For a few days there everyone was talking about Azealia Banks new album Broke With Expensive Taste and how the release, finally out after a three year struggle with the label, pretty much backed up all the hype that surrounded the rapper when she first burst on the scene.

That hype has been damaged by the ever increasing number of feuds that Banks seemed to get herself in to - with Lady Gaga, Iggy Azalea, T.I., Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj, Diplo, Rita Ora, Pharrell, her management and the list goes on and on. Now in an interview with UK newspaper The Guardian, the rapper has addressed one of her most controversial disputes - with Perez Hilton, who she called “a messy f****t.â€

“’I don’t regret doing it, but I’ll never do it again, because I don’t care enough about the person to have the battle again and defend my use of the word ‘f****t’,†she says…In fact, to Banks, “f****t†is a term of abuse levelled specifically at misogynists, some of whom, in her experience, have been gay. “A lot of gay men are way more misogynistic than straight men,†she says. “The shit they say about women behind their backs, it’s like: ‘Wow, oh my God!’ You can be a straight f****t, you can be a gay f****t. A f****t is anybody that hates women. It’s like, y’all sing along to my words when I’m saying ‘n***a’ and ‘c**t’, but as soon as I call this one white man a f****t the whole world exploded. Listen, I didn’t say all gay men are f****ts; I said Perez Hilton is a f****t, so don’t try and bring the rest of the gays down with your f****try.â€

In the interview Banks also talks about her beef with Disclosure, with whom she had a scrapped recording session last year. “I want to punch one of them in the face – the little one [possibly Guy Lawrence]. The ugly one. I want to hit him so bad. I saw him at the airport in Australia and I came over to him and I was like: ‘Hello? Like, what are we going to do with this song?’ And he was just being a dickhead. I started crying, I was so angry. I wanted to hit him. I cannot stand that little boy with all those pimples around his mouth. I love their music, though.â€

It’s pretty disappointing that Banks can’t keep focused on the music, on an album that’s actually been well received - the surprise release Broke With Expensive Taste has sold 11,165 albums, meaning that it debuted at #30 on the Billboard Chart.

What do you think of Azealia Banks’ comments? Do you like the new album?

I'm so damn tired of this/her. She was doing soooo damn well. Broke With Expensive Taste is a good ass album, from a talented young woman (Who called out Em for his trash ass behavior), but she continuously says shit that don't need to be said.

Like three steps forward and nine steps back.

Even as a gay man I do think gay men can still be sexist/mysoginistic. That's nothing groundbreaking, but girl that term is not yours to try and redefine.

Like be quiet, make cute music and good videos. If you gonna drag...pick your damn battles.

Love her music, Broke With Expensive Taste has been on replay, but the girl is messy with a capitol MESS and the Y. I think she would have been on or surpassed where Iggy is in here career right now if she learned to just shut up sometimes. Yes, have an opinion but some of the things she says are just plain dumb and she has no tact.
