Love Whisper was pretty lackluster to me and this one sounds like a rehash. I mean where is the energy ? The choreo seems pretty weak as well. I feel like they are becoming knockoffs of themselves and I don't like it. I'm fine with criticism and we can't really help not enjoying a song from our bias,I neither like all of their releases,however as for the choreography, I think this is enough for me. Even if the song isn't that good it's fine. This is what the girls prepared in middle of love whisper promos and considering how busy they were,it wasn't easy for them to practice the choreography. Love them more for their variety shows. Fingertip was an exception but not really well received. So I guess it's understandable they went back to the old concept. Korean market rules and makes them money and it demands it from them as it seems. Bit sad as they have so much potential but it's like actors, once you get successful in a role it's really hard to change. Well maybe one day they want to break this but it will need courage and maybe then they will sell not much ... Talking about the concept,I think we should all remember that gfriend is a "Korean" group so first of all we should respect the Korea's public taste. I don't think how they keep going with an innocent concept is counted as something "sad". And dark concepts may be preference of some fans but treating them like a more of a quality concept is something unreal. It's not like no Korean groups can succeed with other concepts for example public prefers the girl crush concept for mamamoo meanwhile the innocent vibe for gfriend. Maybe because gfriend are more to the innocent side compared to mamamoo if you compare them on showtime and weekly idol,they sometimes can be edgy but are mostly cute.However talking about the sound they could still change it keeping the same concept. The first listen probably shot my adrenaline to the sky high but after calming down a bit the song is...so normal and the usage of iggy is getting out of hand. My taste is usually similar to k-fans but this time,I can't deny my disappointment. And can we discuss about our thoughts respectfully ? Whether it's disappointment about charts or the song. If you can't stand it just use the ignore uption but I don't see the wrong with some buddies saying they are sad about the charts. Gfriend has so much good b-sides that demonstrates a lot but most casual or non fans would only know the title tracks. I feel soumu sometimes waste the potential that Gfriend has by playing it safe. Especially concerning the girl's age, its time for more mature looks and concepts (not meaning sexy, but you know, grown woman type of mature) I agree that the girls are in an age which most girls start maturing and acting like a grown adult,but if looking at the Kpop industry,groups same age as Gfriend or groups which have older member are going for the same cutesy/innocent concepts. Most of the more popular groups don't even risk maturing for one comeback.RV and LVLZ went for a more mature yet still innocent concept but went back to cutesy due to under-performance and both of them are older than Gfriend in average. Why would people listen to a Red Velvet 2.0 when the original one exists? Didn't MyB go all blonde and wear contact lenses but failed hard? It's not the issue of the concept,but the issue of the sound. She says not only she finds Umji the prettiest Gfriend member,but even prettier than most female Kpop idols known for visuals I showed her.She was very shocked when I explained about all the hate she previously gotten.It's all about the standards,and they aren't the same everywhere.
