Yeah AkMu's album is one of the more solid ones of the year. It has a very distinct sound, too.

If you're into ballads w/ female vocals I'd suggest

and
. Maybe JeA too (even if I personally prefer the other members' solos).

If it doesn't have to be Korean, I'd suggest Hebe Tien's Insignificance album. But it's the kind of music you listen to when you're in the mood. Calm and sentimental.

As for more kpop type songs...

The vast majority of my playlist is made up of

Eyed
and
.

Kara has a

very,
catchy
.

do, as
. 4minute have several fun songs (muzik, volume up, Hyuna's solos, 2Yoon's album tracks (black swan in particular)).

I'll continue this* in a new post.

I'll work from this if you don't mind.

I was planning on mentioning them anyway, and this gives me a reason to do it at he top of the post, ignoring the structure I'd planned.

The one truly popular/famous co-ed duo would be Troublemaker. They're quite different from AkMu though. They're a unit made up by Hyuna and a guy from B2st, and their debut song/dance is still very popular:

They got criticized for being a bit too risque though.

Apart from that, there is very little to choose from. You'd most likely have to settle with collaborations.

Jieun's pre-release single from that album is great too:

Secret is a great group overall. Good songs, top performers and very pretty too.

From cute songs like Starlight Moonlight and Shy Boy to more uptempo jams such as I'm In Love and Magic.

Girl's Day have gained popularity lately thanks to songs such as "something" and "expectation". Both are good. They also have some very catchy earlier song that might sound a bit cheap at first but will turn into guilty pleasures. Examples being "Don't forget me", "Hug me once" and "Nothing Lasts Forever".

Fiestar have good songs, as do EXID.

For boy groups, I'd suggest G.O.D. ("the lonely duckling" from this year and "to mother" from earlier) and Big Bang (mostly their older songs like "haru haru" and "lies", but also "blue" and "fantastic baby" (the opinions are divided on the last one)). They're both groups with a more mature sound, even if BB might be going away from it now... based on the recent solos. It would be a shame.

Beast are all right too. Super Junior is your archetypical kpop group and they have some great songs (mainly "it's you"). 2PM's ADTOY is worth checking out.

Apink's comeback.

San e Raina - a Midsummer night's sweetness

sexy = Girls Day - Something

Funny, Catchy = Orange Caramel - Catalena

Exid - Up and down
