hi everyone!

 

i'm naminé and i'm new here on OH haha. I decided to make an account after lurking for a long time~ 

I recently got into kpop and it's pretty much taken over  :rlytearpls:  I really love f(x), especially their Red Light and Pink Tape albums. I also really liked the Nu ABO mini. I also like Shinee, Teen Top, Miss A, C-Clown, BTS, Vixx and Orange Caramel. I'd love some suggestions for groups and songs since I'm still relatively new to kpop in general.

As for suggestions, I'd suggest T-ara, Kara, Brown Eyed Girls, 4minute and Secret. As well as Nine Muses and Wonder Girls, but as of now you can't tell if they'll actually ever return...

T-ara have a ton of great, catchy pop singles (best in kpop imo). They've been around for a few years and released a lot of mini albums. They've gone through a few member changes through the years but are back at the original six members now.

Some other great songs include Cry Cry, TTL, Like The First Time, I Go Crazy Because of You, Number Nine... And their first album as a whole.

 

Brown Eyed Girls are a veteran girl group and not as active anymore. Still, they do come back with songs now and then, and all members have released solos too. They're noted for their singing ability (and comparatively old age).

 

Other great singles are: Sixth Sense, Cleansing Cream, Leave Ms Kim, Come Closer and LOVE.

Their latest album, Black Box, is a work of art too.

 

Kara is one of the longest-lasting girl groups, having debuted back in 2007. Despite that, the members are all quite young. They've gone through a couple of line-up changes too, but the core of the group remains.

 

Other great songs are: Lupin, Mr, Mamma Mia, Damaged Lady.

 

Secret is a 4-member girl group who are known for changing between cute and more sexy images between comebacks. They also have some of the tougher dances among girl groups.

 

Other songs: Magic, Starlight Moonlight, Shy Boy.

 

4minute is 5-member girl group who've changed their image/sound quite a bit through their career. Most of their songs are funky or silly though.

 

HuH, Muzik, Love Tension and Hot Issue are all worth listening to. 

 

Finally, Wonder Girls is a legendary girl group who haven't released anything since 2012. But there are rumours that they're preparing for a comeback and they have a lot of massive hits under their belt that helped shape kpop.

 

Other hits include Like This, Be My Baby, Tell Me and Nobody. 

Nine Muses is a bit more recent but their future is up in the air after their most popular member, and leader, left the group. They had the best releases in kpop last year, so it's a shame.

 

You should also give Dolls, Glue and Ticket a listen.

But I'll try:

 

 

​I definitely say that you should listen to EXO (me being biased here  :imstupid: ). I definitely recommend that you listen to Growl (the Korean version is better to me, but the Chinese version is pretty good too)

 

For girl groups, Girls Day, 9muses, Mamamoo are suggestions. SNSD too perhaps

 

And as a bonus, I'll add in some bands. For that case, I'd say AOA (during their band era. Their current era is good too though), CNBLUE, and the Royal Pirates.

 

Don't trust me though, I just got into K-Pop this January  :imstupid:

Welcome to OH! Try T-ARA if you haven't already, and my bias of F(x) is Sulli and my favourite song is Nu Abo:DD

I haven't really listened to a lot of T-ARA, but seeing has a lot of people have recommended them I'll listen to some of their songs today. (: i can't choose an f(x) bias lol  and my favorite song is either Ending Page, Paper Heart or Dracula.

I suck at suggesting groups but maybe you'd like to check out BtoB, Mblaq, Beast, Spica, B1A4 :D Haha no idea what kind of style you prefer but just throwing some of my faves at you :lol:

Thanks for the suggestions! I know BtoB a little; I really like Peniel. I've listened to a Spica song and they've caught my interest. B1A4's beansprout dance is legendary  :imstupid:

Thank for the lovely and detailed suggestions! My favorite members in f(x) are everyone I can't decide probably Amber, Luna and Queentoria. My favorite members in Miss A are Min and Fei.

 

I like Secret but haven't listened to them a lot and the Brown Eyed Girls have caught my interest; the Nine Muses sound cool as well.

Amber is my favourite f(x) member (tied with Sulli) and I don't really have a bias in Miss A tbh... although perhaps Suzy or Fei are a bit ahead.
