Yeap, I am not angry anymore throughout the episodes. *smiles happily.

I love how Jeong Hoo reacted when he first saw Ahjumma. Really, it's cute. Oh, does this means that this is their first time of meeting or the second time? I am a bit confused.

I am so sad thinking that it'll be over soon.

Yeah, even that hug only lasts for a while but it's enough to calm me down. *really hope for a kiss though. sigh.

Ahh, I see. Andddd the scene where detective Yoon receives phone call from Ahjumma also is cute. They sure know how to keep the story interesting. I am okay with the lack of romance scenes between Jeong Hoo and CYS.

Yes, their first meeting. Although ahjumma knows how Junghoo looks like, plus point for a hacker, he never know ahjumma looks, so when they first meet, he kinda see her, head to toe intently, HE'S SO CUTE, and ahjumma seems shy, they make me happy, haha

Detective Yoon is cute and silly, and don't forget Mr. Do(u)ble S too

Yea, I was so angry at the beginning of the episode, but then the way Jung Hoo offers Young Shin a hug was too sweet and it immediately put a smile on my face haha!

I believe that it was their first time meeting each other. It's just the image of ahjumma in his mind may be a little bit ... too off the mark

ikr, only 5 more hour till the last episode!

This couple never fails to give us happiness

Countdown 4 more hours

[Drama] “Healer†last episode news

wpid-20150210001042055_1.jpg?w=600

In the upcoming final episode of “Healerâ€, Ji Chang Wook is seen carrying a gun in the middle of the airport with a look of determination and his gun seemingly pointed at someone.

In the photo, he aims his gun at someone while policemen lay collapsed behind him, creating a grave situation. All this while, Seo Junghu had never committed murder under any situation, making people concerned as to whether he will commit the shocking act of firing his gun.

Even at the actual film set, Ji Chang Wook has difficult scenes and requiring the combination of action and emotional acting, but he does not waver and immerses in acting with his high degree of concentration. As such, there is even greater expectation for his final performance as Healer.

A representative of Ji Chang Wook said, “Tonight, a shocking appearance of Seo Junghu will be revealed. There will be surprising developments and also perfect scenes delivered through Ji Chang Wook’s passionate acting, so please look forward to it.â€

The production team also revealed stills of the cast behind-the-scenes.

In the revealed photos, the actors are seen with smiles on their faces. Although they were busy filming a climax of the last episode on this day, the actors looked cheerful despite the busy schedule and showed a harmonious atmosphere.

In particular, Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Ji Tae showed their close relationship with an affection pose, while Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young, who showcased their sweet couple chemistry in the drama, look at each other with a smile. Ji Chang Wook and hacker Kim Mi Kyung who are meeting for the first time after 19 episodes also took a proof shot together.

With the finale approaching, the cast and staff try to ease their sadness by making use of the waiting time to take commemorative shots, using the camera to capture each of their faces and their strong The production team of “Healer†said, “Beginning with our first filming on 1 December last year, we are now left with the final station. All the actors and staff bear the same feelings as they had at the first filming and gave all their passion right till the end. As much as everyone is putting in their best effort to meet the expectations of viewers, we hope you will show us lots of interest and love.â€

I am not the best at coming up with these lol

I will miss our Monday spazzing T_T

Yeah. But too lazy to use spoilers. I like the ending though. I wish it's more.

Was expecting a bed scene at least.

Agreed. Now gonna cure this hangover by watching other JCW's dramas.

OMG you cute, thanks for voting, you can make a poll too and I'll add it there :stare:

Omg, it's over. :(

I know a drama is good when I feel a little empty inside after finishing it.

Yes

And fall in love with all the casts in it...

Hello fellow Healiebers! I've been a lurker for it bit, decided to make an account after watching the Healer finale. I'm from Kayoforum and a friend of @nutella

It's probs an unpopular opinion, but I wasn't all that happy with the finale. So many unanswered questions.

1) So Myung-hee never found that CYS is Ji-an? What kinda bs is this?

2) What happened to Moonshik and Secretary Oh? Surely they have to receive some sort of punishment for their crimes, right?

3) There's still so many things CYS doesn't know about Jungho. When she finally discovered who he was in ep 13, and went to his hideout in ep 14, I understand that she didn't ask him all the barrage of questions that one would naturally so as to give him time, but she never asked those questions. Here's what she should have asked:

When did you start liking me? Why? (Must make another reference to the leopard analogy, which was forgotten in the finale)

She should have also talked about their childhood and how they've known each other for so long, that should have been brought up in the finale too.

4) Adding onto point 3, why didn't Jungho and CYS have any conversations about his role as Healer, disguising as PBS, etc? This seems like a natural thing to talk about so that she's aware of everything.

5)The whole thing about the Russia virus thing felt rushed, why was it included in the final eps?

6) Why didn't Jungho and CYS go together and leave on the island that he always wanted? And what about having children, cats and dogs as Teacher wanted for them? The show made these nice points but never came back to them.

overall I liked it, I would have said that it would have been the best kdrama of all-time. Now, I would still rate it very highly, but mb not as high

Hello, WELCOME TO HEALER ZONE :ahmagah:

7a7a931btw1enjtmycen5g20c20e07wk.gif

OMG, thank you @nutella, but what's kayo forum about?

The thing is Song Ji Na writernim always has a heavy story line and make the viewers to make their own ending (judging from Faith), she gives all the ingredients, you must watch Sandglass, one of her masterpiece.

So I try to answer your qs

1) So Myung-hee never found that CYS is Ji-an? What kinda bs is this?

She found out, dear. In the last scene when she's in Chae office, she knew already when she watched Ji An childhood photo and no, she won't snatch Ji An from Papa Chae just because she's her real mother.

2) What happened to Moonshik and Secretary Oh? Surely they have to receive some sort of punishment for their crimes, right?

Moonsik punishment is being crazy mentally, it's the best punishment, no die is too good for him, suicide is not a punishment, yes, in the mental illness is true hell for him.

Sec Oh being a slave for Moonsik. He has high level of OCD, but he still want help Healer in the end.

Dear, Young Shin does just like Papa Chae taught her since he brought her to his family. She won't push around, want a clear reason, clear statement like 'I love you' they don't even said 'I love you' to each other too yet, what she does is wait, and the ending of this show is the beginning of Young Shin - Jung Hoo love story, so they have many times to know each other.

4) Adding onto point 3, why didn't Jungho and CYS have any conversations about his role as Healer, disguising as PBS, etc? This seems like a natural thing to talk about so that she's aware of everything.

They did. After Saboo died they talked about why he became Healer.

5)The whole thing about the Russia virus thing felt rushed, why was it included in the final eps?

Because we need the big reason why Elder must be jailed? What made the corrupt thingy happen here

6) Why didn't Jungho and CYS go together and leave on the island that he always wanted? And what about having children, cats and dogs as Teacher wanted for them? The show made these nice points but never came back to them.

The thing why Jung Hoo want to go there because of he's lonely kicking puppy before, Saboo taught him to go there, and he's just a yes man because he don't have reason to life in episode 10, in episode 18 Jung Hoo already said that Young Shin is his future

The main point is have a normal life, not in detil what Saboo said before he died  We all know, even Jung Hoo that his Saboo is just pervy ahjussi

That's my opinion, many Healerities and Song Ji Na fans in this forum => forums.soompi.com/en/discussion/2024182/current-drama-2014-2015-healer-%ED%9E%90%EB%9F%AC-monday-tuesday-22-00-kst/p1025 let's discuss there, they have better point of view than me

Hope that make you better? Or maybe more bad? I'm sorry then  This is absolutely my taste of great show is, so maybe it's just personal preference and I can't make you to love it, but glad that you like it

I cannot watch the last ep yet!!! Not ready for it to end. for those who watched the last ep, was it a satisfying ending?

Ready not ready you'll be there chingu yaa, haa haa *ahjumma voice* :har:

I'M SATISFIED! Because it's happy ending, before the last minute I just afraid it would be a sad ending  but HORAYYY I LOVE SONG JI NA

@mufcfangirl ah thanks for that, that does clear up a bit of misunderstandings I had. Btw I support Man U too haha

Oh I have 2 more questions:

1) Who was Junghos's interview for? I assumed it was for CYS's dad to allow him to be with her, but I'm not sure. And who made the questions? Cause Jungho scoffed at some of them lol. I would have liked CYS to have see the video.

2) Assuming Jungho and CYS live to be a happy couple, what about dad's approval? He never said yes to them and is still out of the loop in everything lol.

