Article: 'Abnormal Summit' Daniel, "Hitler's a devil, please stop calling him amazing"

Source: OSEN via Naver

"Maybe because they don't know much about Hitler, but (in Korea), there are often people who think Hitler's an amazing person. I wish they wouldn't say that. When I hear things like that on a taxi, as a German, it makes me want to get off the car. If you say things like that in Germany, you'll be arrested. Hitler was a devil."

1. [+17,753, -129] Germany's not an amazing country for no reason... they remember their history the way it happened and pass it down to their future generations accurately. Daniel was extraordinary on the episode today and there's so much to learn from him.

2. [+12,511, -116] Daniel's an amazing person...

3. [+12,122, -110] There's so much to learn from this show. Today's episode especially taught me so much. Daniel's just... an amazing person.

4. [+7,819, -83] I hope Pritz is listening to this.

5. [+2,348, -13] I remember a German woman on 'Talk of the Beauties' said the same thing. If you talk positive about Hitler in Germany even today, you'll be arrested. Germany is not a country like Japan where they worship the Yasukuni shrine.

6. [+1,997, -11] Germany seems right on point with their history education!

Article: 'Abnormal Summit' Sam Ochiri "My black friend cried after seeing my CF"

Source: OSEN via Nate

"When I was younger and living in Ghana, I was taught that white is good and black is bad. During our colonization, we treated white people like gods so even amongst ourselves in Ghana, we preferred people with lighter skin.

While working as an extra in Korea, most of our scenes had white people in the front with black people in the back. My black friends would always message me saying they're curious about Korean culture but they're scared of coming because of the image Koreans have of them.

While in Dongdaemun with a friend, my friend saw ad picture and began crying. S/he had never expected for a black man's picture to be hung up like that in Korea and began crying out of joy."

1. [+365, -15] This part made me sad ㅜㅜㅜ

2. [+354, -23] So much to learn from today's episode~ I'm sure that thanks to Sam Ochiri, discrimination will slowly diminish as well.

3. [+289, -28] What a legendary episode today... every single thing said was so on point. So many things to learn.

4. [+26, -4] I agreed a lot with what Sung Shi Kyung said that... that people discriminate with bad intentions but for others, it's not the case. With black people, sometimes we can't approach them because we really are scared and have literally never met them before...;; and there's still the stereotype that all Americans are white ã…‹ã…‹;;; maybe because of all the American soldiers and missionaries we were used to seeing in the past;; anyway, I'm glad Sam-ssi is breaking stereotypes!! Fighting!

5. [+25, -3] Everything Daniel and Tyler said today were so important... Daniel's words on Hitler and Germany's acknowledgement of their crimes along with Tyler reinforcing the fact that we need to continue fighting discrimination. These are both things we need in our country's modern society.

Article: 'Abnormal Summit' Sam Okyere, "a black friend of mine cried at my CF"

Source: OSEN via Naver

Sam: "In Ghana, we're taught, "white is good and black is bad" in school due to the colonial history. We treated white people as the god so Ghanaian people still prefer pale skin. I went to Dongdaemoon with my friend and he cried because he never thought he'd see a CF picture of a black person."

1. [+5529, -35] Today's hero was Gerniel. He mentioned a very sensitive issue and firmly admitted that it was their fault. He deserves respect

2. [+4075, -38] Today's discussion was so touching. I cried hard... The Australian part-timer talked well and he contributed a lot. He's the best part-timer so far

3. [+3969, -167] Korean people like black people a lot!

4. [+3277, -24] Discrimination should be gone ã… ã…

5. [+2029, -68] Shouldn't Bobby Kim be there as America representative? ã…‹ã…‹

Article: 'Abnormal Summit' Handsome Australian guy Blair with 'Korean styled English'

Source: TV Report via Naver

1. [+607, -2] When they were talking about the borders, I realized that South Korea is one of the loneliest countries. It's not even an island but it's the only divided country without a promise

2. [+348, -6] He's so cute ã… ã… ã…

3. [+278, -4] Blair hwaiting!!

4. [+248, -3] He's really cute ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

5. [+196, -4] I missed the intro of the episode. Why was Takuya absent?

6. [+88, -0] The staff needs to make him a permanent member ã…‹ã…‹ He was the best part-timer so far. He contributed to the discussion a lot and he's an eye candy

7. [+63, -1] Blair! I knew he would succeed in Korea ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Hwaiting

Article: Zhang Yuan cries, "I opened up my heart after filming Abnormal Summit"... 'touching'

Source: OSEN via Naver

1. [+6237, -46] His attitude is what we want from Japan...

2. [+5488, -31] He cries easily ã… ã… ã…‹ã…‹

3. [+4245, -43] I was so touched... Zhang Yuan has such a warm heart

4. [+3371, -33] I agree with him ã… ã…  Zhang Yuan is cool...

5. [+3088, -247] Takuya should be the one crying instead of Zhang Yuan...

6. [+747, -12] Zhang Yuan also changed the stereotype of China. China would be a better country if more people are like Zhang Yuan ã… ã…

7. [+652, -6] Zhang Yuan looks like a different person from episode 1. He used to look like a Chinese person who spoke Korean but now he's a Chinese person who communicates and accepts Korea by heart

this show is amazing, i love it

please talk about homossexuality in the future, that'd be great

I believe they already did an episode where they talked about  homosexuality? Hong Suk Chun appeared, and it was one of the earlier episodes as well.

Edit: It was episode 7

That ep made me tear up, especially Hong Seok Chun describing that marriage invitation and how something that is so mundane and something we take as given can be so huge to someone else. It's like he finally understood that it was okay to hope for something.

I really like Enes and I tried to respect his opinion and while he wasn't oppressive, it was really sad to me that it would crush his whole world if he found out his son was gay.

I'm curious, do a lot of people watch this show? what are the ratings like?

it's really great that a show like this airs in SK. I've been meaning to watch it but I've been so lazy...

It's a very interesting show but seeing as it's on Cable, I doubt the ratings are as high as the more commercial variety. I think it's relatively popular though because some of the cast appear on other shows and have done CF's and other things. I am hooked on it and it's one of my favorites. It's the best talk show around and is actually a good watch for anyone. I think despite the West being more open, we all have prejudices too. For instance Sam explaining that in Africa, we don't hunt and like walk around with lions. These are things I explain to Americans. That we don't walk around naked and contrary to what you believe most of us are healthy and happy and not starving and in need of western survival songs to aid us.

My African friend in the UK was also talking about this as was one of my best friends in the Netherlands. Constantly telling people that their perception of Africa is not only false but that we are multiple countries with actually very different cultures and tribes...

You go, Sam! That case remembers me when Djimon Honsou's son told to his dad that he wanted to be light-skinned to be a superhero. White supremacy is horrible, and I'm a white person myself.....

I don't watch the show, but maybe that Takuya guy has been absent for agenda issues?

1. [+17,753, -129] Germany's not an amazing country for no reason... they remember their history the way it happened and pass it down to their future generations accurately. Daniel was extraordinary on the episode today and there's so much to learn from him.

And then Turkey hasn't yet apologized on the Armenian, Greek and Assyrian genocides, or Japan with Korea, and so on.....

The gap between number of upvotes white guy and black guy article . as expected from knetz .

Sam's article was from Nate while the other articles are from Naver

From what I understand, Nate has fewer people who use it and therefore they usually have way fewer upvotes compared to Naver

idk how many upvotes Sam's article would've gotten on Naver but probably not as little as this (I think..)

Sam is one of the popular cast members though. He's in a lot of CF deals too. He's also been in a lot of other variety shows.
