The forum was called "Tajinyo". It got so big, to the point at which the media started spreading articles regarding it. Even the public started believing the haters. Tajinyo even went as far as contacting Stanford to ask if Tablo did indeed graduated from there. When one of the lecturers who taught Tablo himself, confirmed that Tablo was indeed his student, they attacked him and said he was lying too. No matter what evidence Tablo provided (his degree, his friend's support, etc), they still think he was lying. Tablo even went to Stanford with a TV crew, to prove that he was indeed a student there. But there was still backlash. Eventually YG took him in and helped him release his solo album. The amazing part was that his solo album charted well. The music was gold too. Tablo then went on a few variety shows and talked about how hurt he was. (and it wasn't those typical 'boohoo, I am hurt' rant. Like you can tell, he was indeed hurt. He also looked very uncomfortable to be on set.) And then Tablo brought Epik High over to join him in YG. And that's how things are now. Tablo graduated from Standford in 3 years and people were saying that he lied. Tablo didn't take it serious at the beginning because he is a rapper. Having an Ivy League degree wouldn't help his music career but people wouldn't stop attacking him. I think they were posting dead threats. It was out of control. Tablo showed people his diploma but people were saying it was faking. Some of his friends from Standford were attacked when they vouched for him. I think Tablo's brother or his best friend lost his job because it it. He got really depressed and his old agency didn't do much to defend him. They didn't renew his contract when it expired. He had to take a reporter to Standford, request a copy of his diploma with his passport, and luckily some of the professors remember him and vouched him. This was knetizens at their worst and hard evidence of where the false sense of entitlement, anonymity and security that Internet access gives people can lead. This could so easily have ended as a needless tragedy. The sad part is instead of learning from it, I'm seeing Inetz replicating a lot of this kind of behavior. Maybe because it tends to be on my mind because I'm her fan but Bom's case kept coming to mind as I read the details of what horrors Tablo had to endure. Of course it sucked more for Tablo bcos he did nothing at all wrong and Bom did have a transgression which she was legally absolved of due to vindicating circumstances provided for by the law. Here are the parallels I see however: -an issue that needs overseas verification - refusal by accusers to accept any form of explanation or evidence - conspiracy theories (see the whole false age drama) -attacks on any one that defends or brings positive info about the target -amateur detectives, lawyers and forensic experts springing up and carrying out own investigations -tabloids stoking the fire - fake cries for "truth" and "justice" - GodBlo/Park Druggie -general mob behavior It's actually kind of sickening. More and more I see why after their initial attempts at defense and explanation YGE backed away from the mess like it was a live grenade. Anything you give them becomes like fuel to their bitter fire and they just get more agitated. Better to starve that witch hunt fire with silence.
