Very heart warming and agree with everything op said, I also hope Jongin could say a word to express his feelings at that moment :( watching his fancam even made me more emotional. Kai, who most of us see as the powerful dancer actually still a young man. Jongin, is such a sweetheart. He can be really cute sometimes i wanna hug him too so i'm glad Yixing was there to comfort him. Their hugs and smiles are sooo precious

When Suho kept passing the microphone to Lay at the MAMAs, he was making the point that Lay is Chinaline duizhang now. And unlike Kris, who is so naturally laid back, and Lu Han, who was hesitant to take that Leader role, Lay wants this. Lay really stepped up. Not just with that AMAZING speech about "Black taking on a new definition" but in the way he looked out for Kai and others. He was assertive, affirmative, concise and powerful. It's been building for a while, but this seems to be somebody who knows what he wants, reads people and situations well, and says what he thinks (as a number of Chinese press articles can attest to). I think he and Suho will make a good team.

I...felt like..Kai wanted to tell us something... I mean the fans and everyone....  Did you feel that too? This thought still bothers me....

 

And yes to everything you said about Xing.... It feels good to know that someone noticed... It is very rare to see someone saying something like this about Lay.

I always used to tell my friends, fellow EXO-stans that...they're gonna come back stronger than ever the next year, and that they are gonna slay like always, and after listening to Xing, saying the same thing with so much conviction and passion...I could actually feel myself fired up immediately.

So much fire and passion in him and his words.

I love reading his messages...to the fans... always so thoughtful and sweet... I feel like I'm a dongsaeng while reading his messages... orz But he is younger than me...

 

And I'm going waaaaay off-topic...but I really dont understand why "some" fans blame Kai for getting too many teasers during the debut? And state it as a reason for disliking him??? Like..?!?!?!?!?!? He didn't choose to do it... SM did! And also...it must have been so difficult trying to remember all the choreos and recording them!!! He must have worked hard to film those teasers and I just cant with people who state the number of teasers he got...as a reason for disliking him!!! Do you guys understand the pressure behind it? and being the face of the group?!?!?! Okay...I'm rambling now...but....that was what kept going through my mind the whole time...while looking at those gifs which I shared....  He has so much pressure on him as the main dancer...and face of the group...and he always works so hard even through injuries and sickness...and uggggghhhhhh! And then all these things that happened to EXO this year....  all the things they've been through...

lol, I'm feeling emotional too.

 

To be honest, I wasn't sure whether Kai wanted to send a message to the fans at all. I felt, at first, that he was so closed off that he was completely emotionally checked out. Almost to the point of numbness. I wasn't sure if he even heard the cheering or noticed the fans.

 

Then I watched his solo and Overdose performance and could see that he is still living and breathing dance. Then I saw this vid today:

 

 

 

Can you see how obsessively he is practicing his routine? He has performed this solo many, many times, but he still gets nervous about remembering all the moves and doing it right. He still gets nervous about performing in front of his peers and industry professionals.

 

In a way, it reassures me because I can only imagine that a lot of Kai's reaction to winning the awards and getting emotional was in part due to those nerves. 

 

About Lay, yes, I'm sorry I never acknowledged it before. I love all members of EXO but sometimes I devote more time to following what my bias is doing etc. I do remember watching all the Happy Camp episodes and seeing how assured Lay was compared with other members of EXO, how in his element he is on Chinese TV in particular. He is himself, but he is also confident and funny. He seems to handle nerves very, very well. He loves to communicate with an audience.

 

This speech was a wake-up call to haters, to SM, to people in Korea maybe. Lay is here to stay and he is strong, so nobody better mess with him! I guess I hadn't noticed his strength before because he is quiet and sweet and only brings out this fervour when times call for it. But for sure, I am impressed and for sure more people are paying attention to him now.

 

Kai gets the haters going sometimes because they accuse him of being all looks and having no singing talent. He has a sweet, boyish singing voice which I really like actually, but when you have D.O., Baekhyun, Chen and Luhan doing 99% of the vocals in the group, what can you do? Just focus on the dancing -- which already takes a lot out of him. Plus visually, his face is compelling (IMO) so that's probably why SM choose him for so many teasers.

 

But he is not the only one who gets attacked. Suho's dad (and by extension Suho) was accused of being pro-Japanese right-winger, and it's not true. The father is going to sue. These kind of malicious rumors are taken seriously in Korea and China, both suffered heavily under Japanese occupation in World War 2. It was an attempt to make EXO and its leader look bad and unpatriotic.

 

Kai's messages to his fans SLAY me. My dp is the selca he took from his last EXO-L message.  He is extremely mature for his age, and he's smarter than many people think.He is always very sweet and thoughtful and sounds very unspoiled and normal. As much as I have a crush on Kai, I admire him as a person and a talent just as much.

Sometimes I think I must separating Kai with Jongin.

Kai is a talented dancer who have strong moves, has that eye-appeal, visual attention even Jongin is one of sweet shy maknae, usually standing behind quitely who love girl with integrity... he is different on and off stage

 

I love how Lay give his attention to his sweety maknae...
