Before the rumours get out of hand, apparently the brother posted the post about Hongseok going to the army as a joke. (I have no idea how that would be funny, but whatever) 

 

I would love to see this duo debut. They were both supremely talented and showed a crazy amount of growth and maturation throughout the show. I don't know if YG still has them contracted? But if not, then they should really find another company that will appreciate them.

Hongseok I think has a really good chance of being recast into a different company. He's got a unique look, and he has the mien of someone who can easily go solo. I'm worried for Jinhyeong though. The Iljin rumours were devastating. I'm worried about what company would take him in after that, and whether they would spend much time in helping him to prepare.

If I had known earlier that it's this kind of program, i wouldn't have recommend him to join, i would do anything to stop him. But when i saw him smiling and saying that he has no regret, i thought to myself he is only 18 years old, from now on, it's the beginning. Ngl this really left a terrible taste in my mouth looking at how yg managed this m&m. Will definitely casually check out ikon's music in future but defintely yg wont be getting much money from me unless its junhoe's solo or subunit album. what a dumb ceo for not knowing gold when its right hanging in front of him.

Supporting jinhyeong and hongseok for as long as i can. And gonna go cleanse my ears with good music and singers with actual talent before i become tone deaf like ot6+chanwoo stans and yg himself.

Dont mind my negativity. I'm still raging and heartbroken thinking bout Jinhyeong and Hongseok and yg's biggest fuck up for a group i was gonna stan hardcore.

Jinhyeong and hongseok would do great wherever so yea, i hope they slay hard when they debut in other companies. I'll definitely be stanning them.

Ugh that Let It Go performance was terrible. I like BI, but that rap break was... 

 

I loved the Let's Get it Started performance. But Go was flawless. As was the "I want you" performance with Seok, Junhwe and Jinhwan.

In terms of whether I hate Chanwoo. No I don't have any personal feelings against him. He is a child, he was chosen by the powers that may be. I feel a little guilty that I am against his inclusion, because he seems like a very sweet kid, but I do not think he has what is required to be in the group, and I don't think he is the best choice. 

 

With regards to Donghyuk. I am sorry if you may be a fan of his, but I was against his joining the team as well. I think he's a nice kid as well, but I don't think he adds anything new to iKON either, especially when taken in contrast to Jinhyeong and Hongsoek who just would improve exponentially with each performance. 

 

I liked Team B and what iKON could potentially have been because of the musical potential they had. I liked the boys, but that doesn't really affect my decision of whether I wanted to stan the group or not. Therefore whether or not I liked the boys or what personal feelings I may have had for them did not affect how I voted or what I expected from the group either. That's why I am personally so upset by YG not including JinSeok, because no matter how you slice it, these guys were better additions in terms of the vocal line.

 

YG copped out to OT6 fans. And OT6 fans that voted for this were lead on by personal feelings, they didn't think about what would benefit the team. That's why I am personally upset by the decisions, because i think the very basis of this program was unfair to these two. YG was just looking for a popularity contest based on stupidity, this was never about changing the line up for the better. This was all thinly disguised and bad;ly executed media play for which Jinhyeong and Hongseok took the fallout.

 

If YG had taken this seriously, then they would have looked at the lineup more carefully, they would have picked out the flaws, they would have looked to see who added the most marginal benefit, and I firmly believe that we would have had JinSeok in the final addition. But because YG was working against OT6 fans (and YG wanted to appease them) we get M and M, which judges these trainees on some sort of fucked up "team" mentality whereby it is difficult to showcase your own individual talents, where the judges are hardly qualified to give an opinion, and where the final vote is determined from overseas fan meetings done very early in the program, who would basically be OT6 fans anyways. Add to this the terribly biased editing, and this whole process can only be summed up as a disaster. 

 

iKON could have been the group with strong vocals, rappers, visuals and incredible dynamic. Instead we get a weak OT6 that couldn't even succeed in the Win program plus an additional member who does nothing to solve the groups problems. Ridiculous.

Well JYP would be VERY unlikely to pick him up because of his recent comments and how much media coverage that was given. IA that his artists aren't all the spotless angels he claimed them to be, but yeah, I don't think that he will pick JinHyeong up either.

I keep watching Long time No See Jinhyung version. That boy just has so many charms. He's got a very manly build, very muscular and lean, plus he's super cute. But he's got the smile of an innocent child. I just keep repeating his part because of his beautifully stable and smooth voice as well agh.

 

I'm interested on seeing how YG will respond and if they will respond either. I think they found the backlash unexpected, but because the group is being sent to China anyways (or should I say exiled to China) I'm not sure they think it would be necessary to respond.