P.S this is kayoforum

NO HEALER YAA, WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO ME, MANCHESTER IS RED

Your three more qs already answered by H.K, but if you want the more detail you can ask Song Ji Na here her blog http://www.dramada.com/you must be member of that blog, she's the real heroine :D

And for kayoforum, I'll try there, thank you, I just know now

hey there ^^ lurking around i see. I am glad you joined us for the final episode

1. she did find out, it was implied that they both knew that each other knew lol they just didnt have a dramatic reunion on screen. But she knew when she went to see her and brought in food.

2. i think they didnt get a jail sentence but MS was crazy and living on his won hell. Secretary Oh well we all know he has issues. I think the farmers are still left behind they just got rid of the elder but someone else replaced him.

3. I think that is why he did the video. To answer some of the questions she has about him. Plus they have al the time in the world to find out

4. I think it wasnt necessary (?) I guess they skipped over it or maybe they did and they didnt show it idk i never thought about it. But they were always super open with each other about serious questions or misunderstandings so I would think this was covered at some point after Ep.15 (bc he said that she didnt ask any questions during end ep.14-ep.15 before she learned his real name)

5. It was what helped them bring The Elder down. Actually the plot was first introduced during ep.18 but we didnt really pay attention to it (one of those clues that we overlooked) This last ep. did feel a bit rushed bc it had so much going on but it made sense to me. The Elder acquired the help of a scientist to create a dz that would shift the public's opinion to what he wanted and that researcher assistant had proof of him meeting with the main researcher guy. When she saw MH broadcast about The Elder and asking for more evidence of stuff he had done, she decided to contact MH with the evidence she had. She was also trying to apply for asylum which was I guess one of her main motivators to come forward.

6. YOU ARE RIGHT WHYYYYY i wanted this but a rooftop hug and kisses will do.

I also wanted to know what happened to a lot of side characters. I need another episode. I wonder if they will include some extra stuff on the DVD. Overall I was pretty satisfied but I think it could have used an extra 15 minutes. I need to know what MinJa is up to

In the end this is pretty much one of my top dramas if not the top

that was what i thought while I was watching it, I guess I need to rewatch to make sure ^^

i need him to do another drama like SOON

EDIT: go spazz here too ^^

http://onehallyu.com/topic/140813-nb-tv-spoilers-healer-finale/

All hail OTL

yes we need a season 2, any unanswered plot points (inc the fake Bong Soo who the police committed the crimes) and question on supporting characters will be revealed in the next season!

As soon as the teasers came out for this drama, there were comparisons with City Hunter, and that was only helped cause PMY was the heroine in both lol. Both there really were more similarities than just being the same genre (rom-com action thriller) but also key differences - ep 19 of CH, Youngju dies, ep 19 of Healer and Moonho seems as though he will die but doesn't. Interestingly enough, if we compared each character from both dramas, Moonho would be Youngju.

Another key difference is

at the end of CH, people thought that Yoonsung died, but I thought was was really silly cause the bullet didn't even come close to his heart lol, and in Healer, we think Jungho actually dies but he doesn't. Honestly, I could compare both these dramas for awhile, both are great

And Healer's more in martial arts while City Hunter is more in gun. And I feel CH more dark while Healer is too funny to supposed to be a thriller drama :D beside rom-com-action one

Okay

1) She did find out, how did you miss that? She came in the wheelchair, they held hands and then she asked CYS father how he raised his daughter so kindly and he showed her pictures of her while CYS cried watching her mother go through her photo album. We didn't get to see her reaction when Moon Ho told her, but she does know.

2) They left it open ended, I'm sure they have to still find more evidence on the Elder and Moon Shik, they still have power. They're probably detectives still on this case.

But like others have said the worst punishment for Moon Shik is losing his sanity. The guilt is eating him up. Plus the love of his life left him forever.

3) He kind of answered her questions in that video recording. It's for her.

4) I'm assuming they had those types of conversations off screen (when he was all depressed and stuff and she was comforting him at his house), she accepts him for who he is regardless. Plus those questions were answered to the audience, so we don't need to waste time going through them again.

5) I agree, the Russia thing was rushed, but it didn't show up out of the blue, it just wasn't focused on.

6) He doesn't need the island anymore, because now he has CYS. He doesn't need to be alone. He grew as a character going from anti-social, to actually enjoying society. He even said a line like "These days I hate being alone" and then it cut to him at a PC cafe. He's a changed man. Showing us them in the future with children, cats and dogs would have been super cliche. But that's basically what will probably happen in the long run, now he can live a normal life with CYS.

Hello, WELCOME TO HEALER ZONE, let's be healerious here :ahmagah:

tUvzhrQ.gif

And all hail for your explanation :chu:

What is this empty feeling inside me!?!? Somebody helps!

You're welcome!

I only saw her in "Gunman in Joseon". I also know from Happy Together that she used to be in a girl group called LUV along with Oh Yeon Seo. Other than that I don't know much about her.

Freaking Junghoo,

He is such a bad actor! Who would wake up and look around when playing dead!

Hi there, it's nice to have you drop by on the finale! On the contrary, I do agree with your opinion that it wasn't the best finale. However, when the writer only has one episode for herself to wrap up everything, little details or unanswered questions inevitably will be left out. She just doesn't have the luxury to cover every single person in details. Hence, subtle hint (Myung-hee learns about CYS), powerful scene (Moonshik going loco), rushing plot (random bacteria development) are used to wrap things up quickly in minimal scene. I am rather impressed by the fact that she didn't completely butcher the last episode.

Regarding your last three questions,

1. I am quite positive that he is answering CYS's question here. You can clearly see him being surprised at some of the questions. I guess somewhere along the way, CYS wants to interview healer and, at the same times, wants to learn more about Junghoo.

2. As I have mentioned above, one episode is too short to squeeze everything in. This is where we need an epilogue episode! Even better a second season as you suggested!

3. If I remember correctly, the 1980 was the pirate broadcast. A car runs over CYS's mum and other people die were in 1992. CYS does not see anything. She just stayed hidden as her mom told her to. She was later found by Moonsik, but then ran off again to be lost on the side of the road hence the trauma.

kayoforum is the same as Entasia.net?

Or they are two different things? Why the two names? Would you mind telling me more about the sites?

:chu:

So, you are a kdramalover? And... YOU  KNOW HER! EVEN HER GIRLGROUP NAME :ahmagah: I can't see where the 'I don't know so much about her'

Jung Hoo is so cute, no one can't deny that fact... ck ck ck, Jung Hoo yaa, you almost got me heart attack

Gonna start to watch the drama again. This time I will focus more on the details. *before this I focus more on JCW hotness and awesomeness. LOL

Go go go, Ji Chang Wook hotness will back on screen in two years, maybe you'll stick here for a while :datass:

Ji Chang Wook said goodbye to his KBS 2TV Mon-Tues drama 'Healer'!

Ji Chang Wook shared on his Instagram on the 9th, "Today..Final filming of 'Healer'!!! Until the end... #SeoJungHoo #ParkBongSoo #Healer #IWon'tForgetIt." 'Healer' Ji Chang Wook took a commemorative snapshot with his script, and also said goodbye to his character Seo Jung Hoo with the short and sweet farewell greeting, "Goodbye..!", on his Instagram on the 10th.

Who else will miss 'Healer'?

oh I have another question lol  :omg:

so seeing as Moonho told Myung-hee the truth about Ji-an and all that... how come she didn't die from that?

WHY SO CUTE :chu:

IMO because she already know Ji An is alive? Like we know earlier episode Myunghee got seizure because stress, one of the cause that make her stress is thinking about Ji An, where her daughter is, and Moonsik always press her to believe that his daughter is died. So when she know that her long lost daughter is alive, healthy and happy, she's fine. That's a happy feeling

OMG @EYESONYU CAN WE NOT USE SPOILER NOW

It's late but I can't help it

Healer: Episode 20 (Final)

by javabeans | February 10, 2015

healer20-00181a.jpg

It’s oooooooover! Are we all still alive? And satisfied? And coherent?

Healer wraps up its run in the spirit of the rest of the series, with one more tightly planned mission characterized by twists that are fun and feel-good… and maybe also a twist or two that’ll take a year off your life. But while there are a few hairy moments, I can report that I’m still standing, still (mostly) coherent, and still happy. Thanks for a fun ride, Healer-ya! K, let’s do this.

COMMENTS

Ahhh, what a lovely way to wrap up a perfectly lovely drama! Anyone who’s lived in dramaland for a while probably knows by now that you can’t count on anything until the show’s actually over—it’s rare enough to get a drama that’s consistently good, but even when you have one, nineteen great episodes are never a guarantee that the last won’t stab you in the heart or betray your trust. We’ve all been burned before. And yet, Healer delivered a truly satisfying finale that gave me everything I wanted, and for that I’m grateful and happy, and left basking in a warm afterglow.

