he was released from prison, but he’d found the story suspicious. Jung-hoo’s quickly losing his composure, however, and declares bitterly, “So my father was a murderer, and I’m a thief.†He screams and kicks things, and even blames Teacher for answering his question.

Teacher faces him sternly and says, “Listen up, Seo Jung-hoo. Your father, Seo Joon-seok, wouldn’t have killed anybody. I know that. You might not, but I do. So if you’re going to get so crazed over it, find out properly. Who killed your father. I quit in the middle. What will you do?â€

Over at Moon-ho’s apartment, Healer checks that nobody’s home and then breaks in. He’s been prompted here by Teacher’s comment about a sixth member of the group—the little boy who snapped the photo, who’d been like everybody’s kid brother.

healer10-00629.jpg healer10-00665.jpg

Young-shin sits down to write the Healer an email contracting his services. She doesn’t know his procedure or his fee, but requests a meeting with him—that’s her job request.

Jung-hoo searches Moon-ho’s home until he finds the old briefcase hidden in that chest, inside which is the collection of cassette tapes. There’s also a tattered booklet bearing the title “HEALER†and marked as a first issue, dated May 1981. The cover page bears the line: The media exists to diagnose and heal this society’s pains. Aha. So Healer was an underground vigilante publication.

Moon-ho wraps up his work at Someday’s office, and on his way out he knocks over a bag—the clothing we’d lingered on earlier. Picking up the dropped clothing, he finds something in their midst: Young-shin’s broken cell phone.

Viewers have been attracted to the new romantic thriller Healer and finding Ji Chang Wook simply irresistible. However, Ji Chang Wook is not just a pretty face. He has a great personality and works hard to follow his aspiration to become a "good actor."  This up close-and-personal interview took place when Ji Chang Wook had just started filming Healer. Watch the interview to discover why Ji has leaped to be a Hallyu hot star. And he can flutter your heart when he sings a love song.

It turned out that the first thing the interviewer said was "Ji Chang Wook is even more handsome in person." The interview took place in the practicing room for The Days musical. It's a musical that utilized a lot of older but famous songs. Ji Chang Wook sang, of course, in the musical. (A clip of him singing a love song is included in the video.) The story was about security guards who worked at the Blue House. Ji described it as a "warm, touching, and happy comedic musical."

It's been a great year for him following the successful Empress Ki, a historical saga about a Korean (Goryeo era) woman who became an empress of China's Yuan Dynasty. Ji Chang Wook co-starred with Ha Ji Won, and his role as the Yuan emperor earned him accolades and propelled him to a recognized Hallyu hot star all over Asia. He just returned from a fan meet in Taiwan.

The interviewer asked Ji why Empress Ki was so popular. That's a good question because there are lots of amazing historical dramas produced in Korea, China, and Taiwan every year. What made Empress Ki stand out? Ji humbly said that the story is captivating. He finished the script in one read when he first received it. He added that they filmed in a very happy atmosphere. Ha Ji Won loved to laugh, and her cheerful personality helped create a happy feeling for him.

imgsrc_27565_1.jpg

Screenshot_2015-01-07_07.42.36_2.png

One of the most thrilling and romantic scenes was when Ji Chang Wook and Ha Ji Won raced horses on the beach. He leaped over from his horse to Ha Ji Won's horse and back-hugged her. This was voted by fans as the most favorite and memorable scene from the drama. Ji Chang Wook admitted that the result came out surprisingly better than everyone in the production team had expected.

The Yuan emperor that Ji Chang Wook played eventually became mentally unstable due to his extreme jealousy and obsession. Fans were really impressed by Ji's performance in giving an emotional yet sympathetic portrayal of the character with a complicated personality. Ji said since historical archives about the emperor were lost, he paid attention to analyzing and studying the inner personality with an inferiority complex that might have affected the character's mental state.

Most of the show was filmed in Hangzhou, China, where there is an exact duplicate of the palatial Forbidden City. His only regret was that because he was busy filming, he did not have the chance to venture out to try different foods and do sightseeing. He was asked about how it felt to wear the fabulous costumes in the drama. He gave an insider's experience that the costumes were heavy, especially with the emperor's crown. He was feeling so uncomfortable that it was even difficult to turn his head. His neck and shoulder hurt after each filming. Eventually he got used to it.

B6t-hfJCQAAe_uP.png

The conversation turned to Healer, his brand new drama. Ji Chang Wook said he was taking lessons in martial arts for the drama, and it was a good fitness routine for him as well. With the story covering social issues in addition to the romance, he felt the viewers should be satisfied with the drama. (Yes, we would agree!)

Ji Chang Wook actually started acting in 2005. His popularity increased when he earned praise playing Dong Hae in the award-winning daily drama Smile, Dong Hae in 2010, and he followed up with successful performances in shows such as Bachelor's Vegetable Store and Warrior Baek Dong Soo, His role as the Yuan emperor in Empress Ki attracted the attention and admiration of fans all over Asia.

Ever since Ji Chang Wook started pursuing acting as his calling, he has continued to challenge himself in diverse roles with projects in TV, cinema, and musicals. He even played a villainous role in Five Fingers. At the age of 27, how does he compare himself with other hot 20-something actors? Ji replied that, instead of competing with others, he preferred to constantly look for ways to improve himself to become a good actor. After studying about veteran actors and discovering that they each developed a unique style in how they approach acting, he gained the insight that there is no set rule to determine what a good actor is. He then decided that the best course of action is to not do whatever a good actor would not do.

