I still can't decide whether to support this. They're now saying that they probably won't even try to get an A-lister, but what does that mean exactly? Getting Vixx would be good but I'm not even their casual fan so while I support them coming here I wouldn't actually go to the show.

Also the venue they picked looks like it's seating only... It's a dilemma.

Same here. What if I don't all this money and the line up is shit. What if it all falls through where does all of that money go? I'm really not here for a line up of nugus. About the venue, i've been there and although it's only seating it's a really good view regardless of where you are.

Yeah the venue seems great, I just personally prefer the option of standing at shows that are mainly dance music.

I feel kinda the same about the nugu thing. I can't tell whether they're even planning on trying to get more than one group, which I'm fine with if it's a full-length concert of that one group. But there's very few low tier nugu groups I would pay a lot to see. I'm not one of those people that just goes to see any Korean artist or movie that comes to town. I think at this stage you're just paying $40 for a ticket to see all the cover performers and get into the conference. So that's good, it's buying an actual ticket for something, but I'm more interested in the concert with actual Korean artists part.

I feel bad that this aspect of doesn't interest me at all. I kind of wish that they could partner with a company and confirm at least one or two artists prior to asking people for donations. It's probably too much too ask.

It's only $6,000 on that website but the girl in the video stated they wanted to raise $20,000 which means they must have some form of resources, why wouldn't a decent company be willing to work with them if that were the case.

Yeah it doesn't interest me either. I'm not looking to get into a kpop group or start a dance team or anything like that, and I prefer to see cover acts in a bar or club.

I think they are planning on doing another phase of fundraising after this first phase where they will ask people to pay more for a ticket to a show that includes a kpop artist but I might be wrong. I'm also curious how this all works. Like, in a normal situation when a north american band comes to toronto, probably the promoter and the artist partner somehow and then end up splitting the proceeds from tickets? Because the artist gets promotion out of the deal, but for the promoter, they're not going to bother putting on concerts if they don't make money. It seems like kpop companies want a huge appearance fee from the promoter up front or something and that's why they need to raise all this cash first before inviting someone. I'm really curious how that differs from shows with north american artists. It seems weird to me, like, shouldn't you get paid after selling tickets? Seems like a different way of doing things.

That is so weird and stretchy. Look at how many concert have been cancelled so close to event day. It's one thing to spend like 300 dollars on a ticket but to having to donate money to raise the funds is the part that I can't justify. Not without a breakdown of costs because their essentially asking for fans to fund this event + pay for ticket and etc but only if they can get this thing off of the ground.