The final episode had its moments of suspense and unease, but also tons of warmth and resolution that left me feeling full of hope for what the future holds for these people once the camera stops rolling. That’s the beauty of the show, in that I feel like there’s a fully fleshed-out world here that will keep existing after we’ve left it, and that we were just lucky enough to get to witness one of the more exciting episodes. In fact, if we all pause to wonder what Jung-hoo and Young-shin are doing now, I’m pretty sure we could all draw rich tableaus of possible scenarios, whether it’s working as an intrepid reporting duo (like their fathers! I love that they got to retain their Healer skills, but in a productive real-world way), or bickering about little things, or being unbearably cute. Oh what am I saying, they’ll be unbearably cute no matter what they’re doing. Preferably makin’ babies?

I loved all the characterizations, and felt that nobody was wasted. There were some characters I wanted a bit more time with, but that’s because the snippets we got were endearing, or maybe the actors are unexpectedly charming (Jong-soo, you’ll get your happy ending someday! Hopefully in a bright rom-com with a heroine who loves dopey heroes and physical comedy!). Narratively, they were well-employed, and I felt like they all fulfilled their functions well.

I did wonder how the finale was going to wrap up all the storylines in one short hour, and perhaps the only answer was that the threads couldn’t be tied tightly with a bow and tons of fanservice. (Then again, fanservicey finales always disappoint me, because they feel like an extra hour where nothing happens dramatically, and we’re just watching people being cute. I prefer finales that are actually crucial to wrapping up the story, cresting in the right places to deliver payoff.) But it was a nice touch, I thought, to show us flashes of the resolutions without playing them out wholesale onscreen, like Myung-hee finding out about Young-shin or meeting her father. I’d thought I wanted the full emotional display, but when we didn’t get it, I found I wasn’t disappointed. Sure, it would have been powerful to see Myung-hee hear the words, but as I said before, the characters have been drawn richly enough that I already know how that scene went, and drawing it out too much could have felt indulgent.

healer20-00706.jpg

For instance, I didn’t want to waste screentime on characters I didn’t care about, so I’m happy to assume that the Elder goes down without needing to see that scenario. And Moon-shik’s short scene was a powerful way to leave him, in that hell of his own making. It’s grimly satisfying to know that he suffers in his own mind, and that he’s so far gone as to think himself as Gil-han confirms that he is aware of his crimes—that’s better than if he convinced himself he wasn’t actually guilty. The fact that he’s lucid for most of the day is extra haunting for him, because it’s not like he can escape into a fantasy and ignore reality. He’s literally living out his guilt every day and night, and that makes him pathetic enough that I find that a fitting punishment.

I suppose Healer wasn’t a perfect drama, although honestly right now I can’t come up with many things to complain about—I’m sure flaws exist somewhere, but in the overall scheme of things they aren’t things that linger; they don’t register as significant. The show worked on all the points that mattered to me, and more impressively, it never let me down. How awesome and rare is that? Even the best dramas can misstep in places or let you down in little ways—because frankly how could you avoid it in a 20-episode live-shoot schedule?—but Healer had a consistency and narrative integrity that remained constant at a high level. One strong episode, anybody can make. Twenty consecutive strong episodes that don’t flag in energy or tempo, which swell into crescendo and end on an uplifting, satisfying note? That’s a much more amazing feat. I kept waiting for that mid-season lull or that two-thirds-of-the-way needless angst, and it didn’t come.

So while it may not necessarily be perfect, it was, to me, a perfect drama-watching experience, striking that perfect balance point between fun and substance. And honestly, the experience was made richer by having you guys all here to squeal and thrill with, and doing so with a level of thoughtfulness, respect, and warmth that isn’t always a given, sadly. It’s never fun having your own fun marred by flies in the ointment, so I certainly don’t take it for granted and hope that it becomes the norm amongst our fandom! I thank you all for keeping the Healer craze positive, fervent, and full of love!

HOORAY HEALER SEASON 2 INCOMING :ahmagah:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! This is what I needed to hear to make this emptyness after finishing Healer go away

:rlytearpls:

@everyone

Which were your fav characters/scenes? ^^

So, I'm not cheating, just like Song Ji Na, it's the elevator scene, here the evidence :ahmagah:

i feel bad about posting again but I just saw this and I had to share

SPOILERS

copying and pasting from Soompi Healer thread

ruizaio said:
Writer SJN answered some fan questions at her website. Here are some of those.

Q: Who is JH's interview video for?
A: In episode 2, JH copies the content of YS's laptop onto a USB memory. In episode 20, one of the skipped scenes was JH printing off "Interview questions for Healer" that YS had created that was in that data. In other words, it is him fulfilling one of YS's dreams, interviewing Healer. At this point, JH thinks of the possibility of his own death as there will be many cops with guns and there's no sure way of knowing who'd shoot first, but because of the lack of time during the final week of production, the tension was lost. The ending was initially planned to be after about a year's time had passed, and by then YS would have written her book, but...

Q: Did you have the actor for the role of Healer on your mind? What was it like working with JCW?
A: It was DAEBAK! We've talked a lot amongst ourselves what we'd have done if we hadn't met JCW. I didn't know him very well, either, at first. I just knew his name because I normally don't get to go out and watch plays due to my life cycle. But then I met him by chance (at some kind of a premiers, according to SJN's earlier post), and the feeling of JH just invaded me, so I just pushed for him. I'm very proud of myself for doing that.

Q: How did Hacker Ajumma come across Teacher and visit him 5 times? I'm curious about how they started the Healer business.
A: Minja visited Youngjae in 1992. (YJ got out of prison in February of 1993.) MJ had been investigating cases related to the Elder for a while, and eventually resigns from her post when she misses her son's deathbed while investigating the Elder's money laundering case.
I think Gilhan and Joonsuk's 1992 case raised a lot of flags for the cops who had been trailing the Elder. (I trust that there are cops like that out there.) Even though the evidence Joonsuk had brought in disappeared, that means there were people out there who did the job of getting rid of them.
So, MJ must have somehow figured out that YJ was their friends, she must have found out what kind of people they were.
And later, she must have persuaded YJ into becoming Healer, as all she can do is a desk job, and she needed someone to do the action.

Q: What happened to the real PBS?
A: Remember what the Elder said about missing people in Korea? That they stop looking for them after 5 years? PBS is probably one of them. Somebody gone missing over 5 years. That must be why MJ used it as a fake identity for JH.
PBS, if you're alive and well, go after MJ. She'll figure something out for you.

Q: Is the reason YS feels relaxed when she holds onto JH's arm because of their childhood and does it also imply that they're destined to be together?
A: A little bit of that, too, but I personally wanted to express personal contact. People these days are all busy looking at their smartphones, but I think it would be better if we actually touched each other, holding hands, hugging... then you can convey way more than just by texting.

Q: How did you feel as you watched the last episode?
A: I just wanted to die. I had posted earlier that I didn't have any regrets, but actually there was one big one. Time.
I could see how the cast and crew had been under so much pressure of time. Since I'm the biggest cause of their hardships, I felt like I should die.
But as there were so many people around me at the theater (about 150 people rented a theater to watch the last episode of Healer, including some actors like Hacker Ajumma, Det. Yoon, JH's and YS's moms, Sec Oh, couple Someday reporters, etc., and the teaser of the fan project was played to them.)

Q: What is your favorite scene of Helaer?
A: I would have to say the elevator scene. It was something impossible to shoot with the time and money we had. Yet, the director told me to write it. So my assistants and I researched the design of elevators day and night and devised a way for JH to rescue her, while keeping the cost low... and while my script was pathetic, they shot a masterpiece. Afterwards, we just couldn't afford any more action scenes like that. I hope the director and the actors get to work on a movie or something where they can really flex their muscles without worrying about the cost.

Q: Why does Hacker MJ obsess so much over money?
A: That one got skipped, too. Actually, Det. Yoon was supposed to track her down and see her at a children's hospital. After her son died, MJ had been sponsoring child patients that couldn't afford their medical expenses.

Q: When did JH realize for the first time that YS knew who he was?
A: At the hospital, the focus was more on him not wanting to lie to YS anymore. YS couldn't reveal to him that she knew, and JH didn't want to like to YS anymore. Then he was relieved to find the star in the car. Then he realizes at the cafe. She knows. She says she'll wait. If JH doesn't realize after that, he's either dumb or a jerk.