What is his dream in life? Ji Chang Wook said he simply wished for a more abundant and happier life where he is not bothered by daily matters but can focus on acting and get along with his production team members. He believed that good things will come when he follows this goal and discipline. (Ah, I'm glad his dream is not retreating to a faraway island so we can still see him in new dramas.)

After watching this up close-and-personal interview, I can't imagine anyone who is not convinced in Ji Chang Wook's determination to hone his craft and become a great actor. I am most impressed by how much he is a "people person" by his frequent emphasis on wanting to be acting in a happy atmosphere.

Ji Chang Wook, fighting!

I am not happy with the Uncle :( i think he poses a thread to Healer but was really cool during the news conference. Great actor

So he's a villain in Five Fingers? Make me more afraid to watch it. Bachelor's Vegetable Store is cute drama, I love the strong spirit of female lead. I watched it because Wang Jihye at first because of Protect The Boss. But, just that. It's not recommend drama, too long with poor storyline. SORRY WOOKIE-SSI, JIHYE-YAA  But if you like many handsome men, it's really good watch :lub:

Yes! She is! Hope it's next episode when she finds the true feeling. WE NEED PREVIEW!

Who's uncle? Moon Ho? I can predict his action too, not only to healer, he did wrong to his ex too. Really cool that make it cold. To be very deep honest I more like Moonsik than him, lmao. SORRY. But yeah agree, he's A+++++++++++ actor.

Yesss!!!! I'm seriously loving this drama!! so into it!!! I just started watching on the 5th and now I'm all caught..can't wait for the next episodes!!!! They are so cute together especially when he tries to all weak around her. so funny!!!

Hair tips from Lee Jong-suk, Ji Chang-wook

Looking great requires a little more effort than just rolling out of bed in the morning.

Here’s a few hair pointers from the stylists who look after the hottest guys on the small screen.

restmb_jhidxmake.php?idx=5&simg=20150108 (SBS)

Lee Jong-suk, is making many viewers’ heart flutter as Dal-po in SBS drama “Pinocchio.â€

When Dal-po was an unsophisticated teenager, he wore a shaggy mop, but as he became a TV reporter, he refined his look.

His stylist said she gave him a “natural†hairstyle to create a soft and sophisticated image.

“You can volumize your entire hair by crumpling it with your fist using a hairdryer. Straight hair without curls can be fixed with hairstyling products,†one of Lee’s hairdressers said.

restmb_jhidxmake.php?idx=5&simg=20150108 (KBS2)

Ji Chang-wook, the main actor of KBS drama “Healer,†plays an errand boy, who does everything for money. After Ji was told to investigate the actress Park Min-young, he disguised himself as a reporter.

His hairstyle change has played a role in giving a fresh twist to the drama.

“He used to wear bangs without parting his hair and got soft curls to create an innocent image. Now, his bangs are thicker and heavier to display chic and sexy vibes,†said a hairstylist of Ji Chang-wook.

K-Drama Feature: 10 Male drama characters everyone wants to date Seo Jung Woo from 'Healer'

Working under the code name 'Healer,' Seo Jung Woo appears by Young Shin's side whenever she is under critical condition. He has amazing attention to detail and remembers little details about Young Shin in order to protect her. He's also quick with his feet and thinks at a faster pace than others, completing difficult tasks using his wit and knowledge. Aside from his rather cold heart, he still has a warm side and is just waiting for someone to arrive to understand and 'heal' him.

cr. http://www.allkpop.com/article/2015/01/k-drama-feature-10-male-drama-characters-everyone-wants-to-date

Youngjae had a similar hairstyle when i saw him at the concert it made him look like a kid in person but very adorable ^^

:har: No one can resist our Healer charm. A night courier boyfriend... my man

Youngjae never did curtain style one?

saw this on twitter about those bts pics you posted

"According to this Korean fan, the rooftop kiss and elevator scenes are all filmed in a building just across her house. When she looked out of her living room, she could see them filming. Even when she went out to work, she could see them too. The cast and crew are all friendly and accommodate their request for photos and autographs but requested not to put them online."

Thank you :chu:

And she still put them online? Tsk tsk this fan I'll do the same if I was her

Five Fun Facts About Yoo Ji Tae

BY Julie Jones | Jan 07, 2015 09:38 AM EST

yoo-ji-tae.jpg?w=600

Yoo Ji Tae plays a popular reporter and Ji Chang Wook's rival in the drama "The Healer." The actor also appears as a South Korean tenor in the film "The Tenor Lirico Spinto." Yoo is not only an actor but he's also an acclaimed director who has said that nothing in life can compare to the excitement of making films.

How much do you know about this multi-faceted entertainer? Here are some facts.

1. He does what it takes to perfect a role, including studying opera. For his role as the South Korean tenor Bae Jae Chul, he not only studied English and Japanese but he studied opera singing for four hours a day. The real life tenor he played lost his voice due to thyroid cancer.

And while he admits that much of the time it was lip synching during the film, he did learn how to let his voice out and embody the attitude and breathing patterns of an opera singer.

"The location of the tonsils is also very important," he said in a tenasia.co.kr interview. "Sometimes you see the veins throbbing in a person's neck when they are singing. That's not real. So I tried to sing an octave lower than the song so my tonsils didn't move and my veins didn't throb."

