The Official Haikyuu!! (�イキュー!!) Manga Thread

Synopsis

Junior high school student ShÅyÅ Hinata,

gains a sudden love of volleyball after seeing a national championship match on TV.

Although short in height, he becomes determined to follow in the footsteps of the championship's star player,

nicknamed the "Small Giant", after seeing his plays.

He creates a volleyball club and begins practicing by himself.

Eventually five other members join the team by his last year of middle school,

but they are defeated in their first tournament after being challenged by the championship favorite team,

which includes the so-called "King of the Court" Tobio Kageyama, in the first round.

Though Hinata's team suffers a miserable defeat,

he vows to eventually surpass Kageyama and defeat him.

Hinata has an unusually high ability to jump.

Since he was young, Hinata trained his legs to compensate for his lack of height.

He joins Karusuno High School Volleyball team and amazes the team with his natural affinity as a spiker.

Although he is a complete beginner and never had any experience playing in a volleyball team, he grows rapidly through each match.

A famous setter in his middle school who joins the Karusuno High Volleyball team.

He was known as the "King of the Court" in his middle school because of his arrogant demeanor

and the way he would order around his teammates.

Although he still carries an overbearing attitude, he begins to change when he starts to play with,

Hinata Shouyou who views him as a rival.

A member of the Karasuno High volleyball club.

He often looks down on Hinata stating that he should not only rely on his jump.

He also teases Kageyama both by calling him "the king"

as well as referring to the rest of the players as common folk, which angers him to the core.

Nishinoya is the shortest person on the team, standing at 159 cm.

Despite his small stature, he has a fairly muscular build.

He regularly styles his wild hair by ruffling most of it upwards to add to his height;

the tiny tuft of hair that falls over his forehead appears to be bleached.

His eyes are brown and slanted.

He's keen on wearing bright-colored shirts that typically have some ostentatious phrase printed at their front or back,

such as "One-Man Army" or "Three-Point Headstand."

Loud, hot-headed and easily angered, he is no stranger to picking fights.

He is also somewhat of a slacker, shown by his less-than-stellar work ethic in school.

Despite all this, he is shown to be caring and supportive towards his teammates,

and even protective of his underclassmen. 
Once he gets fired up, he is usually unstoppable on the court—

and also unstoppably loud, as demonstrated by his over-the-top cheering,

after scoring the first point in Karasuno's match against Tokonami, which resulted in a warning.

Daichi is a very caring and concerned captain who makes sure that everyone is doing okay and always puts the team first.

He is also patient and understanding,

but becomes really scary when angry or when his patience gets tested.

He is well-respected and also feared by his teammates.

Sugawara is shown to be average in height, with a leaner build, yet still muscular.

Thank you for the input, but I do consider Yamaguchi in the same category as Ennoshita and the other 2nd years that do not play at all.

As the manga has already 100+ chapters, and yet their roles are kinda limited to none at all; (bench-warmers) tbh =/

 

 

So ultimately, I do consider mostly a 'side character', hope that you're not offended!

But I do agree that he has made great progress so far, no doubt he would play more of a role later on when the 3rd years graduate!

When Yamaguchi told Hinata that next time he will score 10 points (service), I was like: "You can do it! If I can, then you can!"

 

 

Seriously tho, I do wanna share that moment when I did 10 services...I was so tired afterwards hahaha x)

And I did it at the start of the set, so when I was subbed out to rest...the score was 10-0 

That season, I was supposed to get the best server award but...idk what happened. My coach just apologized to me and said that the list of awardees were changed sobs

 

That's why I can relate to Yamaguchi (as a fellow pinch server) :'D

Sorry if it's a dumb question I'm just beginning to get to know the series. 

Probably possible, would depend on how long the second season decides to adapt to tho lol because the second season will probably cover the chapter 70 - end of training arc, and we don't know if they're gonna cover the current arc (Spring competition thingy), but if they do they will have to cover the material up to the current chapters and that's gonna remove the need for a season 3.

But that's just my opinion
