AOA says they'll resume band activities once they gain popularity, but knowing FNC...I don't know what to think of that. whoop.

 

I actually like their band concept, bc there's nothing quite like it in the kpop girl group market (and who other than FNC to make a rockin girl counterpart of FT Island / CN Blue ye), they did well with Moya but I don't think they were promoted too well for it to shine as brightly. mm.

There is a possibility that it could happen again one day but methinks this band thingy isn't gonna happen anytime soon. AOA said recently that they still make 0 in their paycheck. I bet the company is still going to milk their sexy concepts as they seem doing well with that concept at this point.

Honestly it would cool if they did dual concepts from here on out. Like a dance version and a band version. That way Youkyung still gets group activities and the dance line still gets to be sexy. And then maybe for concerts they could go with the band version song(s) so that Youkyung can still perform. It's a win win for everyone TBH.

I sense we might get a band unit comeback next year, something quick and easy, depending on whether Seolhyun or Hyejeong get any drama offers.

 

I don't see why they couldn't do one sooner, though. They still danced during Elvis and Get Out and only appeared with the instruments once or twice. If they do that again, they could set themselves apart while also retaining the audience they've gained with the sexy concept.

 

There are a few songs Brave Brothers have produced for them ('You Know That' and 'A Girl's Heart') that sound like a band is playing them and not a synth, so they wouldn't even have to stop working with him, either. (And those songs are crazy catchy.)

 

Or even better, bring the instruments, choreograph a dance with mic stands for Seolhyun, Hyejeong and Chanmi, and have them all perform at once on the same stage.

It pains me that Y is in the dungeon but she doesn't promote with the girls often and the chemistry as a group is just not there. AOAs second year anniversary video was so painful to watch because it's obvious she doesn't have any a close relationship with the girls. FNC didn't think it through when they added her to the group and her subsequent promotion.

You can never be sure. There could always be a possibility of a band return. However you have to look at it from a business way from FNC's point of view. Every time they did a band concept and it flopped it cost the company money. That was why it got to the point they were going to disband AoA, because they were basically losing money. So when they went to sexy concept and suddenly money starts coming in then it is obviously what anyone would do from a business point of view.

It's easy for 5000 people to scream for the band concept but would that full 5000 be willing to buy song. I doubt FNC will want to make any more loses with AoA, so unless they really really feel secure they can do band and make a profit, they won't be doing band any time soon.

They've already said they wanted to bring back the band concept after gaining recognition. Since they've got the recognition they need I'd honestly expect a band concept some time next year.
