1. [+672, -245] Spreading that damned religion in Haiti is obviously her job now but shouldn't getting her team back on track be a bigger priority... How can she call herself a leader and be this irresponsible... Seems like God doesn't concern himself with these things.

2. [+553, -145] Why do people do missionary trips? Just let the people who want to believe believe.. Don't force your beliefs onto others... I really don't understand people who do that.

3. [+467, -73] Just please, leave the Wonder Girls already

1. [+514, -68] I will never understand... why she would go on a mission trip while leaving her 6 month old baby behind..

2. [+366, -45] I don't care about the mission trip, as long as they don't ruin another country's culture in the name of their religion.

3. [+251, -52] I hate how religious people always chalk everything up to God's grace. I'm the one buying you that damned meal, thank me not God. I can't eat with religious people anymore.

4. [+217, -37] Just do charity work, don't force your religion onto others.

5. [+195, -43] Mission trips are a nuisance to other countries and an embarrassment to our own country. No one likes having another religion forced onto them. If you insist on going there, just do charity service and leave it at that.

6. [+161, -31] She's leaving her newborn child to go on an overseas mission trip when there are thousands and thousands of children already in Korea in need of help... I really have no words of reason for religious people.

7. [+124, -13] I'm glad she's calling it a mission trip. I'm sick of people who say they're doing it all for charity when it's obvious they're only doing it to force their religion onto others. That's not charity.

no offense to religious people,

but that comment made me LOL

That's.. kind of the whole point of religion though? Lol. Some of these comments are really a bit much. It seems like they don't understand the full concept of a "missionary trip".

if she feels that's her calling, then who are those netizens to judge?

if she doesn't feel like going back to the Wonder Girls, that's her choice, not theirs.

these netizens don't seem to grasp that being an idol is just a profession, not their life.  being a mother and a Christian are apparently more important to her than being an idol. Sunye can live how she wants and that's what she will do.

The netizen comments are even more disgusting and ignorant then usual. They obviously have never been on a mission trip. No one is forcing anything on anybody. :unimpressed:

And she's not leaving her baby. Most people take their babies and children with them. I know tons of people who moved their entire families to another country to pursue missionary work. Kids grow up there and go to school there and everything. Participate in the culture of whatever country they are living in. It's a good thing.

I left the religious world eons ago and now study it for educational purposes, but the comments by those netizens are just plain incorrect. If your gonna bash someone for their religious beliefs, understand the religion before doing so. Its like the people who claim Islam is a horrid religion where everyone hates the west and go on suicide trips for teh tits in heaven. That's incorrect, you have two main factions of muslims, and the one you always see in the news are the bad faction who blow shit up.

Aside from spreading the word of your god, the main purpose of those missionary trips is to help people in need. Its basically charity work but you throw in a bible or two to make people believe in something and have hope their lives can get better. Christianity, like any religion, has its problems. But one cannot deny the immense amount of charity and good deeds Christians have done in the world over the centuries.

If people are doing mission trips to force religion on others, they're doing them horribly wrong.

(Note: if you don't like religion-y things, I'd advise you to not read)

I've been on mission trips and will (hopefully....) be embarking on another one next week. The past three years, I've been going to Tanzania, which is in southeast-ish Africa. Our team does a variety of things, like teaching at a primary school and helping out at a clinic. Both are run by the Anglican Diocese of Dar Es Salaam, so they're Christain anyway. There are Muslim students at the school, but the headmistress has told us very few complain about the religious background of the school.

Anyway, each time we bring layettes (baby clothes). The clinic gives them out to mothers who have their babies at the clinics to encourage healthy and safe conditions for the babies to be born. Personally, I've taught at the school because I want to be a teacher. I've taught math, science, P.E., and English (surprise surprise) to first and second graders. We also go into the city's poorest slum and visit the housebound (sick people). We give them rice, beans, tea, sugar, and soap. We also pray because we're Christian, but we ask the individual before doing so.

Other groups I've heard of (namely my diocese) do things differently. They go in and say "this is what we want to do and we're gonna do. It whether you like it or not." That's the wrong attitude to have. I believe one should let those you are helping decide what they want you to do and then do it how they want.

If you want to know more, I can share. Of course, remember that this is MY opinion and does not reflect the entirety of Christians who go on mission trips.

Stupid comments are stupid. Well ignorant. She CHOOSES to go. Nobody forced her to do anything. I doubt she leaves the baby behind though. Missionaries take their kids with them because 9 times out of 10...thats where they're living for how ever long they plan on staying in that area. My church has A LOT of missionaries and one couple took their kid when he was at least at least 5 or 8 months old. But as a WONDERFUl,i do honestly think she should just leave WG. I mean taking on a job like that, she'll never be able to come back. I love sunye to death but honey make it easier on us WONDERFULS,please?

these comments are harsh. there's nothing wrong with mission trips as long as you don't force your religion to others. what's wrong with sharing your personal belief in God? i'm not a Christian but i studied in a Christian school and there are a lot of wonderful things i've learned from the Bible. was i forced to accepting their religion? no. i believe what i believe. people shouldn't be so damned allergic to other people sharing their experiences. you can just refuse if you don't want to.