Q: I could tell how you love JCW, but what about PMY?
A: Actually, I didn't know about her that well, and when I saw some of her work, the impression was: she has good diction, her voice is clear (something important for me), and that her eyes are clear and powerful. Then our director gave a strong recommendation. That she can be trusted.
When I met her in person for the first time, I could feel the aura of "I want to do it. I want to act. I really want to act properly." PMY was someone who wanted to be an actress, not a star. I'll keep on cheering for her. Seriously. What would we have done if they hadn't played JH and YS?

Q: Why did KMS leave the bug in his library even though he knew his wife was listening in?
A: I thought about that from his perspective. He finds out MY put a bug. If he gets rid of it, MY will think he's hiding something from her. No, no. I have nothing to hide from MY. MY needs to know that... This is how I felt, so that's why he left it there. (In fact, the conversation between him and Sec Oh about it was supposed to be outside, but because the crew didn't have time, they did in inside, which gave me chills.)

Q: When was the moment KMS started to believe that he didn't do anything wrong?
A: I don't really know. All I know is that he was such a vulnerable person who couldn't stand it without deceiving himself like that. I think we all have a little bit of KMS in us. I do that, too, sometimes. Going through a series of steps. Keep deceiving others, eventually start deceiving myself, and then you can only fall asleep once you've successfully fooled yourself. I had such times, too.

Q: What is the message you wanted to send out to the youth today who are put off by politics or social justice?
A: One of the questions JCW had asked on the phone was about JH telling MJ that he's just figured out who he needs to fight against, "What and how much did JH figure out here?"
My reply was about a quote I liked back in my twenties, "I can't be free if the people around me aren't free. Therefore, I fight for their freedom so that I may be free." He gave a hearty laugh and said that he got it. I think this quote was one of the messages I wanted to say to the youth. Of course, love comes before that.

Q: I saw in the script that you specifically asked for white bedding in JH's base. It doesn't seem to match with the rest of the place. Does it signify anything?
A: Ah, it had to be white. LOL I couldn't stand colorful patterns on the bedding because it was supposed to embrace the innocence of JH, and YS and JH's innocence as they'd be together some day.

Q: I'm curious about YS's missing memories of her childhood, including the man with an iron pipe in his hand.
A: I'm not curious about them at all. One of the things I absolutely can't stand is child abuse, so I tried to be as symbolic about that as possible. I didn't want to think about the details there.

Q: What triggered you to work on Healer?
A: It was something I wanted to write about before I retire as a drama writer. Something about the parents' generation and the children's generation. But as I could see that the viewership ratings wouldn't be good, I only harbored the idea in my heart. But then Director Lee Jungsub came to me several times to encourage. When I feared the most when I started was about whether I could really take on the children's perspective. I'd keep trying to lecture from the parents' perspective, could I possibly take on the child's perspective with objective eyes? Like that, I started writing the backstory of JH, and thought that it might work, and that's how it got started.

Q: What do you think we need the most to become a real adult instead of just possessing a dinosaur's brain?
A: Love boldly. Instead of being tentative without committing yourself, start with loving with all your heart. Not flirting for a momentary flutter in the heart, but to wholeheartedly love someone.
Then, it would become very difficult to let the world your loved one lives in hurt your loved one.

Q: Is Healer no more? Has it become a world that is fine without Healer?
A: I wouldn't say JH is an ordinary cameraman. I think he's a freelancer that brings in information and pictures an ordinary reporter couldn't possibly get his hands on to Someday. He probably won't make as much money as he did as Healer. But who knows? Maybe his partner MJ helps out while stealing some their money...

Q: What do you think is the right way of fighting against the Elders of this world?
A: I don't think it's worth it to fight against the elders of today. We'll all soon die and leave this world. What I fear is the youth of today becoming just like us and doing the same things we did. So don't take after us. Find today what you're most interested in doing... what makes you most happy... what you love the most. Find it and protect it.

Q: How fast is JH? He ran so fast when he ran to rescue ajumma and teacher.
A: I know. Even the camera couldn't keep up with him. I did hear that the actor likes soccer and that he normally plays as a striker.

Q: I heard that Healer is based on many real life cases. Could you tell us what they were?
A: There are too many of them, and actually citing names would get me in trouble.

Q: If you could express each character (JH, YS, MH, MJ) in a line?
A: JH: I don't know how to run away.
YS: I knew it.
MH: My crime is silence.
MJ: I had to see those eyes.

She'll do more tomorrow.

Thank you for sharing, I miss that page. I LOVE HER :rlytearpls:

WATCHED IT HAHA SORRY GUYS FOR BEING A KILLJOY AND ASKING YOU TO USE SPOILER TAGS SORRY SORRY

this is awesome. she is awesome. that first question tho. it would've made the episode better in my opinion had those points been made clear but im glad she actually took time to answer. i looooove the little details that she put in that have actual importance to the script as a whole. despite the limitations in time and resources, and the missing details, but it's still a veeery good drama. the reason behind ahjumma's obsession over money  i really wish they showed us that, even if it's just a brief scene

this is not really a spoiler. just wanted to put it in a spoiler tag lol. i thought there would be a lot of hardcore action scenes in the last episode (i'm actually wishing for some lols but that's just me coz i want to see jcw in action coz that would be so hot) but i'm still very satisfied even without those. given the limited time, the way they wrapped things up with subtlety is kinda nice.it's like we know the characters so well already that we can assume how things happened despite being not shown. it's also surprisingly a fun,a little lighthearted, episode (or is it just me again?). i found myself smiling and laughing a lot throughout. what a way to end an intense drama. tbh i didn't expect that i would get some laugh until maybe the last 10 mins, because that's how kdramas usually are lol. healer surprised me with a lot of things, JCW included. the guy's really, UGH. he played the role of jung hoo, bong soo and healer soo endearingly im so glad he's Healer.

the way they ended the drama somehow made me feel less sad because im actually very satisfied with BUT STILL I FEEL SO EMPTY NOW. I'M GOING TO BE REPETITIVE HERE BUT I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH. i found some of my favorite kdrama characters and scenes ever in the drama. how do i move on, please? if anyone knows, PLEASE lmaooo

Because you love spoiler, I put your post underspoiler, haha

Ruizaio said that she's answering 50 qs from fans :rlytearpls: The kind of her

Eeyy, you, still killing the joy. And I thought everybody are married in final episode because JCW bed update, he's killing the joy too, like bias like fan.

NOT JUST YOU! ME TOO! REALLY FUN! ESPECIALLY IN PAPA CHAE AND SON-IN-LAW SCENE :ahmagah: But you point out in last 10mins, that's Jung Hoo bad acting with blood pack? :har:

Ikr ;___; are rewatching all Healer's episode kind of move on act? ;___;

The ending was so not satisfying!!!

no wedding? no reuniting with mom? no elder thrown in jail?

i really wanted to see secretary go crazy cause of his cleaning obsession.

what about detective oh and Hacker ahjumma relationship.

ugh

Still love the drama though!!

no wedding? too young, no much time, their ending kinda rush

no reuniting with mom? they already reunited, you missed that part :D

no elder thrown in jail? based of Song Ji Na ans from nutella's post below yours, OROSHIN WAS DIED :ahmagah:

i really wanted to see secretary go crazy cause of his cleaning obsession. he already is. His OCD is so worst

what about detective oh and Hacker ahjumma relationship they're just supporting roles :D

I think my fav was when she told BS that Healer was her crush or the kiss in SH's apt

I have so many fav moments how to choose.

I also love the hand kiss on the last ep.

I cant move on  I am going through withdrawal

I also wish we got to see those. I also saw this (some scenes that were shot but had to be cut from the final episode    these were all really good scenes, we needed a special episode tbh)

cr. probably from soompi but i saw on twitter

OFC BED SCENE IS EVERYONE FAVE  :chu:

AND YES, THEY STILL BROUGHT THE HAND PORN UNTIL THE VERY LAST MINUTES :rlytearpls:

Thank you. I love Song Ji Na again and again. So, Sec Oh killed Oroshin? :har:  It'll be great if Sec OCD got suicide after that :megusta: I'M SO SATAN, SORRY EVERYONE ;___;

Be aware for my long posts, I'm sorry

about to watch ep 6 right now but omg i love the drama so much already and cys and jh is so cute together

______

omg jcw is so cool and awesome

watching the elevator scene right now and

All agree!

Please continue to comment as you watch it cause it makes me feel like I'm experience it again for the first time

:rlytearpls:

i mean i thought i would only get some laugh in the last 10 mins like how it is in other kdramas (where we would have all the drama and tension in the first part and then the happy part in the last minutes only) but the fun and tension were well distributed throughout the episode.

but to answer your question, jung hoo acted well with the blood pack, but moon ho is even better

day 3 after healer: i still can't move on

My bad, hahaha. Aww, you fell in Moonho oppa ahjussi winks too?

