Kang Ha-neul broadens acting spectrum through play debut

 

Actor Kang Ha-neul (Sam Company) Actor Kang Ha-neul is seeking to broaden his acting spectrum as he is readying to debut in a play “Harold and Maude,†his agency announced Monday.

“Despite his tight schedule in both movie and drama filming, Kang had a strong desire to act in a play and is honored to make his debut with famous senior actress Park Jeong-ja,†the agency said. “The play will provide a great opportunity for him to develop further as an actor.†

 

Kang Ha-neul from "Misaeng" (tvN) So far, Kang had experiences in various acting fields including musicals -- “Thrill Me,†“Assassins†-- and television dramas -- “The Heirs,†“Misaeng.†The actor has also acted in three films, “C’est si bon,†“Twenty†and “The Age of Innocence†which will be screened possibly next year.

The play “Harold and Maude†is to begin in January at Seoul National Theater.

Kang Ha Neul Unable to Join “Misaeng†Cast Vacation

Discussions are currently being held for a “Misaeng†cast vacation to Cebu from December 22-26. Though plans are not finalized, cast member Kang Ha Neul will not be able to attend, due to a previous commitment scheduled during that time for the stage play “Harold & Maude,†which is his first play in his acting career.

 

A rep from his agency shared that since “Misaeng†was a project with extremely good teamwork, Kang Ha Neul feels disappointed that he won’t be able to attend, but will channel that energy into putting on a good performance on stage.

 

Kang Ha Neul plays Jang Baek Ki on “Misaeng,†a new employee with an impressive background who struggles to prove himself.

′Misaeng′s Im Si Wan, Kang Sora, Byun Yo Han, and More

to Ride ′Taxi′ in New Year′s Special

 

The actors of Misaeng will be appearing on tvN′s Taxi.

On December 17, tvN stated, "tvN′s Taxi New Year′s Special will have Lee Sung Min, ZE:A′s Im Si Wan, Kang Sora, Kang Ha Neul, Byun Yo Han, Kim Dae Myung, Tae In Ho, Jeon Seok Ho, Oh Min Seok, and Lee Kyung Young as guests. The recording will take place on December 20 at IFC Mall′s M PUB in Yeouido with a talk show and a time to show the actors′ talents. 

"The Misaeng special will air on January 2 and 3 through tvN," said tvN. "The Misaeng will be recorded with an audience, and audience applications will be accepted on December 17 starting at 6 PM KST through Misaeng′s official Facebook. Each person will receive two tickets and a total of 100 people will be invited." 

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name by artist Yoon Tae Ho, tvN′s Misaeng is about the realistic everyday battle of the worker ants at a corporate company. 

The last episode in the 20-episode series will end on December 20.