2. He directed the film "Mai Ratima" about a Korean man in his 30s and his mail order bride from Thailand. The film was based on an idea he had in college 15 years earlier. In the acclaimed film he wanted to show the reality of being poor and multicultural in Korea.

3. His mom raised him as a single parent and he's proud of her.

"My mother, who worked as a nurse for a long time, wants to run a hospital for the elderly someday. I want to financially help her realize her dream, and then establish an orphanage," said Yoo in a KBS Global interview.

4. Besides these philanthropic goals he has contributed to many other charitable events. He has helped to build schools, deliver free lunches to the underprivileged, helped promote the adoption of abandoned dogs and campaigned against domestic violence.

5. He is married to actress Kim Hyo Jin, who played Moon Geun Young's rival in "Mary Stayed Out All Night." The couple met when they were both models in 2003. They began dating in 2006, married in 2011 and had their first child in 2014.

"We try to share whatever ideas we have," he said of his wife in a tenasia.co.kr interview. "That leads to communication and my wife is my partner for life. I can trust her and she trusts me. I am happy and grateful about that."

The 7 personalities of my perfect K-drama boyfriend

by Amy_D on Fri, Jan 09, 2015

Kdrama_Boyfriends.png

For someone like me who loves the idea of soul mates but crushes on way too many K-drama actors, the influx of K-dramas about multiple personalities like the upcoming Hyde, Jekyll, and I has actually offered the perfect solution to my K-drama crush dilemma. I can create the perfect K-drama guy and just give him the personalities and styles of all my other faves. So here we go— my dream K-drama boyfriend and his various K-drama personalities all in one perfectly Hallyu package.

1. His first personality, and his body, are going to heal me (because he’s going to look like Healer, get it?)

Oh. My. God. I am crushing on Healer so bad. Ji Chang Wook's character is hot, charming, hot, funny, hot, and he pretty much plays a good guy the whole time — no snobby dude who learns to be sweet after 8 episodes; he is sweet pretty much right away. He's just lonely and unable to share his feelings because, hello, secret identity. And did I mention I think he is hot? Is there room in that blanket for me?

Oh, we get the article for the new still pic

[Drama] Ji Chang Wook works hard on his script in “Healerâ€

wpid-l_2015011002000472700099541_99_2015

The production team of “Healer†revealed behind-the-scenes stills of Ji Chang Wook absorbed in analysing his script without taking his eyes away from it.

In the revealed pictures, Ji Chang Wook is seen concentrating on his script in various appearances just like his ever-changing character in the show. The first is his charismatic appearance as the professional courier Healer. Even under a small light in a dark night, Ji Chang Wook’s passion not to leave out a single detail can be seen.

When he’s the clumsy junior Park Bong Su, he sticks himself next to his senior Chae Young Shin, seeming like he has already gotten into his Park Bong Su character, showing a 100% synchronisation. Prior to filming, the two actors have already discussed about the scene, and one can see the secret behind the two actors who show strong chemistry in their passion for acting.

Lastly, unlikely the character Seo Jung Hu who has no concern for the world, Ji Chang Wook shows total interest in his script. Even in the noisy environment as preparations were made for filming, Ji Chang Wook quickly gets into character when he lays his hands on the script and meticulously checks through his lines in the script.

In particular, the sight of him and Oh Gwang Rok looking at the script with a serious look in his eyes, took place during the break time when they were filming the much talked about emotional scene in episode 10, and his passion for acting did not stop even during the break.

The production team of Healer said, “Ji Chang Wook acts an ever-changing character but doesn’t show negligence even during break time. He devoted his time to the script and concentrates on studying his character meticulously. The unlimited charm of Ji Chang Wook who constantly puts in hard work will continue to fill up the rest of the drama, so please look forward to it.â€

Kolorful Palette: Open and shut [Healer]

by Fanderay | January 10, 2015

HEALER9_001.jpgHEALER9_001a.jpg

Well who knew that a drama about a night courier getting caught up in a world of news and political intrigue would be so squee-worthy? I’m not sure I would quite label Healer as a romantic comedy, and yet it has me swooning and giggling more than I have in months. It just goes to show that we don’t have be beaten over the head with fan service to experience a great romance.

It’s probably no mystery why I chose to draw a shot from the rooftop kiss scene (if you didn’t love it you’re probably watching the wrong show) but I did specifically choose to draw Jung-hoo studying Young-shin’s face because I felt like that’s what really added the magic. The way that he looked at her was filled with a tenderness that belies his other personas, but the fact that the looked at her for so long (before and after) was telling too. This wasn’t some impetuous wrist-grab kiss, and it also wasn’t a kiss planned to be the first of many. It was a single moment to be treasured, and it felt like Jung-hoo was trying to memorize every second of it.

Jung-hoo knew exactly what he was doing, and didn’t act out of weakness or broken resolve. Of course this was something he wanted, but it also wasn’t his first rooftop meeting where he wanted to kiss her. The difference this time was that he saw how much it hurt Young-shin to think that Healer kept helping her for money, and that wasn’t something he could abide, so it gave him the push he needed. It’s bittersweet for both of them though: for Jung-hoo because he doesn’t think it can happen again, and for Young-shin because she doesn’t understand why it can’t.