Another Monday, still can't move on ;___;

yes it is true. A fan on soompi got in contact with the writer and she got permission to post translations on a blog that she will make (so she asked for ppl to not take her trans out until she combines them all together in this blog)

budget and time cut our ending but thankfully now we know what the writer had in mine and some scenes that were shot but were not aired.

Day 3 and I refuse to move on too

And another bts, and 2hours kissing scene bts, and NG kissing scene bts :ahmagah:

I want a Healer season 2, though most things of the story seem complete :(

Another question lol omg... What if Jungho told CYS that he was Healer early on, and didn't lie to her? I could see this having a number of advantages.

1) More cute moments with no misunderstandings from either party.
2) She can help him on his missions.
3) She wouldn't feel as though her feelings were manipulated as she did when she found out who he really was in ep 13.

Just imagine, in ep 6 how she talks to him about her new crush and says that it's a night courier, and instead of being like 15m away from her, he walks about right directly behind her and says to her, "a night courier?" and then she turns around lol.

Or the ep 9 telephone convo and how she longs to see Healer, and then he romantically tells her to turn her head and look behind her, and then boom, he's there.

Then Bongsookie won't be exist... ANDWAEEEEE...

I miss ahjumma

pg 1077 of the Soompi Healer Thread, and it has pt 2 of SJN's fan questions

Q: Do you have any thoughts on working on Healer 2?

A: Not even in my dreams at this time. My energy is totally depleted. Even playing video games is hard for me right now. (sobs)

Q: Did JH take Teacher's ashes to the South Pacific?
A: If the ending had turned out to be after 1 year had passed as planned, of course he'd have made that trip by then. Along with his woman by his side. JH wouldn't be able to say much, but the woman by his side would be chattering nonstop as they scatter the ashes.

Q: When Det. Yoon asks MJ whether Healer is good for this world, MJ doesn't answer. I want to know your and MJ's thoughts on that.
A: I think that one should be answered by the viewers of Healer. Now that you've watched all 20 episodes, is JH good for this world or bad? My thoughts are your thoughts.

Q: There were so many scenes of JH and YS holding hands. Did you have any special reasons for that? From your personal experience?
A: Not to mention Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam or the contact between alien and earthlings in E.T.,
Yes, I like holding hands. The contact, the connection, the warmth that spreads through the hand... things like that.
MY always extends her two hands to hold the other person's hands.
I think I miss that touch more and more as the cyber world takes over reality these days.
Think about it. When the day comes when androids prevail (although it already feels like 20% of the active people today are androids), you wouldn't be able to tell just by listening to someone talking whether they are real humans or whether they really mean what they're saying about me.
My hope is that holding hands will help you there. ... I don't know what I'm saying.

Q: What heals you when you're having a hard time?
A: Family!

Q: When you first started writing Healer, I wonder if there was a scene that you had in mind from the beginning, a scene you wanted to write the most. If not, which scene left the biggest impression after you finished writing Healer?
A: Regarding the scene I wanted to write before I began writing? ...beating up president Hwang Jae Gook? LOL I wanted to write stuff like that every day, but I think I would have been reported for writing such a violent drama.
The rooftop kiss scene at the ending of episode 8?
The man breaking out of his shell and the woman accepting that man as he is without any regards to his status?
(Sounds better than it really was... I wasn't sure how to describe this feeling at first, and I was glad to somewhat portray that with the kiss scene in episode 8.)
The scene with the biggest impression after the writing was over... was what was also used as the ending of episode 19... the four of them ascending on an escalator. Regardless of which generation they belong, they were standing side by side to work on the same mission...!

Q: I want to know more about how this drama came about - any episodes or ideas that came up as you discussed with your assistants.
A: At first they are all fragments. Various images... episodes... we just talk nonstop. Then the assistants write them down and organize them. Then we talk more on those. It's like matching the pieces of a puzzle of the story.
Once the casting is complete, the characters are made to fit the actors, then we follow the imagery.
For example, things changed a lot after YJT accepted the role of MH. There was going to be a hint of a love triangle between MH, JH, and YS. But we decided that MH portrayed by YJT was enough without that. (in response to a similar question, she added) YJT was an uncle enough to love and care for them without that kind of feelings.

Q: Did you originally plan a sad ending? If so, at about which episode did you switch to a happy ending?
A: It was going to have a happy ending from the beginning. When JCW came to the studio for the first time, I told him the ending as I explained his character. We just kept that path. One death and a new beginning. Only... at the time, I was planning on taking my time with a proper ending. My first thought was for JH to fake a crash while on an aircraft. Sorry, JH.

Q: What happened to KMS and Sec Oh after they lost their leader, the Elder?
A: KMS is admitted to a facility, and MY visits him once a week. MH might visit him once a month or so.
Sec Oh still works for the farmers. Eww... I hate it.

Q: Looks like JH quit being Healer and became a reporter, what is MJ doing? Would you have considered MJ and Det. Yoon's romance if there had been more episodes?
A: JH is not an ordinary reporter, but a freelancer specializing in digging up stuff, so he'll continue to work with MJ. I think he just won't make as much money as he used to... but MJ might think differently.
As for the romance with Det. Yoon... Good luck, Det. Yoon!

Q: Did you intend the symbolic meanings in the character names? For example, I thought MY stood for a warm glow of this age and democracy, MS for the facade of capitalism that devours the media, and MH for the protection of media that doesn't yield to the control of money. I also wonder about how JH and Dae Yong met, and how DY and the delivery guys came to work for JH.
A: I did see the dictionary reference about the meanings of some of the characters. I was very surprised. (in response to a similar question later) One or two of such meanings were intended, but the rest were decided by the general impression of the characters. (You can find a translation of the part about character names at the bottom of this post)

DY is the only person that really works for JH, but she has a lot of friends, so those delivery guys end up helping her a lot. At first, I had planned on featuring those delivery guys a lot, and spent the time to include a scene of what they do for fun, but because of the restraints on action scenes (budget and time T_T), we couldn't incorporate them a lot, which is really sad.

Q: MS seemed to have lost everything after MY left. Why did he think he was Gil Han when he was drunk? Did he want to become GH because of his jealousy or his yearning for MY's affection? Or did his guilty feeling after that incident cause him to deny himself? If so, he could just as well claim to be Joon Seok, but why specifically GH?
A: MS could never forget GH. The only person MY loved. Someone who hadn't committed any crimes. Jealousy, envy, and guilt. I think the only way to get rid of all those was for him to become GH himself.

Q: Could you give an advice for people aspiring to become writers?
A: First advice: don't become a writer! Second advice: Observe people a lot. There are many aspiring drama writers who only watch dramas a lot. I wish they'd be observing people... Listen to what they say and think about why they'd be acting that way... I think that's how you train yourself to become a writer. Reading books is the biggest help in figuring out what people think. Good books always contain what people think.
Think. We spend so much time without thinking. Writers especially have to think a lot.
...is the advice coming from a writer who doesn't think much.

Q: How did YS know about Healer even before she met him?
A: The reputation of Healer must have spread discretely somehow. That way he'd get clients who'd hire him.
There's this guy called Healer, who only deals with top class information and is extravagantly expensive...
Apparently, he's a special dealer of information in the world of politics and business... He doesn't just take any job just because of the money.
If rumors like these went around, what reporter wouldn't want to meet him?

Q: How come people just believe that the dead person is somebody with a different name (PBS), face, and body build when the goons that worked for the Elder and were arrested all know that it was JH that died?
A: This was an interesting part. Now there are two types of people who know JH. People who only know the picture on the wanted poster. You can take care of that by supposing that MJ deleted the video file and switched out the picture.
Those who had actually seen JH... are those that JH will have to avoid as he works as a freelancer. This is why JH works as a freelancer and not an ordinary reporter that works in the office. How would he get away when he comes across people who know his face... maybe he'll just say with a straight face, "I hear that a lot. That I look a lot like someone." ...that would be thrilling.

Q: The scene where MY says in teary eyes, "Where are you, Min Joo (democracy)? I'm here!" made me cry. Did you have a specific intention with this scene?
A: I really liked that part, too. I thought it might have been nice if she had been smiling there, too.
Min Joo also somewhat symbolizes YS, so it can also mean that MY knows who YS is (although I know this is a flaw of mine to have so many things that only I am privy to)
Or it can also mean that Min Joo is right here, she didn't go anywhere, but we'd been ignoring it this whole time...

Q: East or west?
A: The instinct of going straight. No conflict! Always the first one!
(If YS had asked, west or east? JH would have answered, west!)

Q: What is the meaning of MJ always knitting?
A: MJ is supposed to be donating to a children's hospital. So she knits things to give to the children there or other orphanages. Also, when she's not working with JH, there's nothing else for her to do. Just spacing out in that space if she's not knitting. So knitting is her way of killing time.