 

What I want out of this mess? Best case scenario, rematch of some sort, or YG accedes to changing the lineup. That will probably not happen because it would show a lack of integrity (or what little integrity they had left). Net would be Jinhyeong is put in another group that shall debut for sure in next three years. He's still young enough that this would be a viable option for him, and YG would be willing to overlook his past scandal. Hongseok would debut immediately as a soloist in another company. Worst case scenario, YG does not let him

go, or neither of them are able to debut.

 

Ugh I'm still bitter. They should have made it. They should have been in the group to have made one of the best kpop groups out there. Now Junhwe's and Bobby's exceptional skills shall be buried as they have to compensate for the flaws in the overall group.

 

Also, who I'm the group can sing stably while dancing except for Junhwe? What a mess.

I think you're over reacting. I get that you don't want anymore confusion about the issue because that did hurt his image a lot, but refusing to talk about it only makes the situation worse. Also just because you personally may not agree with wanting to know both the good and bad news about their favourite idol doesn't mean that you should try and modulate others. They were not bashing, and I appreciated that they took the time to translate the searches and that they posted all of them. The good and the bad. Because I think it's important that we as fans know about the reality of the situation he is facing, and take appropriate steps to clarify and educate others if we need to.

In response to your scenario, EXO is a group who is facing a vey different issue than Jinhyung right now. The have already debuted, while Jinhyung is in peril of not doing so because of the rumours associated with him. As to whether or not fans should "live peacefully" without knowing what antis do, I'm sorry but as someone who was an Exo fan, that's absolute bull crap. Fans are always highly concerned about negative associations and what antis were doing. Such news was also spread around and attempts to mitigate these were also made. Also, you're attempting to try and claim that all Exo fans acted in a similar fashion, which is just not true. Ever fan has a different mentality, a different maturity level, so their responses to such things ranged from actively working to clarify to just ignoring it.

 

As to the person you referenced, I don't see any anti-Jinhyung posts made by them? Like at all? Also if you are so annoyed at what they are posting, then instead of trying to police their behaviour, why not use the ignore function and continue living your peaceful fan life?

 

I understand that you may not want to see such news for a number of reasons, but that user IMO wasn't bashing him in the least. You can't try to enforce your options on someone else simply because of your mood. I would recommend to ignore the user in question. Because there are many fans, including myself who don't want to live a peaceful, and honestly deluded, fan life, I would like the truth and the whole truth at that.

I'm curious, has anybody inquired in the vocal thread/ other kpop vocal blogs about Jinhyung's and Hongseok's vocal range and overall skill level in comparison to the other members? I am a huge Junhwe fan, I think that boy has a hell of a voice, but I have noticed that he can be unstable at times and a little uncontrolled. I don't know anything about the technicalities, but my untrained ears do think that JinSeok have very well supported voices in comparison to Chanwoo especially and even Donghyuk. Anybody here know?

According to SoshiBang on the YG Family thread, Spica's Bohyung was given the same treatment...when she didn't make it in 2NE1 line-up, YG told her it's because her color doesn't fit. She stayed at YG for another year before he sent her off to B2M. The same shit's happening again

I'm honestly not surprised to learn that people think their vocals are very weakly supported. Even I could tell that much as an untrained listener. What's upsetting to me is that many of these guys have natural talent that is being squandered in YG with their lack of emphasis upon vocal training. IKON is primarily supposed to be a hep hap type of group so maybe I shouldn't be surprise that YG completely neglected to vocal side of the issue, but this seems to be a company wide problem.

 

My fear is that Junhwe shall become the next Park Bom in the sense that he is being added because of his unique vocal colour, but that his voice will deteriorate if he is forced to keep straining it and not given proper correction about how to better support his voice. I'm worried for Winner as well. Hopefully JinSeok will be given access to good vocal trainers in their time at YG as opposed to the not so good ones *fingers crossed*

You know what I think would be a good idea? Make a petition for YG not to drop JinSeok. It may seem useless but Team B fans after WIN actually made a petition for YG to not drop OT6 and he actually took notice of it and featured it on Mix and Match PressCon + 1st ep. A lot of people may actually sign it this time, because debuting Jinseok =/= dropping any OT6, plus we have like a year, if we were to go by YG's word (sighs). Any kinda of fan support should be felt by the management is just how I feel.

 

I think this is a great idea! Like they featured all the videos that fans made as well about Team B too (if i remember correctly) It would be a great way to continue to show support and hopefully take an active part in allowing these boys to debut sooner rather than later