Although I was pretty freaking giddy when I first watched this scene, all that bittersweetness primarily makes me sad when I look at this image. Jung-hoo deserves this moment without having to hide his identity and leave it behind him. I’m glad he hasn’t turned into a pile of mush and just thrown his life aside, but a part of me wants to berate him for not just giving up his courier job, confessing, and living a normal life. I don’t think that would be the right thing to do with everything he’s currently caught up in, but I don’t think that’s his problem. I think he’s afraid to live, and afraid to be left.

I think what makes this romance work particularly well is that Jung-hoo is essentially competing with himself (instead of the typical love triangle) and that gives us a lot of OTP screen time while also allowing the relationship(s) to develop slowly and not get stale. Unfortunately neither version of Jung-hoo is quite the real him, so matter what he does he’ll feel like he’s lost, at least until he comes clean. Initially I thought that dorky Bong-soo was nothing other than a disguise, but the more I watch Jung-hoo the more I realize he’s not just badass Healer, and he’s actually adorably awkward in a lot of situations (even when he’s not putting on a show). Bong-soo also represents Jung-hoo’s emotional side, and since he can tell himself he’s just acting, he’s free to speak and feel in ways that would normally be too scary for him. As a result I think he’s starting to recognize how much healthier Bong-soo is than Healer. When he asks Young-shin out as Bong-soo it doesn’t just feel like a desperate Plan B since Healer can’t be in a relationship. It feels like Healer is someone he no longer wants to be.

A lot of the time it actually feels less like we’re discovering who Jung-hoo is, and more like we’re watching him be born. Up until now he’s never really existed in the real world since Healer is someone who lives in the shadows, separate from society. What makes this “birth†even more enjoyable is that he’s discovering the real world through Young-shin’s eyes. In Healer’s world Jung-hoo is the absolute expert, but Young-shin’s world is a mystery to him. He looks completely stunned by his co-workers’ reactions to their first live broadcast, as if he’d never thought of an achievement beyond completing a courier job before. He seems equally mystified by friendships, doting family, and Young-shin’s hilarious dancing. It’s tragic that his life has been so sheltered, but that just makes such scenes even more uplifting to watch.

What also helps this romance work is that there are none of the typical misunderstandings or convenient obstacles to make every episode feel like an agonizing drag. Both characters fully acknowledge their feelings, so there is no pining for second leads or obtuse denial of attraction. Instead of hitting our heads against the wall we understand why they’re not together (yet) and we can just enjoy watching their relationship progress alongside the plot. It’s perfection.

Anyways, back to the drawing! My goal was to make it feel wintery and soft, so I kept the colors pastelly and didn’t try anything dramatic. It’s such a sweet moment that I didn’t want the image to feel harsh or contrasty, and I think I mostly succeeded. I tried out a new medium in Corel Painter (one of the wet gouache brushes) and I think I’ll have to add it to my arsenal (although I still have a lot of experimenting to do). I kinda just want to draw Healer exclusively from now on (not that I will) since it has such great material and so much variety (if they could just shoot a few scenes wearing hanbok I’d be set).

In retrospect I’m a little embarrassed that I just gushed about romance for this entire post, but blame the drama, not the viewer! I won’t have a new drawing for you for the next two weeks, but I’ll be squealing with the rest of you in the meantime. Happy Healer watching!

Song Ji Na’s post

For a moment… my brain had stopped working.

So all I’m doing is breathing.

Taking advantage of this little break, I’m posting this.

I had promised in a “light spirit†that I would release the scripts of “Healer,†which is currently on air, once the ratings reached double digits, and it turned out to be not that easy.

Then, episode 10’s rating made double digits for the Seoul metropolitan area, while the nationwide rating is still in single digits. Many people at dramada.com are ranting about the Seoul metropolitan area rating TT So I was befuddled for a while and decided to post a short note as an appetizer, while still looking forward to nationwide double digit ratings.

This note is something…

I had scribbled down for myself…

before Healer came to this world. Before I start working on a project, I often write notes like this about each character from that character’s perspective. Then that character develops clearer. What I’m posting today is one of those back story pieces of JH. It’s short. Also, the setting of JH’s place from this note has been changed as the director found a place that worked way better. A few other things also have changed as the drama started…

At any rate, SJH was born from such notes.

Then…

.....Jung Hoo’s Behind Story.....

My house is on the 19th floor of a 19-story building in Songdo.

Thanks to my job, I was able to find out about it and get it dirt cheap. The whole building had been put up for auction, its registration process got complicated, and now it’s stuck with less than half of its lots being sold. The first ten floors did get occupied by a few stores and offices, but it’s totally empty from 11th floor and up. I had originally thought of selling the 19th floor off with some margin of profit, but it seemed unlikely that it’d get sold, and I actually came to like it a lot when I took a look at it one time out of boredom. So I decided to keep it.

It’s a space of about 200 pyeong (about 7,000 square feet) designed for office use. No partitions have been installed, so this huge space is practically empty except for a few pillars holding up the ceiling. I put in a king-size bed in there, set a couch and a computer desk somewhere next to it, also brought in a fridge, a microwave, and some exercise equipment, and left the rest empty.

I like my house. I like the fact that it’s so empty, and its view of the ocean in the far and the desolate, newly developed city right under my feet is to kill for. Also… I like the fact that it’s vacant.

At the end of this year, I’ll turn 28. To own “my own house†like this at my age. To have bought it with money purely earned by myself. Sometimes I get so proud of myself that it becomes difficult to contain my emotions.

