shutupihateyou 21,439
[TRANS] YoonA’s Interview - Instyle December 2014 issue There is such a saying: “How one lives his/her life and his/her thinking that are reflected on one’s face is the best work of a one’s life†24 years old YoonA has a face that is somewhat different from what we expected. Of course her image is the same as she has onscreen, her clear skin is as beautiful, and her face also gives us the thinking “so this is how small a fist sized face looks likeâ€. But we thought the ‘twinkling’ her will just be bright and cute, but, how should i put it. should i say from her face i can feel a deep story behind? As the visual of our nation’s girl group, and also the goddess of 65000 soldiers, even though YoonA was oozing with a million volt of charms with all smiles and laughters, she also gives off in-depth mature expressions through her eyes, the fragrance of a girl and a woman switching with each other can be seen on her smiling face throughout the photoshoot. SNSD’s YoonA has been enjoying a break with a lot of freedom and leisure that she ever has since debut after the end of <Mr. Mr.> promotions."It is such a bliss lying on bed listening to singers such as Kim Dong Ryul, Urban Zakapa. Hanami (Flower viewing) and backpacking trip that i have never experience before is something i wanted to try if i get the chance to, but as of now, i do not have the thought that i am very determined to do it yet. So even though i do envy friends of my age occasionally, but i also understand that there is no way one can have everything. During a broadcast programme in the past, i had an experience of working, it is even more tiring as compared to rushing schedules. Through that experience i understand that even if i do not have as much freedom as others, it is also not easy to be able to do things that i like and also gain a lot of things out of it, so i am even more thankful now.†Actress YoonA is expected to participate in the Korean Chinese movie Goodbye Ani. “:As of now, the specific filming period has not been decided yet. In actual fact i debut first as an actress before i debut as a singer. Acting is the field that i will ultimately want to focus on and the field that i have desire in. Even if it is roles that have little screentime, if i am able to learn many things from the outstanding sunbaes, i have wish to play a role too. Recently i watched <Pretty Woman>, it left a very deep impression for me, if i tell you the movie was filmed around the year i was born, can you believe it? I wish to encounter a film like this, a film that still leaves a deep impression in people memory no matter how long time has passed.â€More like a (blood) type A, rather than type B "I feel that it is both my strength and weakness that my personality is not a typical type B. I am clear in what i like, so i am able to distinguish clearly between likes and dislikes. But when it comes to things out of my field, i become extremely careful and indecisive. I am a sensitive person by nature, but through SNSD’s activities, i have become more outgoing. In the past i was very hurt by the negative remarks that i read from the net, and i suffered a lot too. But people around me told me it is impossible for everyone to like and view me in good light, and ask me to cheer up, with their help, i gradually become stronger.â€Fashion Star "I am the type that will fix a date for shopping and buy everything i need at one go. I’m not sure if it is because i wore too many cute outfits on stage, i tend to pick outfits that are more comfortable and simple when i go shopping. I also try to seek for a style that suits me after looking at paparazzi photos of Hollywood stars. My overly thin body makes me feel inferior, so i am trying very hard to gain weight, but it is really not an easy task" Source: Yoona GalleryCr: Chinese trans by éº¦å® (æž—å…å„¿å§)Eng trans: mystarmyangel

This!!! I'm sick and tired of people skinnyshaming and criticizing idols' body figure just because they're skinny like Yoona, Taemin, Sooyoung, etc. Like they say its not right to fatshame but its okay to insult and make fun of skinny people / skinnyshaming ? And calling skinny people disgusting or unattractive on top of that ? really ? Double standards. For all we know these idols probably have been eating like normal , it just so happens that their bodies unable to gain weight due to their metabolisme. Agilio 360
Ehhh IDK how I feel about her saying this.... I'm all for skinny bodies and prominent cheekbones but let's be honest in that Yoona has lost a lot of weight so obviously she WANTS to be skinny. I rather she just own it then saying, "it's natural, I want to gain weight," because there is no way that's true when she keeps LOSING weight at a steady pace. She went from here: average skinny but not very prominent thigh gap to here: skinny with prominent thigh gap and she's gotten a bit skinner as of recently of her own hard work and dedication and she shouldn't feel bad about that. She has the perfect body for her job/career and she obviously works hard to maintain her figure so I think she should OWN IT. She shouldn't care if other people are criticizing her because the truth is that so many girls would love to be her size and look good in everything, even white pants... Personally I love her body and she's not too skinny or anything like that. She has a really nice figure and it looks good in basically everything she wears. I hope she keeps doing what makes her feel good and not worry about people complaining. She also looks so skinny because so many other members yo-yo like crazy. I stay the same weight. I want to gain weight. But OBVIOUSLY NOT cause I'm not gaining it. And as for me not losing it at a steady pace, that's probably because I eat a lot and my body uses that to keep it where it is. Now, I'm not saying Yoona has that same exact problem, I'm just saying there are conditions where you're trying to gain weight, but you can't. And with her being on the move the way she is, compared to my laziness behind the computer all day, I can understand it. "Yoona has lost a lot of weight so obviously she WANTS to be skinny.". Yoona has been the skinniest member along with Sooyoung, but these two are known to be the shikshin. yes there are people in the world with naturally thin body2. she's been talking about gainning her weight since forever ago (eating medicine, went to a clinic, etc) so she's more likely not on diet. 3. it's possible to lose weight when you work under pressure and lot of stress, moreover when you're the thin type. lossing weight doesn't always mean you're doing it on purpose. I don't know her but her saying she wants to gain weight doesn't prove shes not losing weight on purpose. Are you implying that yoona has an eating disorder...? What eating disorder does she have? Please enlighten me. If she really did have an eating disorder she would have had a billion articles of her fainting by now after 7 years of intense schedules, non stop stage performances, constant travelling, and minimal sleep. But she never fainted on stage, she was always able to carry herself and pulled through, and is among the girls in SNSD with the most energy doing their choreography, always. It's impossible for her to have survived all these intense years without eating at least somewhat sufficient calories for her body type everyday. She does not show the symptoms of anorexia or bulimia nervosa as far as I know. She also has anemia which makes it a bit harder... I believe that she's trying and if she really did have an eating disorder then there's no way SM or the other girls would leave that unattended. And People need to stop with this skinny shaming too because it's getting old and hypocritical. If someone calls Suzy fat all hell breaks loose but when someone calls yoona a skeleton is okay? Where is the logic in that?? Making fun of someone for being skinny is no different than making fun of someone for being fat...

