Henry is currently the variety show king in kpop and Jackson is a rookie rising to claim it's position. Both are pretty talented, can speak over 4 languages and are foreign idols.

 

 

However who is funnier/better at variety shows, more talented and which company promotes them better? :imstupid:

Background

Henry started to learn to play the piano from his mother at the age of 5 and also learned to play the violin at the age of 6. He later learned to play the electric violin in 2005.

 

Additionally, he learned a unique form of dancing called boogaloo popping while in high school. After only one year of dancing, Lau was competing in dance (popping) competitions and shows. Henry has gained many performance awards, such as the Canadian Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Regional Gold Medal (formerly known as the Silver Medal) for Level 10 Violin. He has also completed RCM Level 10 Piano.

Background

Jackson was a former national fencer of the Hong Kong fencing team. He was ranked 11th in 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and eventually won first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in 2011,

 

His father is Wang Rui Ji, former coach of Hong Kong national fencing team and a one time winner in Asian Games 1978. His mother is Zhou Ping, a gold medalist at the World Gymnastics Championships in 1982. Jackson had received training in gymnastic together with his brother and won the 1st place in acrobatic gymnastics championship for mixed pair category when he was 9 years old before switching to fencing. Jackson started his fencing career when he was 10.

I think Jackson is funnier. I have literally cried with laughter watching him on roommate. 

 

Henry is more talented considering he sings, dances, plays violin/piano, composes, writes lyrics, etc.

 

And SM got him on the very popular show Real Men which catapulted him, so I'd say he is promoted better, as well.

I think both are talented but in different ways. Musically, not many people can match Henry. The guy is extremely musically gifted. Jackson is more athletic and powerful on stage IMO (he has great stage presence). The guy was a youth olympics gold medal winner in fencing, so he is definitely not lacking in the talent department.

 

Both are funny and have a natural charm about them. I personally find Jackson more hilarious as he is a total goof ball and a natural comedian. He seems like he was born for the biz.

 

In terms of who is getting promoted better, I would say in variety, both are on par.In a musical sense, obviously Henry as he is also a soloist now.

With Henry I think he relies on the foreigner image a bit too much so I think it will be harder for him to keep it up. Whereas as Jackson is just funny in general and has great variety sense.

 

They are both talent: one musically and the other in sports and physicality. But I gues overall Henry has more talents. We are still getting to know Jackson though so he might have more.

 

SM is SM so Henry has a good arsenal behind him. JYP is doing a great job considering that Jackson is fresh - it's barely a year into his debut yet he has done so much (2 regular variety shows as well as guestings).

 

I hope they get to work together one day.
