but yeah I'll confess something but I did kind of lost my respect to Taeyang . I mean Donghyuk did okay, Junhoe did good but Hongseok was amazing . I still dont understand and I'm still mad about it but what can we do ...

 

*sigh * It hurts me so much to think about how Hongseok must have felt . He didnt get any single praise thoughout all the show even though he's the one who did the best and still kept a smile on his face . They fucked him over till the end ..smh

None. But fans have the purchasing power. As consumers of the music industry, companies should flexibility cater to market consumers. Business 101. Except YG wasn't going to let the public decide this time after Team A won last year. He expected and was in favor of Team B winning.

 

The voting results were leaked. Hongseok garnered the second highest votes- not surprising. His popularity began making a turn around around two weeks before we could vote. What gutted him in the belly was not receiving any votes from the judges. The voting system was set up in a way that the judges vote had the final say. 

Hongsoel didnt top the global votes + not landing any votes from the judges- that was 44% of the total votes against him. The global votes were prejudiced- it happened at a time most fans were throwing Jinhyeong and Hongseok under the bus because they believed the rumors plus Mnet's editing. At that time, there were Knetz comments about kicking him out with more than 5,000 up votes. The timing placed Hongseok at odds.

 

The on-sight votes happened (after or during) the final match which aired a week later. Hongseok's popularity was still premature. It was until after that it spiked up- when the posts of his real personality emerged and Knetz started the witch hunt against Mnet's evil editing.  I don't think the 70% were truly representative of the public opinion considering how voting happened at different times and influenced by manipulation. I feel offended that YG and Mnet blatantly deceived us by trying to paint a picture far from reality. 

 

Chanwoo never trended until he was added to iKON's line up. He is more popular among international fans than knetz. 

 

I wish I could recognize that Chanwoo fairly won. He didnt. YG handed his spot on a silver platter. He was never criticized, got a bit too much screen time compared to others, never sang an acapella solo, landed in Bi and Bobby's team which automatically granted him a safe spot. To the very last episode, he was placed in the middle of the spotlight. People voted for him the most stupid reasons- for being cute, wanting to keep OT6 bond alive, fans didnt wants their favs to get overshadowed, for being a blender rather than standout, for following orders, etc). Cant sing. Not a visual. Very lackluster stage presence. Okay personality. 

 

He didnt prove he deserved to win besides training hard? But so did Jinhyeong and Hongseok so....

Tbh I feel like along with Bobby, Junhoe grew the closest to the new boys.

Junhoe definitely felt comfortable with Hongseok since their vocals mix beautifully together and Hongseok could've helped Junhoe out a lot vocally wise if he got into ikon.

I unfollowed the ikon thread already. Sooner or later it's going to be invested with Chanwoo stans and it just hurts too much to stay. 

Most Jinseok supporters have migrated here which is nice. 

Jinseok did not make it into ikon and we have to accept and respect that.

Junhoe may be wary of showing his emotions but you can tell he grew to like Hongseok a lot. 

 

B.I singing the first few lines of Empty was awful. Makes me worry about their debut single

B.I and Bobby's rapping style don't fit "Empty" at all. I guess we know why YG gave the song to Winner lol.