Q: Towards the end of episode 20, YS is wearing glasses as she drives. I don't think it's for her eyesight. Is there a specific reason?
A: Ah... haha. It's Healer glasses. And that would have required CG work, but because we didn't have time, I didn't say anything about that in the script. Just had her wearing glasses.

Q: When Gi Young Jae went to the hospital where MY was admitted, KMS tried to explain his excuse. Had YJ listend to that, what would have happened? When KMS was taken to the Elder, that might have been the only choice he could make in order to save his beloved MY, right? If KMS had chosen to go against the Elder, could MY have survived?
A: KMS's excuses would have been a series of lies that even he himself couldn't really buy.
Had KMS gone against the Elder, MY might have died. Instead of living like a human vegetable for decades. I don't know which one she would have liked better.
Today we live in houses with good heating, with clothes, without starving... but do we become happier in proportion to the size of our houses?

Q: What kind of life would MY lead now?
A: She got a job as the Writer of Editorials at Someday. She visits MS once a week.

Q: Does JH continue to live in his place or does he set up his honeymoon nest somewhere else?
A: I vote he still lives in his place! But with better heating system! Honeymoon... lol... I'll call him and ask, did you guys go on a honeymoon trip?

Q: What kind of people is Sec Oh supposed to represent in today's society?
A: I think there are a lot of people like that around today. In the Prosecutor's Office... the National Assembly... People who don't have their own opinions and have become mere voting machines or a dog... people who don't feel any guilt. Sec Oh's character was made to symbolize such people. Which is why... he's so hard to get rid of.

The knitting answer is interesting, because didn't someone here say that she knitted in remembrance of someone who died, like a child of hers?

Anyway I love her answers, so funny haha. Although a lot of her interpretations of how the story unfolded or would unfold in the future (the future of the chracters after ep 20) weren't really hinted or mentioned at all

I love her :lub:

Who said this "she knitted in remembrance of someone who died, like a child of hers?"

I ever said he knitted for Junghoo-Youngshin children :imstupid: Sorry

So she likes playing video game, how cute ;__; And yeah, she put everything, and viewer can do what they want for the ending. That E.T. thing already used by MLFTS, and Healer isn't alien, so he passed :D And wow, how she works with her assistant, it's team work, and produced a masterpiece ;__; OMG SONG JI NA HATE OUR CUTIE SEC. OH... while I'm fanning about him, lol. AND OMG YOON-MINJA IS LIVE! Even east-west question have a meaning ;__;

I'm her fan...

This is a link to the full playlist of the Healer OST soundtrack, which I want to discuss.

I absolutely loved the soundtrack, from old faves of Eternal Love (oooooooooooh my loveeeeeeeeeee) to Ben's You, to the emotional and stirring instrumentals

Some played a lot more frequently than others, though there might have been a few I hadn't heard before, and this track caught my attention- Youngshin's Dream.

I don't remember this track playing in the drama and it's a shame because it's so beautiful. I read the post before from SJN answering questions from fans, and how time constraints and costs stopped her from doing some things she would have liked, such as Youngshin releasing her book and more on the interview that Jungho answered for her. If this song played during then, it would have been perfeccctttttt. Oh well
One more thing, where are the instrumental tracks for the songs with lyrics?

Yes, action and sageuk drama always had a difficulty financial ;__; too many cuts here and there but just make the drama moved fast from scene to scene that make less boring. Love Healer :rlytearpls:

im about to watch the final ep... im excited and sad

I love your new dp :rlytearpls:

Be aware with my long post, do you miss Healer? Do you want healing time?  :rlytearpls:  Be aware with random quotes too

well cant help it, im always gonna feel like this everything i finished watching a drama i really like

and right now i feel like i want to watch it again from the beginning lol

Healing time, it's Thursday, but you can rewatching Healer episode again, remember the first skinship ever? No, not the bus scene but hand clipping one, wohooooo

I avoided watching the ending for days. Now that I have finished it, I feel like I should have stalled even more. What am I going to look forward to on Mondays and Tuesdays now?   About the ending, I wasn't as satisfied with it as I could have been but after reading the interviews, I've become a bit more understanding towards the rush of it all.

All the possible scenarios we could have had if only time hadn't been the obstacle

HELLO WELCOME TO HEALERZONE, YOU ALREADY BECOME HEALERITIES ON VALENTINE DAY

7a7a931btw1enjtmycen5g20c20e07wk.gif

I still can't see the 'rush' thing, lmao. Just personal preference tho, I mean, since the beginning this show always run quickly from scene to scene, even the first kiss...

I STILL WANT THOSE 2 HOURS BTS KISS SCENE!

But hey, possible scenarios Song Ji Na already stated is in the viewers, you can make the happy ending your version

The last ep...everything was so good but the last one was kinda rushed =(

HELLO WELCOME TO THE HEALER ZONE, ON VALENTINE DAY TOO \o/

B-rgMmVUcAE9WMP.jpg

At least we get the two kissing scene in the last minute, cheer up  and yeah, all the mysteries all resolved

Catching episodes of Healer on KBS World helps relieving my withdrawal symptoms. Delaying the inevitable though!

Yea, I am pretty much a kdramalover. I used to watch a lot of dramas at the same times, but nowadays due to my busy schedule, I only watch one series at a time, and only drama that is highly recommended. Hence I am visting Dramabeans quite often. I usually wait for a series to end then do a marathon. Healer is an exception though!   What's about you? Are you a kdramalover?

Regrading Hye Bin, I have KBS World on my TV, so I can usually catch most of KBS dramas and variety shows. So when, Gunman in Joseon was airing, I got to know about the casts a bit through Weekly Entertainment and Happy Together. The only bad thing about KBS World is that it is on a 4 weeks delay comparing to what being aired in Korea. Too long of a wait for Healer!

Those scenes ...    I demand DVD with uncut edition. A second season would do nicely as well!

Depends on the video quality and for what reason you are downloading. If it's HD, then you can expect more than 1gb for each episode. If you just to watch it on the go on devices, you can opt for a lower quality for smaller size.

Cool... so do dramabeans team... and ofc Healer too... I am, years ago, but no for now, so glad I found Healer and liking the plot and start to livestreaming, this is gold! :rlytearpls: Monday always been beautiful, and now become blues again TT__TT Have no drama after Healer, watched KMHM, HJN, Hogu's Love, but dropped it... waiting till show end or if Kim Woo Bin and Kang So Ra new drama is good, maybe let's do livestreaming again! Those hotties! Or another Ji Chang Wook new drama! He said he'll enlist to army next year! \o/

Is Hye Bin a good actress in her previous drama? She has another new drama, but I see her kinda awkward in Healer... Somehow I hate cameo, prefer Mr. SS to has more screentime TT__TT

I'm gonna start watching it again tomorrow probably   I would tonight but I have the mafia game.

Healing time! Let's rewatching Healer again :ahmagah:

Why am I the only one posting here? Is this thread dead now??

Y'all fake Healer fans ditched me!

I don't see you posting here again nowadays... are you a fake Healer fan too? :har:

LOL. You need to calm down. We are not fake healer fans okay.

Healing time! It's not Monday though

yeah we're fake as hell deal with it

IT'S MONDAAAAY!!!!!!!

no healer

IT'S THURSDAY! :ahmagah:

we are recuperating from Healer withdrawal T__T

I am awaiting all the upcoming JCW interviews and the Q&A from the writer ^^

It feels so sad that it is Monday but not Healer

There're still many interviews from them :ahmagah:

... to be continued...

but before that:

Ji Chang Wook's Interview Extract re: Healer
News source: MSTOO.ASIAE.CO.KR (Sportstoday, Journalist: Lee Jae Myung)

Ji Chang Wook expresses pity in regards to the TV ratings

Actually, I didn't purposely check out Healer's ratings. Although in the beginning, at times, I was a bit curious. However, as it gets to the latter stage, I started to think if there was a need to see these figures; so I didn't particularly go & find out. But then in the end, people around me will tell me, so I didn't know it because I wanted to know, it's more like I just get told (laugh). The ratings has increased, and it decreased too. There's nothing to be done about that, although it's a pity that it's sitting at number 3 in the end; but because the atmosphere on film site was really good, filming was fun, so I was very happy.

Ji Chang Wook on Song Ji Na and portrayal of Healer / Seo Jung Hoo / Park Bong Soo

It is through Healer that I felt when a writer fully trust the actor, how blessed that actor is; nothing else makes me happier than this. It is because Writer Song Ji Na trusted me like a mother that I had the confidence to perform. She's also like a teenage girl; she can't say harsh words. I am usually not the type that will contact the writer, but this time if there is anything I don't understand, I will definitely call her and ask what is the implied meaning in her script.