Ok I think you misunderstood what he/she was saying. Also the statement about Yoona lost weight because she wants to be skinny, why is everyone here taking that statement negatively? Doesn't all female idols want to be thin/skinny? Actually, doesn't most girls prefer to be skinny than curvy? I think what the other person was saying that Yoona understands what type of body/image she needs to maintain in this business, therefore she works very hard for it. If you choose to eat right and exercise, then you choose to be healthier, you choose to and/or wants to lose weight. There's nothing wrong with that. Your metabolism actually slows down as you get older, so if she was curvier before, then she wouldn't really be thinner now if she eats the same things/maintains the same lifestyle, given she's not ill or anything. I never thought she has an eating disorder by any means (and I don't agree with people picking her for her weight saying she has eating disorders), but I do feel that even with her hectic schedule, she can probably still eat certain amounts of food if she really wanted to. But she chose to maintain a certain figure, which I respect because this business is harsh and it really is a personal choice at the end of the day. I'm sorry to read she feels this way about her body, she shouldn't because how you look is entirely your choice and you should embrace yourself as you are. I think she looks beautiful either way (now or before).

If your thinness is to the point where people are insulting you, bashing you, making fun of you to the point where you're feeling inferior, then that's when you try get out of that. What I'm saying is she of course doesn't want to be fat, of course every girl wants to be thin, but yoona is saying that she doesn't want to be as thin as she is. There's thin and then there's past thin. Whoever I responded to was saying Yoona wants to be the weight she currently is. If I was that weight and people made fun of me in that way, I'd like to gain more weight, Yoona is saying that's where her problem is coming in, gaining that weight. Losing weight isn't easy, but gaining weight to some people is very hard as well. Girls want to be skinny, ok. She wants to be skinny, but she doesn't want to be as skinny as she is. And I agree with you on the She looks beautiful either way part, I don't even notice the weight problem if there is one, I'm so focused on her beauty. bobofet 813
No one's shaming her but they're worried for her. And they have a right to be. Given what we know about the idol world and eating disorders it's perfectly reasonable for people to be afraid for her given her weight. We all support Yoona in her goal to gain weight and hope that her company doesn't actively stand in the way of that.

Ok NO you're done. "i'm a boy.." sorry but I don't care about your gender or your scrawny build. She keeps loosing weight when technically speaking she was busier before she lost most of it. Your an idiot if you think that she just can't gain weight....that's what they all say so fat people can feel better about themselves. She's in Korea...a place where american size 4 is wholly "average" no way she doesn't relish in her "perfect" body. She's not naturally that thin so it makes no sense to me how she can't gain weight. Just like how Yuri wasn't naturally thin and she stopped maintaing and blew the hell up..... but i'll let you think what you want to.... 1. Yoona has been the skinniest member along with Sooyoung, but these two are known to be the shikshin. yes there are people in the world with naturally thin body 2. she's been talking about gainning her weight since forever ago (eating medicine, went to a clinic, etc) so she's more likely not on diet. 3. it's possible to lose weight when you work under pressure and lot of stress, moreover when you're the thin type. lossing weight doesn't always mean you're doing it on purpose. ....LOL Yuri was one of the skinniest in SNSD too, till she lots her teen metabolism and then took over being known as the "curvy" one. Then she crash dieted, couldn't maintain and blew up to the size she is now. Yoona was thin, gained a bit of weight and was thin but not nearly as thin as she is now, then she started losing weight rapid speed. She's not the "thin type" like Sooyoung whose weight has never fluctuated. Yoona had muscle before which she lost, probably due to bad eating and less working out and now she's probably just restricting calories. It's not that hard....really it isn't. If you really believe that whole "shikshin" personality farce then I have nothing to add...it's the title they attach to the skinny member of every group if you haven't noticed when actually lots of them work very hard to stay skinny. Nicole of KARA is perfect example, labeled Shikshin by DSP but really insecure about her weight and always dieting.... I swear kpop fans and the rose colored glasses. Yoona would probably cry is she was average sized
