APink and BtoB were labelmates under Cube Entertainment, and were both the youngest primary acts in their agency. In following the United Cube "female seniority" trend that was started with their predecessors 4minute and BEAST, APink precedes BtoB in seniority by nearly a year having debuted on April 21, 2011 with "I Don't Know". Months later, BtoB debuted with "Insane" on March 22, 2012. mirrors.. APink and BtoB have shared and do share a variety of similarities both professional and personal. For example: Both were assigned seven members with which they debuted. They were both assigned an English speaker who was assigned both to the rap line and as a vocal. (Yookyung x Peniel) Both have charming and directive overall centers or frontmen who are the "Face of the Group" and yet do not simply fall in line with the typical South Korean beauty standard. I was getting my words mixed up and just kinda through those in there. Though, those terms aren't constant so Naeun, Eunji or Ilhoon could be the centers. Just depends on what point in their careers the groups are. The center is more the person who is just placed in the center of formations in order to spread attention evenly throughout the group. It also helps highlight that persons skills reinforces their position in the group. Like in T-ara, the center is often Soyeon (due to her vocals being the key part of the songs), in BTS it's often Rap Mon (due to his raps being the key part of the songs), in BtoB, it's often Eunkwang(due to his vocals being the key part of the songs). etc. So if that's Naeun (due to her vocals or visuals or dancing or whatever), than yeah! It's like this: And I agree completely with your description of the center-- the center should be the anchor of the group formations and photographs, the one whose presence seems to 'bring it all together.' They neither call attention completely to themselves or distract from the other members, while simultaneously bringing attention to the 'center.' They become the visual focal point that the audience notices, rather than being noticed first as a musical or talent focal point (the person who typically gets the brunt and majority of that credit and attention is the frontman) which allows their talents to subtly come through. A good center is able to fade into the background to give leeway for other members to shine. Do you know about T-ara? I hope so.. Soyeon is the center of T-ara. She's the main vocalist, she carries ground and stability in the group's performances, the songs aren't complete without her vocals, and they really can't do T-ara without her. But, is she the frontman? Hell no! She may be the most integral part of the songs, but she's not the one who pulls the effort and gives it impact. She's not the one put in there to help pull the promotion forward. Is she the face of the group? Even more of a hell no, she's not the popular member who you think of when thinking "T-ara", That's typically Jiyeon.
