When guys are expected to pay for the majority of the dates and such.

Depends on the culture. I've heard in certain cultures women expect men to pay for dates. I won't stand for it. I work and make my own money, I see no reason why you should pay for something I can perfectly afford myself.

On the subject of chivalry, there is courtesy and there is chivalry.

This is not the 1500s so screw chivalry which quite frankly is seriously misunderstood.

There is courtesy which to me is that I think a man should hold the door for a woman just out of respect. I happen to be female but out of respect hold the door for senior citizens and a pregnant lady or a mother with kids. She can obviously hold the door herself but it's courtesy.

PS. To answer the question, If he wants to pay for sex he should get a prostitute.

Traditionally, it is expected that guys pay for dates and such. Were girls expected to put out back then?

Not really, no. Not in general, at least.

Chivalry is pretty one-sided.

What. The. Fuck. :wth:

Let me articulate.

Tradtionally, guys are expected to shell out a lot of money for their woman. Logically, they must get something in return right? If someone is spending so much money, they want to get a return on their investment, correct?

Is there something not clear?

You don't just hold the door open for everybody?

I don't mean I slam the door in people's faces who don't meet this exception but in the case where I am walking through a door and see a lady with groceries let's say. I would open the door for her and let her pass then go. But if it's like a crazy crowd, I hold the door for whoever is next. I mean I am not saying a guy should hold the door for endless hours while ladies flock through. It's like a seat on the bus. I tend to give my seat on the bus for certain people.

I don't know why there has to be an expectation for someone to pay anyway. My boyfriend and I have always just either taken turns or whoever wants to pay at the time. It's not that big of a deal.

Prostitution isn't legal in a lot of countries. Also prostitute have a risk of harboring potential STD's.

I certainly wouldn't want to stick my dink in a hole where a lot of dink been  in.

Do you even logic?

So if a guy pays for the majority of dates, does he usually get sex in return?

I mean if he is paying so much for a chick he needs to get a return on his investment right?

What do you think?

Do guys still have the final say/more power in decisions regarding a relationship?

LOL what is this

We're in 2013.  Just saying.

Not entirely sex.

I was just using sex as an example of a reward for paying. I been there has to be an incentive right? Return on investment?

I already listed reasons on why prostitute would not be ideal. I am using logic here.

Also, you don't "date" a prostitute.

Your turn.