This character - Seo Jung Hoo - isn't easy. I already felt the difficulty of it during the initial character set-up. For example in Empress Ki, Ta Hwan is a distinctive character, but Seo Jung Hoo's character isn't very clear. Although this wasn't shown in the script or his action. I even thought 'he's so dark that whether he's psychotic?'; but then once I read the script, he actually has an intelligent and also a humorous side, that throw me off as I don't know how to portray it. It's the same situation with Park Bong Soo. I ponder if I should completely portray him as another person, or add in some pureness when portraying Seo Jung Hoo - this troubled me a lot.

Although my character is very important in Healer, but it does not rely just on one person to complete the project. In order to perfectly portray Healer, a lot of people gave me help. Even though on-screen we only can see that one person, but in reality, it comprises of many people's hard work. Not just Yoo Ji Tae hyung, Park Min Young noona, but also many other casts and crews. Everyone work together to create Healer and made (the show/him) shine; I am very thankful.

Ji Chang Wook on love scenes with Park Min Young

It's the first time I worked on a project with that many love scenes. When the first kiss scene appear, I thought, "Ah, it's about time to have it." However because it continues to have kissing scenes in the script, that's when I start having the feeling of, "Again?" Maybe because the writer thinks visually we look beautiful in this sort of scenes. Actually when the kiss scenes came out, my friends later asked me whether it felt good, but whenever I shoot this sort of scenes, I will become very sharp and focus. So I didn't think about whether it's good or bad.

Another thing I felt really lucky is that Min Young noona boldly accepted it, and we have very good communication between us. We constantly exchange our thoughts 'What about this method? What about that method?' That's why the love scenes came out so beautifully.

Song Ji Na full Q&A trans here

http://morumoruisland.blogspot.com/search/label/SJN

Following part to the SJN's Q&A post (backstories part) as she addressed this later when Actress Kim Mi-Kyung (Hacker Lady) posted her goodbye to Healer.

Q: How were the scenes of the remote conversation between Healer and Hacker Ajumma shot? How did you time the dialogue so perfectly when they must have been shot separately?
A: This was what I had worried the most from the beginning as I started writing the script for the first episode. Ajumma and Jung-Hoo don't meet, and they aren't shot in the same room. Yet their dialogues had to be tightly knit almost to the point of overlapping. So a lot of preparation went into this.
  1. Before shooting, the actors came to my studio several times and worked on getting the rhythm and the feel down, building their characters and working on their teamwork. This was the first moment I was impressed with actor Ji Chang-Wook. The recent trend is that scheduling a meeting with a young and famous actor is quite a complex process like organizing a summit of the two Koreas, having to go through many steps starting with their personal assistants and what not. However, Chang-Wook always called first and asked to meet with me, wanting to practice more, and just showed up by himself ready to take notes. On top of that, when he showed up and saw rookie actors practicing, he even helped them practice by taking part in their dialogue. I was very surprised.)
  2. Even so, after editing the first shooting, the rhythm wasn't there, with too much pauses between lines. (Somebody from the crew read the lines of the other party to the actor while shooting, but that just didn't work.) So we started wondering if both actors needed to be present for shooting, then the director decided to make a phone call with Actress Mi-Kyung before shooting Jung-Hoo's scenes. So they'd get the rhythm down via phone and shoot Jung-Hoo's part first, then edit that footage and show it to Mi-Kyung before shooting her part. Then Mi-Kyung would act her part following that rhythm. Later on, we didn't have the time to shoot and edit one side first to have the other actor watch it, but by then, both actors had already become fully incarnated Jung-Hoo and Min-Ja, so...
  3. I can imagine how the final edit must have been difficult. Even after steps 1 and 2, there would have been awkward pauses and the whole credit should go to the editing team for cutting and pasting word by word to make it flow naturally. The credit for the split scenes goes to the directing team. Getting the rhythm down that the writer couldn't possibly create from her mere script writing were thanks the dedicated efforts of the two directors (plus the editing director) who would pull all-nighters in the editing room.

Hello ChangMin shipper :har:

Another PMY article was released on 01.03 .2015~~ from TheStar Chosun interview~

Actress Park Min Young praised Ji Chang Wook's sense of humor.

In a recent interview with The Star, Park Min Young said, "I'm not great at other things, but I have a good sense of humor that can match male actors. I was able to film happily with my male co-stars in the past."

She said, "In contrast, Ji Chang Wook is quite boring. Before the filming of "Healer", one of my worries was: I'm someone who loves to have fun when filming, what do I do if my partner is boring?", stating her worry back then.

In order to get into the character of hoobae-sunbae entertainment news reporters in the drama, Park Min Young lets go of the awkwardness of their initial meeting, and approached Ji Chang Wook first in order to get close to him. She said, "This is what I said to Ji Chang Wook: All entertainment news reporter sunbaes call their hoobaes "this kid/boy", so it's okay if I treat you casually too, no need to be nervous, we'll just do it this way."

She continued, "I'm not the type of person to quickly reply back on KakaoTalk even with my mom. But when I see a message from JCW come, I'll quickly reply back with "Yes, I ate already," and in doing so we got close fast. I had worried what to do if the KakaoTalk chat turn out to be boring too, but good thing they're interesting. Later on, through his character JCW's gag level rose up to 1-2, it became legendary status." She gave a big thumbs up after saying that.

Thank you :rlytearpls: Is that a love confession? Are they officially dating? /praying circle/

These are another interviews:

SSTV interview

Min Young: "I browsed DC when Healer ended ,there were so many thoughts that I could not read all. Writer Song gave me links as well and I read many comments from overseas fans. There were some people who did specialized analysis that was even better than mine. I really appreciated it when reading so many comments. Sometimes I take a screenshot when I see touching comments which I feel are like gifts"

"How do you feel about your love scenes with JCW?"

Min Young "My last kiss in drama was in Glory Jane in  2011. After that, it was a kiss blank period,so I enjoyed acting romantic scenes in Healer(laughs). There were many love scenes,so every time when reading a new script, JCW would ask me "are you ok?" Even when encountering difficulties, he guided me. I just followed him without any burden. JCW  is like a spoilt child, he made the atmosphere of the shooting site more comfortable."

"There was a shooting scene on bed, almost no time for me to feel weary,JCW asked the staff  to put a heating pad on bed. In one of the scenes where I had to sleep, I really slept off. PD said"Young Shin, just sleep like that"

"‘I was surprised by Yoo Ji-tae's affectionate nature, how happy his wife must be! He bought coffee for me when he heard I liked coffee. He has put his wife and baby's picture as his phone wallpaper. His eyes are full of love, just as they describe in romance novels."

When talking about her ideal type, her eyes opened wide "He should look sharp in appearance, stay modest and reliable, and it will be best if he is humorous! I have never met my ideal type before,so the so-called "ideal person" is just an ideal."

â€I am always ready to be a bride, but I can not get married because I haven't met that person. I always thought I would get married at 27,and now maybe before 35? Love? Now I don't want to depend on something. This is the first time that I can live solidly without affection. Of course love is nice, but now I want to give all my affection to acting and work like an ox".

Love bird ;__;

yay, I finally finished Healer.

it was a really enjoyable drama overall. there were things that didn't make sense along the way, but the show was entertaining just enough so that I could ignore the plot holes and still appreciate all the other stuff.

i'm slightly disappointed with the last episode though. it didn't do a good job tying up loose ends. i feel like a lot more could have been explained if there was more than an hour to the episode.

Hello, WELCOME TO HEALERZONE :ahmagah:

That's why we really need Healer Season 2 (tho I so satisfied with the ending :D), but writernim doesn't want to do it, hope she'll change her mind soon :rlytearpls: or at least special episode (1 or 2)

Ji Chang Wook Will Enter The Military In 2016

BY Adrienne Stanley | Feb 24, 2015 07:49 PM EST

ji-chang-wook.jpg?w=600

Ji Chang Wook has been on a media blitz since the completion of his hit KBS2 drama, “Healer.†Over the course of three days, the breakout star provided a large number of interviews to Korea media.

In an interview published on February 25 by the Korean outlet Asia Today, he weighed in on “Healer†and his upcoming military service.

When asked about his military enlistment plans, he said, “I will go early next year.â€

In the interview, the 27-year-old actor expressed his appreciation for the legions of female fans who flocked to “Healer.†The series held up against fierce competition from “Punch.†Many viewers were attracted to the combination of romance and action that was presented in the drama. The article noted pivotal moments in the series included the rooftop kiss.

