Haven't signed in here for quite a while... and wtf is happening Got into GFRIEND in high school, now I'm graduating from university and this happened... Everything is changing altogether... We haven't even got a clear explanation from any party yet. Are they going to make us wait until 22th May?? I can't believe what is happening right now, this is too sudden.

Don't wanna cause any controversy just because of speculations so I'll put this in spoiler.

If SouMu is really closing down, it actually makes more sense than just because of the negotiation not going well...? If the negotiation was not going well, it'd make absolutely no sense why HYBE reserved two whole d*mn floors for the girls in their new building, with all those album-displaying sections. Yuju filmed the youtube videos there too, failure in negotiation should've had a sign (even if it's not publicized but only between the company and the members). But all of the actions from HYBE and SouMu wasn't indicating the negotiation process was going wrong at all. 

But again, even if SouMu is closing down, it still seems too sudden... Also the way they managed it (basically throw a tweet out there and say nothing else with no plans/future actions told) just doesn't smell right. It's been reported SouMu was suffering loss last year, but I can't really understand why then, BigHit bought SouMu and included them into their labels if the financial statistics of theirs were projected as poor as to the degree that closing down would be in any moment?? And I thought a new girl group from them was coming out this year? Did they just suddenly went bankrupt?

The wait for some official statement/statements from the members is agonizing...

also, their ig followers were typically increasing at a rate of 1k a day, but just yesterday all of their individual accounts each gained 7-8k followers ,, umji already hit 900k and eunha will probs hit 1M today/tmr where was this energy for them when we needed it in 2020 

literally this happens every time an artist/a group is gone... I call it the "They were so good" complex.

I really want what you've said to be real, I don't even care about what name they use as long as they remain together as OT6 because obviously, OBVIOUSLY this is not what they want AT ALL. If they really planned to depart from the group and start a new page of their lives, I'm sure all this mess wouldn't have happened...

But at this point it just seems crazy to have this big charade of saying goodbye just to move together to another agency. I really hope time will prove me wrong tho.

This and also the fact that the industry people were posting about how sad they are to part with them... It really shows that the bond between the members and their nice reputation in the industry is totally real and how respected they are.

As for the last minute change in contract renewal, now that I've thought about it, Yuju was crying every time she saw buddies these few months... I know she has always been like that but even that + all those reminiscing posts really hinted all of these. The members always cried during their Vlive recently as well... I'd believe they knew it'll come to an end. Maybe it's the date that took everyone by surprise? Everything seemed rush maybe all of them expected a termination in contract but didn't expect it to be happening so soon in May? So they thought they'd have more time to say goodbye and give hint to the fans etc. That would explain all the normal schedule, HYBE museum because all of them expected to run things normally until later. Would that be a possible situation? But honestly I don't know how it is possible to happen in this way.

So a lil conclusion from wt we know and suspect now is the members knew they weren't going to renew (the signs) and that MAGO was pushed forward in order to give space to a junior group that we don't even f**king hear no update about them as for now, half year after MAGO's release (wtf soumu). And somehow the whole thing is so f**ked up that they had to release a press article about the disbandment before even telling all the internal staff. Hence all the normal schedule and HYBE stuff going on. 

However the behind story is like, the way they treated the girls and handle the matter was totally inexcusable. I don't understand in what way the company would allow a contract renewal pends to 4 DAYS BEFORE THE TERMINATION. As a company, shouldn't they make clear the future of their ONLY group to plan for future things?? Even if the members didn't tell them, I'm sure any company functioning normally would've asked for a finalized response from the members months or even weeks before. As for the farewell song, I don't think the members could keep it from the company that much and if it exists, they must've known. And let's say the contract termination happened that way, there's no reason to cancel for the farewell song release unless they went apart suddenly on REALLY bad terms.

And Soumu's debt is not some normal debt that a company its size would bear, it's a very huge amount (I don't know much about business, butI think we're talking about millions of USD here?). Surely the ensembles or whatever the girls was using was expensive, but I suspect there's more than that, as I'm sure they were still making profit till 2019? Is it truly not some problems with their investment in the new group? And is that the reason why we haven't heard about the new group's update when they were supposed to debut already?

After all these news and update, the anger just didn't subside, instead it intensified lol fr, WTF Source Music.

No, I definitely agree with you. It'd not make sense if HYBE has no part in it. Usually when a group contract ends there'll be tabloids reporting rumors about the future of the members, but so far we've got none. That says something as well.

I guess this has come to an end... I'll never forget how I first discovered you, how much I anticipated the first comeback of yours, the first time watching GFRIEND in Europe, checking your comeback even when I'm travelling or on the bus back home from school, endlessly refreshing all the GFRIEND pages for updates. This 6 years are and will always be a treasure to me. I'll forever be grateful that I can grow up with all these memories.