I’m a courier. I’m quite expensive. I don’t take jobs for less than 10 million won (about $10,000 USD) each. I’ve been doing this since I was twenty years old, so I have over 8 years of experience. I’m quite competent, too. I complete my jobs with over 90% success rate. I take any job as long as it’s not about killing someone. I don’t care about morality or justice. That is my work ethic and justice for my clients.

It’s none of my business what my clients do with the items I steal for them once I hand them over. So it’s not fair to call me a thief or spy just because I steal or listen in on people. Like I said, I’m just a courier.

The secret of me being able to keep this job for almost ten years is my strict secrecy. The clients manage to find me under the codename “Healer†through their own venues of information, but all they can find is an e-mail address that leads to my intermediary. That intermediary selects (probably based on the reward amount and the ability to pay) which clients to work for and relays them to me. The intermediary delivers the clients’ instructions to me in the middle, and hands over the items to them and receives the reward for me as well. This way, the client can’t find out who I am, and I can’t find out who the client is. I’m not interested in finding out who they are, anyway.

My cell phone has only three phone numbers on its contact list. My intermediary, my minion, and a Chinese restaurant nearby. Period. I don’t keep family, partners, friends, or anything like that around. Didn’t I say already? I like empty.

My intermediary and I only contact via phone. We’ve never met in real life.

When I was twenty, my teacher, who was also my predecessor, gave me this job and I made my first phone call with the intermediary.

“Hello?â€

When I hesitantly asked, a husky female voice asked back from the other side.

“It’s you?â€

“Ah, I’m Suh…â€

“I don’t need your name. Don’t ever tell me your name.â€

“Yes.â€

“Did your predecessor teach you properly?â€

“Well…â€

“Let’s try a simple one just to warm up. …do you speak any English?â€

“Of course notâ€

“Do you even know what ‘warm up’ means?â€

“Of course, I do…â€

“Work on your English.â€

“Yes.â€

“About your first job. Can you crack safes?â€

“I know the basics of it.â€

The first job was more than just cracking a safe. I had to sneak into a huge mansion with high walls at Pyeongchang-dong, get past its line of security, and I had thought the house was empty, but the housekeeper came out from her midday nap, so I had to tie her down against my intentions, and I had put the obnoxiously barking Chihuahua in the trash can, but it escaped, so I had wasted time catching it again. That Chihuahua would run off when I went after it, then try to bite my heels when I turned around. When I finally made it to the objective, the safe, I had already spent all the time I was given. I didn’t have time to crack the safe. So I just took that whole safe that weighed about 20kg (about 44lb).

That almost cost me my job.

The intermediary viciously criticized me with no mercy.

‘The first thing about being a courier of the code name Healer is not leaving any traces. Besides, you’re a courier, not a burglar! Your predecessor just left me with this greenhorn of a pathetic thief? That bastard needs to be shredded to pieces and made into jerky for ruining my business!’

At the time, I couldn’t tell the difference between a courier and a thief. It took more than an hour to crack that safe, and there were wads of Korean and US money along with some stacks of bonds, and I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t supposed to take all those after working so hard to get them. So I was in a mental agony, asking myself about 99 times as I took the safe back to where it was. Why don’t I just take this safe and disappear? I could live comfortably for a few years with what’s inside.

It was good that I didn’t do that. If I had just quit then with that, I wouldn’t have been able to even keep an underground studio, let alone a house on an entire 19th floor as I do now.

Thanks to my reputation of not leaving any traces whatsoever and not touching even a single 1,000 won bill (about $1 USD) outside of the specified objective, I’ve experienced no shortage of customers despite my high fees. I even have quite a few regulars.

The reason why the intermediary asked about my English skills out of the blue was because of my equipment.

Somehow, she got her hands on all kinds of devices that were still under development and provided them to me with several upgrades. Because they are developed in the US, those smart devices only take voice commands in English. With the right pronunciation.

These devices don’t give a damn when I blurt out “Pahtterie (for battery)†in a hurry.

The smart glasses are usually clear but can change its color to cover my eyes when needed, and wearing them is like carrying an actual computer right before my eyes. The intermediary can also quickly analyze the information captured by those glasses and sends me updates accordingly.

For example, all security cameras connected to the police are the same as our own eyes, and once my glasses take a shot of someone, the face recognition program on my intermediary’s computer spits out all the information about that person in a split second. As long as she hacks into it, cracking someone’s car (as long as it’s a cutting edge, brand new car) or tracking the whereabouts of that car is a piece of cake.

My smart ring can touch any Bluetooth-activated device and control it, and my smart watch can work as an emergency aid…

Thanks to the fact that my intermediary is an early adapter with Otaku-like tendencies, I often feel like I’m a guinea pig for trying out new devices.

My intermediary and I split our fees exactly 50/50. I have no complaints about that.

She and I sometimes chitchat on the phone. There are times when she mentions her favorite songs or movies, and judging from their release dates, I suspect she’s an Ajumma in her 40s or 50s. One time, I called her Ajumma, and she got mad, so I decided to keep calling her that from then on.

However, her computer skills are quite something for an Ajumma. Some clients apparently had hired professional hackers to find her address, but they gave up after tailing her day and night as she led them all over the world. After all, the last address they got to was that of the hacker’s own house. If needed, she can easily crack the police server and find the right information. The dozen different identities I have were also created by her.

