Whose/which group's fandom is H.O.T?

H.O.T is the group that Tony An was from. One of the top groups of 1st gen kpop

Funny how Tony An is Hyeri's ex. Hyeri is in a group with Minah whose sister Linah is in a group with Ami who MC's a show with Tony An.

It seems this Tony An guy has a thing for younger women.

Younger, as in, women who are much younger than him.

 

Tony An is Hyeri's ex, who is still in her early 20s _{^{(correct me if I'm wrong)}}, while he, considering the fact that he's someone from the 1st K-pop gen, undoubtedly isn't a figure of young age. Whatever the gap had been in between Tony An & Hyeri, certainly was not small. Although Ami is likely older than Hyeri, the statement I have made doesn't change.

 

I imagine that Girls' Day company handed this MC role over the Zenith. Its too awkward for Hyeri's ex and anyone from her group to work together. They don't have any other girl groups in their company so whats the next best option? 

 

I'm just wondering why its not Linah instead of Ami because Ami isn't even the most popular member anymore. Linahhas the closest connection to Girl's Day so maybe that is precisely the reason why they didn't choose Linah. Might be too much awkwardness if its Linah and Tony because they're too closely connected, whereas there's a good chance Ami hadn't even met Tony An before this. Plus even though Ami is only the 2nd most popular in Wanna.B she has a better chance than Linah of becoming an "it girl" because of her youth and her visuals are closer to what is popular these days (classic korean beauty, little to no plastic surgery, curvy body type).

 

Hyeri and Ami are the same age. Tony An is 38. I don't know if its Hyeri that likes older men or Tony that likes younger women, or both. Don't know who they dated in the past. Whatever it is they're both adults and its not relevant to Wanna.B so I don't care to know.

Speaking of the role of 'MC', I'm getting the hunch that if Siyoung had not felt ill from right at the start of "Why?" promotions, she could have been the one to MC in place of Ami. I mean, it is Siyoung who have had a couple or so solo activity MC-ing for Zenith so Ami, being one of Wanna.B's ace to lure in possible fame, putting on Siyoung's shoes to co-host a variety show and MC alongside Tony An logically makes sense.

 

And I agree with what you said, about the inevitable awkwardness that would have brewed within Linah's & Tony's presence if they were paired together as MCs.

However, let's always watch over her and pray that she never has to, let alone choosing to herself.

Nah I don't think it would have been Siyoung. She doesn't have enough popularity. I think Siyoung did the MCing for Zenith because it was Taeyeon inspired style videos and Siyoung looks like Taeyeon. Siyoung is kinda shy so not ideal for MCing. She does well on Afreeca TV and those Zenith News videos but on real shows broadcasted on tv she goes into her shell. Even on radio shows she gets shy. Ami is never shy or nervous. You can count on her to deliver when it comes to anything. Ami is Wanna.B's ace.

 

Yup Ami is natural. She hasn't had any plastic surgery. I used to think she had something done to her nose bridge because it does look plastic in some pictures, but now I see that contouring or excessive photoshop is the culprit (mainly photoshop). Her nose in press pics and selfies don't look like that at all. They really gotta stop doing that to her nose. I don't mind the makeup contouring but excessively photoshopping her nose looks cray.

There are a few members who have had PS but I won't say which ones

None of them are plastic monsters though. The ones who have seem to only have had only 1-2 minor procedures.

I'm tempted to make a thread regarding the matter of comparison whilst fully aware of the consequences that I might receive as a result.

 

I wouldn't make a thread for that unless I wanted Wanna.B to get more hate just as it was dying down, but its up to you.

Now that you have posted the video here I wouldn't be surprised if someone makes a thread for it anyway.

Its not really going to help Wanna.B in any way. It won't even get them extra views because people will watch that video instead of going to the official MV.

About that Tony An guy.

Like young girls is not the real issue. If the girl is not a minor, this is not a problem. The problem is that this guy is also a former criminal and Hyeri was a minor when they were dating. He almost was arrested while he was still with Hyeri, it could have ended very badly to her.

I'm glad they broke up. Really REALLY.

Oh thanks for telling me that. I didn't know Hyeri was still a minor when they dated. That actually disgusts me.

How is this guy even getting to be on shows left and right if he is a criminal? JTBC2 do better.

Can we replace him with another H.O.T member? Or with a 2nd Wanna.B member?

@Entropy: I have had this uneasy feeling about Tony An ever since Wanna.B's schedule for Ami appearing as a co-host MC with that guy was announced. After knowing an important portion of incident about him; which of course, had to involve Hyeri, that we weren't aware about, has put my thoughts into its rightful position and that I wasn't exaggerating.

That might be why they couldn't get a top girl groups for the show. Nugu groups have to accept whatever they can get.

I'm not happy with Ami having to working alongside of someone with such a poor reputation but I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Once the show is over Ami now has an MC job under her belt and can move on to bigger better things.

I kinda-sorta have never understood the aspect of becoming an ambassador of a franchise by someone/group etc.

 

The only thing about a superhero concept is it could go tacky very easily. It would have to be super tasteful. Or if its on the tacky side it would have to be comedic. Fantastic Four concept could be tasteful.

 

 It really depends on what they are doing as ambassadors. I can't imagine it would do much for fanbase growth but it could get their name out to the general public.It also looks good on paper to be able to say that your group were ambassadors of fraud prevention and promoting healthy diet. I think of it as something that could open up other opportunities.

 

I don't expect Wanna.B to ever have any huge growth until they find their own niche. Aside from 'Attention' their concepts are too similar to what's already been done by more popular girl groups. They don't have an identity yet. They could have went with the muscle-dol thing but their company dropped the ball on that one. Crime fighters/ambassadors with strong choreography can easily be their thing and set them apart.

I think their company just want them to be a cosplay/concept group but that's too broad. Any girl group can be that. Its not unique enough to make them stand out. There's so many groups in kpop now so you want to stand out not blend in.

After WANNA.B's new and improved line-up, it is likely Linah who holds the title for "the most popular" member in the group.

 

Yeah its Linah, followed by Ami. Siyoung seems to be 3rd internationally but I'm not sure where she stands among koreans.
