I’m curious to see. Labyrinth in Greek mythology sometimes involves the Minotaur but we didn’t see any half man half bull stuff.

In any case I hope the song and video are good.

For my ultimate main concern, is the GP (Korean public) Why? if you remember Fingertip when the girls changed their concept, the response by the GP was not very good. Most importantly is both the GP & fandom willing to accept this drastic change. The girls have mentioned how much they want to change their image but is always some of the fandom & GP keep on wanting them to remind their image. So yes , I trust most i-fandom can accept the girls change ; my worries are the GP & some fans because I had seen alot of times they want the girls to go back innocent concept which is not possible (they are young adults they need to grow up too)

I definitely trust on the girls' song . About Mv is possible is lumpens as recently lazy.sentimental follow them and sirens was seen in TFTMN time so maybe they will use them (just a guess)

GFriend gives a unique sounds that could be done in many ways so I think a lot depends on how drastic of a change it is. Labyrinth was probably a close hint and a lot of folks liked that one. Crossroads didn’t do very well digitally so I guess they don’t have a ton to lose.

I liked the idea of Labyrinth but I didn't actually like the song all that much.  Siren concept is interesting, but I'm also a little worried about *TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION* because I like Gfriend's color, and I think it's really unique, and last time they did something really totally different we got Fever, which was unique for Gfriend but not unique for what everyone else in the industry was doing... which is not my favorite for them.

Sirens in greek mythology were about seduction and longing.  A siren's song, metaphorically, is something you yearn for that maybe isn't the best for you, or is potentially dangerous, or just something you can't have, but you can't get out of your head.  I suspect the concept will be more like wanting something you shouldn't than Gfriend actually being the sirens (y'know, luring people to their deaths), but I suppose we could get a fantasy concept... it'd certainly be different for them.  Either way, it's def a darker tone.  I'm not sure that'll fare that well among the gp in the summer, but for my own selfish desires, dark dance-rock could be cool.

The thing is, just from the title, Song of the Sirens totally sounds passionate melancholic, not different from their usual direction.

You know what actually reminds me of a siren song??  Those ooh ooh ooh bits from the Crossroads teaser, that weren't anywhere in Crossroads or the Labyrinth EP.  What if that's a spoiler???

Sounds like a siren calling

When I watch crossroads for the first time  I did wonder about the "oh oh oh" part but that time , I thought it was just the same bgm that they used in The Fact Music Awards last year (the transition from TFTMN to Sunrise aroun 4:06)

Here is a compilation done by a kbuddy (Song of the Siren + Crossroad MV ending bgm + Sunrise mv background sound <- I think is similar to the one that they used for TFMA 2019 where the transition of TFTMN & Sunrise; just TFMA bring in the vocal sound but very soft)

i def think its interesting that with SS SouMu chose to market it as "the true meaning of SummerFriend". Even FS, while the marketing focused on their "mature image" it was also being pushed as "a performance suitable for hot summer".

Yet with SOTS they barely mentioned anything about it being a Summer Comeback 😂 or maybe not yet lol

Either ways im super intrigued as to what this drastic change will take the form of, especially given their hair colours

though I want to reserve comments till we actually hear an audio snippet 🤡

hmm I think I agree that the TFMA is the same as the Sunrise backing vocals, but to me it sounds very different from the oohhooooohhhs in the Crossroads teaser (and whatever song sample that twitter used at the beginning of the clip).  That siren song is spooky af tho.

That’s my concern but someone pointed out they’ve stated in past comebacks it would be a bit different than what they’ve done before or a return to their roots and it’s not really that dramatic. I do agree a little with some netizens on Nate that the concept matters a bit less and the song just needs to be good.