He spoke positively about his upcoming year and his goals. He said, “This is my year to live happily.â€

He is an accomplished actor with previous credits including “Empress Ki†but his role in “Healer†has helped the actor leave a lasting impression on K-Drama viewers.

In an article published by the Kpop Herald, Ji noted that his performance in the Korean musical “The Days†would serve as his last theatrical performance prior to his enlistment.

In the interview published by Kpop Herald, he enthusiastically spoke of the differences between acting on stage and in a drama. "Being on the stage has different charms from appearing in a drama. In front of the camera, you have a chance to do it again, but you don’t on the stage.â€

Ji Chang Wook plans on entering the military on a high note, with a soaring theatrical and drama career.

while healer pt 2 would be amazing I think the writers are wary of dragging it on

better to end it cleanly than taking the risk of mediocrity

Man Crush Monday: Ji Chang Wook’s Seo Jung Hoo in “Healer†

MCM_Seo-Jung-Hoo_Feature.png

Seo Jung Hoo. Park Bong Soo. Healer. Whichever name he decides to use, Ji Chang Wook‘s character in “Healer†has completely captured my heart.Completely. I used to laugh at how cute Soompiers were by always telling me my man crush of the week is “more than just a Monday crush. He’s myeveryday crush!†But now, I know. Now, I understand. And I just want to say that I hear you, Soompiers!

It might be strange that after more than a decade of dramas, my most perfect man turns out to be such a recent one – as in three weeks ago recent – but if you knew Seo Jung Hoo, then you’d understand. Wouldn’t you? Of course, I didn’t say that he’s perfect because he’s truly without flaws. After all, where’s the fun in that? I say that because his flaws are part of what makes him beautiful and head over heels crush worthy.

There is so much I can say in praise for “Healer†and Seo Jung Hoo, but I’ll settle for simply stating that “Healer†has dramatically raised the bar for all future dramas and I fully expect to wait another decade or so before seeing one that will come as close to my definition of perfection as this drama. But instead of simply taking my word for it, we should let Seo Jung Hoo speak for himself. If you haven’t fallen for his charms, then you will after this! (Spoilers ahead.)

1. He’s hilarious.

Unintentionally so, which is the best type of hilarious to be. I guess we can’t really blame him since he’s never been a people person… until Chae Young Shin, that is. Running away in sheer terror from a hoard of women who only wants to dress him up for an undercover mission, attempting to peel potatoes with an alien object that confuses him (It’s called a peeler, Jung Hoo! And it’s a wonderful invention!), and peeling the outer layers of an onion like he’s actually carving into an apple are just some of his funny antics. Oh, let’s not forget that prankster Young Shin tricks him into touching his eyes with fingers full of onion juice. LOL.

His facial expressions during those precious moments can make anyone fall over laughing, but none are as knee slapping as his shocked and startled faces. The Healer fans call it his “WTF face.†Here’s just one example of many:

2. Seo Jung Hoo is simplistic.

MCM_Seo%20Jung%20Hoo_Simplistic_zpsjqlkh

All he wants is a deserted island! How much more simple can he get? Okay, okay. That’s actually pretty complicated, but Seo Jung Hoo had already acquired 64% of the funds he needed to buy his own island. Pretty ambitious and hardworking, eh? He doesn’t really enjoy his job as a night courier; it just pays well and helps him build his ultimate goal of kicking back and relaxing all by his lonesome, surrounded by sand and waves.

When he meets Chae Young Shin though, Seo Jung Hoo’s dream becomes even more simple – to live a normal life. He wants to be like other everyday people. Settle down. Get married. Have children. Hold a normal job. Spend his days with the love of his life. Be happy. This time, truly, how much more simple can he get? He’s not picky at all about the material items and he only needs Young Shin by his side. That’s all he needs to feel fully and completely content.

A nice bonus would be Jo Min Ja, lovingly referred to as “ahjumma,†and Kim Moon Ho‘s presence and friendship. Together, the four creates a perfect team – their own little Healer family.

3. He’s the perfect blend of Seo Jung Hoo, Park Bong Soo, and Healer.

MCM_Seo%20Jung%20Hoo_Teamwork_zpso4rpw3b

Although he’s stuttering Park Bong Soo by day and fierce Healer by night, Seo Jung Hoo isn’t always putting on an act. He possesses qualities from all three of his identities, molding him into one gorgeous male. Gorgeous inside and out, that is. He has the vulnerabilities and loneliness of Seo Jung Hoo, the confidence and intelligence of Healer, and the awkward innocence of Park Bong Soo. There is absolutely no way to pinpoint which traits are his best or which part of him is my most favorite because all of his qualities mesh together so well. He wouldn’t be who he is if any aspect of him changes and I can say with 100% certainty that I’m glad he was consistent and developed from beginning to end.

P.S. Seo Jung Hoo didn’t even need to consider anger management classes like so many other male leads! He’s not nasty, foul-tempered, or short fused just because he could be. Ever. Wow, daebak (awesome)!

4. Seo Jung Hoo doesn’t suffer the Noble Idiocy Disease.

tumblr_nh8abanuiD1ql66nmo1_500_zps5fntka

But then, neither does Chae Young Shin! Which makes the two of them a perfect, perfect match.

There has been misunderstandings and consideration for each others’ well being. There has been doubt and the uncertainty on whether to trust or distrust each other. There has been a lingering fear that they’ll only bring each other harm. But never, never, never did Seo Jung Hoo and Chae Young Shin allow that to deter their relationship in any way. Instead, they take time apart from each other to carefully consider the situation then they talk to each other about it. Open, honest, emotionally raw conversations.

Hey, who knew such a thing existed in Dramaland! And who knew problems could actually get solved this way! Leave it to two young people entering their first relationship to show the world how it’s done! It’s no wonder I totally love this OTP.

5. Seo Jung Hoo has smooth moves.

tumblr_nhybixfVKi1ql66nmo6_500_zpsctvh5p

Scaling the walls. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Crashing through windows in the blink of an eye. Taking on a dozen men all by himself. Surprise visiting his girlfriend by using her window as an entryway. Fighting through the effects of sedatives like a real champion. Seo Jung Hoo totally sizzles whenever he leaps into action, especially since he’s so polite about it at the same time. I couldn’t help but chuckle when he apologized to the mother and child he startled when he cut across their living room for a shorter route to his destination or when he thanks President Hwang after giving him a much deserved beating and breaking into his safe for an external hard drive.

I’ve never been a big fan of baseball caps and all black ensembles, but on Seo Jung Hoo, it’s undeniably swoon worthy and even Park Bong Soo’s adorably clean and neat outfits are no comparison.

Bonus

Intense stares. Boyish grins. Charm and charisma. Odd terms of endearment.

High up places. First snowfall. Small hands. White bedding. Hair.

The sound of camera shutters. Large hands. Smiling eyes. Big embraces.

Things I don’t like? Everything that keeps me away from the very things I like.

He's my everyday crush too :rlytearpls:

we never get to know Young Shin's last memory about speeding in the car which is the cause of her fear of driving. It was never explained.
___

I thought she said the cars weren't speeding past her but from the way she said it it was as if she was in the car which was speeding? Idk that was the impression I got from what she said all this time. Also it makes more sense for her to have trauma of driving if she were in a speeding car rather than cars speeding past her.(if she were like the case you said, I guess she would develop another trauma instead of driving, for example a trauma where cars speeding past her). That's why I'm baffled when it was left unexplained until the end.

___

Yeah I remember that flashback but I think it's different with what she said about fear of driving. At least that's what I think.

What I mean is cars speeding past her =/= actually riding in the car. If the cause of the trauma of driving is the same with the flashback, it doesn't make sense to me since she only saw cars speeding past her not actually riding in the car. Although drivers usually have to pay attention to roads it's not that related with she seeing cars speeding imo.

From what I remember Young Shin said the cause of her fear of driving is her memory being in a speeding car. I could be wrong but if what she meant is cars speeding past her... it still doesn't make sense to me tbh.

Welcome :ahmagah:

Bold: people who have trauma usually avoiding the triggers. She's avoiding driving relate. Just like if you have fear of heights you'll avoiding tall building, airplane, and height relate. Okay acrophobia isn't trauma, still I think it's relate (I'm not psychologist too, cmiiw). Same as here I guess, she's driving it or someone drove her or just passing cars, she avoided them. That's why we just see she rode bus in early episodes, but somehow Jung Hoo kinda changed that (love heals by Healer :har: )

i dont remember tbh lol

i just remembered the car speeding past her part but i might be wrong. Didnt really paid too much attention to that lol, what didnt make sense to me was how she got over it by being with JH but whateves like you said drama land ^^

Please rewatching it again :har:
