I think that's unknown currently. Typically how it works in similar situations, from what I understand, the parent company can give or loan funds to the subsidiary, but part of their profits go to the parents company.

I figured that would be the case. Thank you for the answer. :lovestruck:

hi, buddies. sorry for being inactive but rl happens. i have the results for the discography rate but i wont be able to post before next week and im just wondering if you prefer to wait and then rate and add labyrinth ?

the japanese logo reminds me of season of glass logo. i will soon need to update the op with the new logos ehe

I'm fine with waiting, but at the same time I'm also curious :ninja: Whatever you/the majority choose is fine with me.

A Tale of the Glass Bead...not sure how I feel about it. The English was immediately off-putting, but I think my main 'issue' was that this video made me worry that this comeback is gonna try some deep story. I've always preferred GFreind's simple MVs whereas I wasn't found of the 'story-heavy' (not sure how else to describe it) Fingertip. I mean, I now it's just a teaser, it just got me a bit nervous. I'm probably just overreacting though, it's probably just to create hype and give a recap of the previous titles. I'm still hoping they won't try something too extreme for the MV, but tbh as long as the song is good (which it 99.99% will be since its GFriend), it's all good. :ohbi:

I feel like nobody really likes that song. I listen to LOL the album pretty frequently in the car and Distance is a great track to listen to while driving! ❤️

Distance was done so dirty. :ohpressor:The supreme b-side deserves better.

Finally, I get to check everything out. Let's start with the album, Crossroads. A masterpiece. Love it. I mean, Umji starting a title track (okay minus that one bit from SinB, she kinda started the song :hehe:). of course I'd love it. Plus Yerin got quite a few lines as well. I mean, this might be my favorite song now. Seriously, it's just great. For the B-sides, Labyrinth, I adore this song. There really aren't enough words to describe how much I utterly LOVE Labyrinth. It's honestly title track material and I think I love it as much as Crossroads.

Here We Are. Great, easily my 2nd favorite b-side. Very close to Labyrinth, but Labyrinth is just SO good.

Eclipse. I like it. The melody is really pretty and I love the girls' voices in it.

Dreamcatcher is pretty. I like my soft, calming b-sides and this one is lovely. From Me is pretty much in the same boat. Really soft and pretty. I like it.

As usual, another 10/10 album. GFriend never disappoints here, so I wasn't all too worried.

Now let's talk about that MV. I don't like it. I really don't like it. This might be the first MV I dislike since Fingertip and I dislike this one even more than that one. I don't know what the hell they were trying to do with Crossroads, but that was just bad. It was waaaaaaayyyyyyyyy too edgy for one thing. Like, TFTMN had an emotional story and MV. So did Memoria. Both were really cinematic and pretty. But Crossroads was too much. It felt like they were trying to make a movie instead of an MV and I didn't like that. And of course, the utter lack of choreography is the final nail in the coffin. GFriend is known for their dancing, so an MV with no dancing in it....just why? It's literally what so many people love GFriend for. Even casual fans at least can always compliment them on their dance skills. Why have absolutely no choreography in the video? Sorry, but no. That was a huge let down for me. The video could have been so much better if they'd incorporated some dance scenes in there. Again, this is a music video, not a short film.

So of course, now the choreo. It's nice. I liked it a lot. Umji actually got some good center time so that was nice. It definitely doesn't top Sunrise's choreography, but I do like it more than Fever. Maybe I'll like it a bit more after I see some more stages. But still, the dance is really nice. So why couldn't it be in the MV?! Like seriously, I don't get it, but I'll stop harping on it because I want this to be a positive post since the album is lit overall.

Bad MV, but good choreography and AMAZING album. Overall, this comeback is a winner (Like all GFriend comebacks :chu:)

Man, seeing more of the choreography, just makes me even more upset that there was none in the MV :donthinkso: There's so many random scenes where it would have been so much better to show some dancing.

SouMu has a website now 👀

Source never had a website all this time? :derp: Now I feel dumb, I always just assumed they did.

Is anyone else... not really that concerned with charting?  I think it's clear that SouMu is focusing a lot more on fans than gp now.  I mean, they're having another tour, they're bringing in the best sales they have ever so far, I mean I think SouMu is really trying to create that massive fandom that you would see with boy groups, because in the long run, I think it maybe brings in more money than digital sales.

And for people that want a change of pace, I suspect that summer will bring us a different composer, since this is the third song in what I think will be a trilogy (since gfriend likes trilogies).

Spoiler

I've personally never really cared about charting. Especially when they haven't even started promoting it yet.

Finally the live stages. I'm so glad Labyrinth is the b-side they're promoting. The choreography is awesome. The only thing I didn't like were the back-up dancers. I dislike background dancers in general, but these chicks felt completely unnecessary. Also, idk but Labyrinth gave me some serious Awakening vibes when they performed it. Now I feel like it actually would have fit on The Awakening album.

I wanted to wait until a live stage to give my full opinion on Crossroads's choreography. It's decent, but feels really simple. It doesn't really have a big standout move imo. I might actually like Fever more than Crossroads. That said, I will praise the dance for fixing the issue I've had with most of GFriend's choreographies, in that I can clearly see all 6 girls for most of the song. It doesn't feel like 1 girl is covered by someone else for 90% of the song and that is such a relief.

I started freaking out when I saw Sowon was sick what with that virus going around. Thank goodness it's only the stye. I hope all of the girls that safe and healthy.

I've been liking the outfits they've performed in so far. I really hope they do a stage with the Room teaser outfits. Those are my favorites. :chu:
