DivaBoo 1,480
Ten days for a promotion...Uhmm...cube... I wish they'd just concentrate on the boys getting big in SK...they have so much potential. Maybe release a ballad that showcases their vocals instead of tacky songs like You're So a Fly that are really forgettable. And I'm saying this as a dedicated fan... Ako 3,951
I agree, they desperately need a good song that fits them; that and their lackluster promotions are where Cube has failed them. Never mind that their timing in debuting is horrible; no one can really be blamed for that though. Plus their best song so far was released when no one knew them then the subsequent songs were half-a**ed. But I'm still on the fence on their Japan debut. The promotions seem to be all out; I'm not even sure if it is Cube that's doing all the spending and not the local agency. If nothing else, it looks like Cube can learn something about how to promote with a bang. If this debut is successful, maybe this would be something that would make their countrymen finally notice them, something that would hopefully suck Koreans in. The increase in the number of views in their "You're So Fly" MV for the weekend is about 5,000-6,000 higher than the increase in the 41st and 42nd days of release of their "Beep Beep" MV. The increase for today is even 8,000 (about 30% increase) more than the increase for 43rd day of "Beep Beep." I don't know if these numbers really mean something, but I'm tempted to think this might be a Japan debut effect. Maybe new Japanese fans are checking them out or maybe even non-Japanese potential fans heard about them because of this debut. If nothing else, I'm hoping their Japanese fans will earn them money from all the merchandise they've been hawking in the cafe and their performance venues. I think that's why Korean artists love going to Japan; the Japanese seem to like spending money on things like those (not just the albums). However, they still need a killer song after this... dannyb 340
I'm not sure where Btob stand at this point. It's seems a bit like noise marketing to me. They are not really leading this generation yet in Korea, I don't know how they will fair in Japan. Like Beast and Apink had a breakout hit in their second year and 4Minute debuted pretty strong right away although they had less competition as BTOB. Right now their sales are pretty low for this year compared to the other 2012-2014 debuted groups and their downloads and chart placement aren't good but it's still doesn't mean that they can't have a break out hit next year but if Cube debuts another group then yeah this may be their only solution. Problem is that right now debuting them in Japan when they have not really solidified a fanbase in Korea or are all that well known internationally may hinder them in the long run.
