If they are not combining albums for EXO and Shinee, then Soshi should be ranked first [285,140], Jo Yong Pil second [230,378], EXO-K third [206,812], Shinee 4th [182,483 Part 1 of their album], EXO-M 5th [172,144] and Shinee 6th [131,488 Part 2 of their album]. If they did combine the scores then EXO would have 378,956 albums and Shinee would have 313,971 albums; so it would be EXO at number 1, Shinee at number 2, Soshi at number 3, and Jo Yong Pil at number 4. So what is going on? Did they only combine Shinee's sales and not EXO's as well?

Although I am against the inflation, EXO aren't number one because EXO-M and EXO-K are considered to be independent groups which they basically are. However, SHINee's album's have been sold separately and should therefore not be counted so tldr exo-m, exo-k are different groups, SHINee's albums are different albums.

They are combining SHINee albums, that's why it's written "SHINee 3rd Album: The misconceptions",

they are not combining EXO's instead, because a korean music show/award show will never count a chinese album together with the korean one...that's why last year only EXO-K won the rookie award at the SMA

You can't combine the sales of 2 different groups that operate in 2 different markets...

Pre-order announcements are usually bullshit but I reckon that that figure could easily have included copies of the album sold in China, and or digital copies as SM usually keep the lies and bullshit to a minimum in their announcements etc

I was trolling but anyway, yes preorders are simply how many albums the STORES ordered. If the stores decided to buy up 500,000 of Exo's album it's their fault they aren't going to sell all of the copies. lol.

 

A lot of EXO fans took that to mean that EXO had SOLD 500,000.

It wasn't so much trolling but an equivocally accurate statement.

 

But I'm not surprised given that very few exo stans are over 14 years old and have any knowledge of the working of any entertainment industry.