Sometimes, after our chats, there are moments when we run out of things to say and just breathe on, and that’s when I think,

‘Ajumma is alone, too.’

I have a dream.

In my house on the 19th floor, there is a huge picture that takes up one whole side of the wall.

It’s a picture of an uninhabited island that is about 2.5 hours away from Panama City by boat. It’s in the middle of a madly blue ocean, with dense woods, and I hear it’s even got a natural spring in the middle of the island. The price is $5.2 million USD. I’ll need more money to install a settlement on the island, plus to buy my own yacht, so I need at least $6 million USD to live on this island. My dream is to make that much money.

No matter how tough the job was that day, looking at this picture slowly fills me up with happiness. I just stare blankly into this picture and daydream about its sandy beach, building a dock there, setting up a cabin, and furnishing the inside of that cabin. By then, the gradually accumulated feeling of happiness just melts my whole body. To be honest… I don’t know what other forms of happiness may exist other than this.

DRAMA CLUB: Healer Episode 9 Recap

by Pamela Mason on Sat, Jan 10, 2015

Healer9.9.jpg

As we slowly recover from last episode’s flail-inducing ending (although not necessarily from the cold), Tiara-unni, Amy-unni, and I invite you to join us as we discuss the progression of the lead romance. Bonus? Moon Ho turns on his anger switch.

TFflPONwYqrhvEPDf6ojJloil5d6CyZieIAo8zgi

A moment of confusion and shock

Tiara: Moon Ho called Young Shin, Ji Ahn. He’s not going to be able to keep the secret for much longer. He’s not going to be able to white lie his way out because sooner or later she’s going to find out. I’m very interested in how the drama plans for Young Shin to learn about her actual identity. Why do I get the feeling it’s going to turn into heartache and pain. No Drama, do not go down the river of tears.

On a side note, that was one heck of a kiss to stupefied her. That's one lucky girl. I’m a tad sad Young Shin didn’t break out into song and dance to cope with her ordeal. It may speak volumes to her comfort level being able to bust out into song. Our Healer might be having heart issues himself. Adorable.

Pamela and Amy, what do you think of Moon Ho’s white lie and our OTP’s shock?

Pamela: This week was full of moments for my Healing Life Ruiner to induce some heart issues on my end, and Jung Hoo saving Young Shin and salvaging her cell phone makes me all the more anxious for when his double life is revealed. He and Moon Ho will have a lot of explaining to do, and both men are putting off the inevitable day when Young Shin finds out everything. Moon Ho’s lie is less him doing his job (as Jung Hoo is trying to do) as he is more so protecting Young Shin (as is Jung Hoo) and waiting for the secret-child information to explode. I also thought just now about what you guys brought up last week: how Moon Ho is helping Young Shin and deluding himself because she is Ji An. His little name slip-up adds a bit more support to that. Even so, Jung Hoo won this Save-The-Female-Lead battle. (But who will win the Tear-Up-The-Audience battle? haha)

Amy: Everyone was all shaken up after that incident and I can’t say that I blame them. I’m pretty sure Young Shin will figure out what is going on soon. I don’t know how much longer these boys can keep their secrets. I don’t think I’ll like it when Helaer’s secret comes out because it will cause trouble for our OTP and that will make me sad. I love it when they are all cutesy! I think Young Shin was a little weireded out with Moon Ho’s strong reaction. She thinks of him as a stranger, an idol that she admires and for him to react like that was probably way too strange for her.

hoVucNssYe3KPUJrW4C4iBNNYKsiPDB-FtqlKe63

“To try trusting just once, which would lead to gradually trusting more.â€

Tiara: I love this scene of seeing a young and abused Ji An being coaxed to come out of her hiding spot by Dad. I understand the fun and oddball relationship between Daughter and Dad now. The dancing and being goofy, totally makes sense why she comes across as silly. It’s a ritual for these two to express themselves by singing and dancing. Dad taught Young Shin to be ridiculous and not allow these feelings to take root. Totally makes me love Dad and am thankful she found a terrific family to have taken her in.

Pamela: I appreciate this relationship so much more now that we’ve seen the backstory, too. Young Shin is a character now who is so comfortable and free with herself, and how her dad influenced that growth makes the silliness that much cuter.

Amy: This scene melted my heart. What an awesome dad! He would not give up on Young Shin and showered her with love. Just too stinkin’ sweet! I love their relationship so it was definitely nice to see how their silliness started and it made me love them more.

DGKGUI_9452spg_YVPZPN65ua4lo-HlODY6j-aMO

Brother Against Brother

Tiara: Wow, I don’t believe we’ve seen Moon Ho angry. I don’t know about you two, but I’m kind of scared of Moon Ho. The way he just pulled Secretary Oh around like a stuff toy makes me concern over his boiling point. I can see him doing something he shouldn’t do and justify his actions as a good caused. He’s in so much emotional turmoil with knowing his brother could harm his Noona’s child and how he can’t tell her the truth. He’s truly stuck between a hard place and a rock.

Pamela: Both he and Creepyung are in that place. (See? I didn’t forget my nickname, haha…) I would like to say that I don’t think that Moon Ho would go as far as to commit something too malicious and say that the ends justify the means, but he and a few of the other male characters might be on that brink. He is freer since taking on leadership of Some Day News, but he is also constricted because of the fears of his brother’s actions and of Young Shin’s and Myung Hee’s reactions.

