The first six games in the series were developed by Core Design, while Crystal Dynamics developed the latest five. Two movies—Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life—have been produced, starring actress Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, the first of which is still the highest-grossing film adaptation of a video game ever released in the US, and third worldwide. Since the release of the original Tomb Raider in 1996, notable for its female protagonist, the series developed into a lucrative franchise of related media, and Lara became a major icon of the virtual gaming industry. In 2006, Lara Croft was inducted into the Walk of Game and Guinness World Records has recognised her as the "Most Successful Human Virtual Game Heroine. Step 192 Posted November 1, 2014 Share Posted November 1, 2014 There was this HUGE Steam sale a while back where they sold all the Tomb Raider games including most of the DLC for Tomb Raider 2013 for £10.99 So obviously, I hopped on that! I've planned on playing through the games chronologically but I got busy with school and have yet to finish the first lol OTL I used to play it when I was super young and now re-playing the old games made me remember why I liked them so much! It also kinda of retroactively make me not like Tomb Raider 2013 lol it's still a fun game, don't get me wrong, but it just made me realise how not un-Tomb Raider like it is!