Amy: I’m not afraid of Moon Ho yet. To me it looked like the secretary was letting Moon Ho drag him around, like he expected it and was playing along with it. Moon Ho has been tortured by what happened to Young Shin for the majority of his life but doesn’t feel like he can do anything because of Hyung. That is what I’m assuming anyway. I think that once they tried to harm Young Shin Moon Ho just lost it (understandably) and decided not to put up with Hyung’s evil ways anymore.

tpVO1GBk3dSDe7XzvX8H0y6M9KTFns4WZ9cQo5rk

Late Night Confessions Part II

Tiara: The late night call from the phone booth could’ve come across as cheesy. Instead of a cheesy moment, we’re given such a sweet and heartfelt scene. It tickles me Jung Hoo has to compete with himself for Young Shin’s affections. These phone calls are only helping him fall more head over heels in love with her. He may not understand the feelings, but he went back to her lost phone. Young Shin also told a lie by telling Bong Soo, he was number 19. Young Shin likes the mystery and strength of Healer, but she also likes being about to confide in Bong Soo. Will she be able to see more than the dorky Bong Soo and see the Healer underneath?

Pamela: This man needs to step up his game if he doesn’t want to lose Young Shin to himself, doesn’t he? He’s been slipping out of his goofball disguise a lot lately. We viewers like to compare the drama to City Hunter, but this is one of the contrasting points: Jung Hoo’s character slips between his two identities so easily and suddenly, more so that Yoon Sung. Because Jung Hoo makes more direct and more comfortable contact with Young Shin as well, whether he’s Bong Soo or Jung Hoo, the relationship seems to be...warmer. I mean “warmer†in an ironic sense, because wow, they spend so much time outside together that they need their chemistry to keep away the cold!

Amy: They do spend way too much time outside in the cold. I’m glad they have their chemistry to keep them warm. I loved this phone call. You could see Bong Soo falling in love and it was adorable. Get your girl!

Moon Ho and Detective Yoon’s beautiful relationship

Tiara: This isn’t going to be good. Detective Yoon is now tailing Young Shin which means the police will be investigating all those close to her. I’m sort of mad at you Moon Ho for shaking hands with the Detective. I mean I get the reason behind it. He doesn’t know Healer isn’t completely immoral. Plus, he also doesn’t know Healer has a association with Moon Ho and Young Shin. Which makes me wonder how Moon Ho will react to learning Bong Soo and Healer’s true identity is Jung Hoo.

Pamela: I’m just slightly terrified for when that time comes. I am also just a tad annoyed with Moon Ho, but he misunderstands that Healer is [too beautiful to become a villain] wanting to protect Young Shin, too, and is not a murderer. With Detective Yoon investigating Young Shin and her surroundings, my main fear is that those misunderstandings will make the investigation very biased as he looks for the Healer around Young Shin.

Amy: Moon Ho is just doing what he thinks is right to protect Young Shin. I get it but I don’t want Healer to be found out too soon! Detective Yoon just needs to stay out.

“Let’s get famousâ€

Tiara: A pretty clever idea. Instead of hiding Young Shin, let’s get her so famous the risk of getting arrested for trying to kill her goes up. Good move Moon Ho, good move. This is one makeover scene, I will watch over and o'er again. Our OTP is just down right adorable. The ruggedly handsome Jung Hoo didn’t need the makeover, but I enjoyed the fan-service nonetheless. The drama did a great job to not just make him be surprised by Young Shin being able to clean up nice. I love how Young Shin gives him a once over and a failed wolf whistle as her approval over his transformation. It’s like these two are a team and partners in the true sense of the word. Let’s take a moment and appreciate the pretty before us.

Pamela: I keep laughing to myself over how “slick†Jung Hoo is, but Moon Ho is pretty clever. He was also pretty clever to set up that makeover for us. Jung Hoo was acting so adorably adamant about not being dressed up, but it was a makeover scene I never knew would make me so happy. The revealing of Jung Hoo’s and Young Shin’s transformations was done really well, I agree. There’s a mutual aspect to their relationship - although his goofy undercover impression could have something to do with it - and watching them watch each other is a beautiful thing to watch. And yes, I did that just to see how many times I could repeat that word in one sentence.

Amy: I really really really like Jung Hoo’s hair like that. I’m just sayin’. It’s nice. His reaction to Young Shin was so adorable but Young Shin was cuter. I just love them together. So much cute!

As we resist the urge to rope Ji Chang Wook to us with a vine at the end of episode nine, what do you all think of the aftermath of the “snow kissâ€? Will Jung Hoo figure out how to be happy with Young Shin? Will Moon Ho keep calm and revenge on? Will Ahjumma ever come out of her computer lair again? What do Elder and Creepyung have in store?

[Drama] Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Ji Tae – same place, different look in “Healerâ€

wpid-201501120730773885_54b2faa6aaeb2_99

Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Ji Tae are stirring interest for being at the same place but with a different look in their eyes in “Healerâ€.

Stills of Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Ji Tae visiting the car junkyard in “Healer†have been revealed.

The car junkyard that the two of them visited was handed down to Kim Moon Shik from his parents and was used as a secret hideout by the five friends who ran the pirate radio station, and the place holds special meaning to the two of them.

Although they are looking at the same direction in the pictures, Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Ji Tae show very different expressions. As though recalling vague memories, Yoo Ji Tae wears a slight smile on his face, but Ji Chang Wook does not seem to show any particular interest and stands there with a grouchy look on his face, stirring interest from audiences.

In episode 11 to be aired on 12 January, Moon Ho intends to make use of Jung Hu, but Jung Hu accepts his suggestion in order to clear his father’s name of the false charge. Tonight’s broadcast is receiving warm interest from viewers as to what could be Moon Ho’s reason for bringing Jung Hu to their parent’s hideout.

A representative of “Healer†said, “As the broadcast approaches its end, this week’s episodes will be an important turning point. A story that viewers will not be able to take their eyes off will be shown tonight, so please tune in.â€

Halftime Report: “Healerâ€

healer-park-min-young-final-800x450.jpg

After the first two episodes of “Healer,†I was intrigued but not entirely sold. The decades-spanning plot was ambitious, and the introduction of the broad cast of characters didn’t leave enough time to establish a clear thematic center. Don’t get me wrong—I really enjoyed the first two episodes. But after watching them, I felt like I wouldn’t know if I actually liked “Healer†until I had seen more.

Well, we’ve passed the halfway point of 10 episodes now, and I can confidently say that I really like “Healer.†A lot. It’s a pitch-perfect blend of action, comedy, romance, and suspense, and every episode is just a pure joy to watch.

In my First Impressions article, I discussed how much I loved Park Min Young and Yoo Ji Tae’s characters, while Ji Chang Wook’s titular Healer remained too enigmatic for me to really have an opinion of him. Ten episodes in, Healer, a.k.a. Jung Hoo (a.k.a. Bong Soo) has blossomed into a wonderful character.

It was established early on that Jung Hoo had no fondness for other people, but the revelations of why that was so really broke my heart. Abandoned by his mother after his father seemingly committed suicide, Jung Hoo grew up lonely and angry, constantly getting into trouble for fighting. After a stint in juvie, he was taken under the wing of his father’s old friend Young Jae (Oh Kwang Rok), who taught him how to be a night courier, and then left. The absolute loneliness that Jung Hoo feels, and his self-enforced separation from society, makes perfect sense in light of how deeply he’s been hurt—and it’s absolutely heartbreaking. His confession to Young Jae that he fears that he will eventually turn to suicide like his father was just wonderful, and so well-played by Ji Chang Wook, who’s really impressing me in this role.

healer-ji-chang-wook-park-min-young-fina

Jung Hoo may be an essentially dramatic character, but he’s a great source of comedy as well, especially in his romance with Young Shin, which is beyond delightful. Bong Soo, his bumbling, timid undercover persona, is such a hoot, and Ji Chang Wook’s comedic rapport with Park Min Young is fantastic (as is everything about her performance!). I could watch an entire episode of her bossing him around and protecting him. Their developing romantic feelings are also handled really well. The only problem with the love triangle between Bong Soo, Young Shin, and Healer is that I can’t decide if I want her to ultimately choose her mysterious protector or her dorky hoobae. But whichever version of Jung Hoo loses, the viewers win. These two are an absolute blast to watch together.

healer-ji-chang-wook-park-min-young-2-fi

And what of Moon Ho, the hotshot reporter who is the most directly involved in the main plot? He may not have his own swoonworthy romance (I honestly find his ex-girlfriend, ably played by Woo Hee Jin, sort of dull), but I still love watching him. Of our three main characters, he’s the one who knows the most—both about just who Some Day News is going up against, and also about the past events that connect him, Young Shin, and Jung Hoo. Yoo Ji Tae’s portrayal of an energetic, fiercely intelligent man who always has one foot in the past is just masterful. Seeing Moon Ho digging desperately for the truth of what happened 20 years ago, going up against his hugely powerful hyung in the process, is just as exciting as any of Healer’s flashy adventures.

healer-yoo-ji-tae-final.jpg

But the joy of “Healer†is that we get everything—we have a huge conspiracy, we have the mystery of what happened 20 years ago, we have an idealistic fight to expose corruption, we have action, romance, and comedy. Thanks to the combination of all of these elements, the result is an addictive, hugely enjoyable drama. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

What are your thoughts on “Healer†so far? Let us know in the comments below!

[Drama] Ji Chang Wook transforms again with suit and hip-hop fashion

wpid-150112-ed9e90eb9fac-eca780ecb0bdec9

The production team of “Healer†unveiled still cuts of Ji Chang Wook disguised as a professional office worker and university student, showing the force of the industry’s best courier, Healer.

In the revealed pictures, Ji Chang Wook shows fashion styles that are total opposite of each other and also channels a totally different feel. Firstly, he sports a faultless and neat hairstyle with an all-black suit, showing an intellectual charm along with a matching pair of glasses.

Contrary to this, he wears a snap-back cap and a lively jumper in another scene, showing a carefree attitude. He speaks to someone as he swaggers with a pair of headphones on his head, channeling a feel that is entirely different from prim and proper office worker earlier.

Ji Chang Wook plays Healer who possesses a keen sense of judgement and quality fighting skills, catching audience’s attention with his grand action stunts and chameleon-like ability to disguise himself. Ji Chang Wook, who will transform himself masterfully in episode 11, is expected to make the show more interesting with his camouflage ability.

Moreover, this stirs interest as to what could be the reason for Healer to take the risk to disguise himself as an office worker and university student, and what information he is after.
