Each episode is reeling me in more and more.  Why won't the dad allow him to like his daughter?

Just finished watching ep 3. The guy with the blue car and his mom is kinda CREEPY!!!

I agree!  I thought she was going to say he was crazy and that he can't meet this random girl not encourage him  :imstupid:

Comments about ep 4:

1. Finally the transformation of Lee Jong Suk! My eye candy is back! He looks sooo good. And when Dal Po has transformed, there goes In Ha comes wearing a sweater with hoodie in front and snacks inside of the hoodie  I was like omgosh how could the writer come up with putting snacks inside the hoodie in front?! I've never even thought about it! As expected from Park Hye Ryun, after the hat with bottled drinks that Hye Sung wears in I Hear Your Voice, now wearing a hoodie with the hoodie in front and putting snacks inside of it, how convenient  She should've been an inventor seriously

2. The emotional scene when Dal Po exploded pointing out the mistakes of reporters, this scene really blows me. This is the best scene and the scene that leaves the greatest impression of this episode to me. I keep repeating that part because I can feel the deepness of emotional scar that Dal Po has within from his explosion, especially when he mentioned about how it's a deadly mistake. I can feel how deep is anger and his sadness. I want to clap on this scene because it's so emotional and LJS expressed it so well. Applause for him

3. I didn't expect In Ha to realize her feeling to Dal Po this soon tbh. I hope it'll develop naturally in the future

I've seen the meme/lifehack or whatever you call those pictures around FB for a few years now, it was a guy at work who filled his hoodie with popcorn.

here: http://www.ohgizmo.com/2013/02/13/lifehack-turn-your-hoodie-into-a-popcorn-holder/

I expected that they both had feelings for each other since he has always protected her and they're always saying "don't misunderstand" when they've done something nice for the other.  I thought it was more random she somewhat admitted it to some strange creepy guy that was smiling at her before.

the dad's sooo creepy.

he's obsessed with his daughter but i feel like he'll eventually let them be together because dal po's super sincere about her...

It was somewhat a hypothetical question... I know why he doesn't want them be together.  He's looking down on Dal Po because he still doesn't know where he came from, he's pretty much an orphan.  He wants the best for his daughter, and Dal Po hasn't got anything to prove he can provide for her.  Like he said, even if a well-educated rich man was interested in her, he still wouldn't be satisfied.  Let's hope he changes his mind soon.  Grandfather seems to be on Dal Po's side at aleast

Episode 4:

They're going to kill off the grandpa, aren't they :horror:  they're going to kill him off (probably to get rid of the whole uncle/niece bit) and I'm going to be a mess. His entire scene with Dalpo was amazing here, transformation aside. All this time Dalpo's been pretending hasn't been for nothing, and now he can stop and get on with doing whatever he wants to, and his 'father''s okay with it.

LJS falls apart so, so well. There was no exception here, starting with the debate that got so intense and through how he went against Inha (for the first time ever?) and ending with him mourning his father outside. Ridiculously emotional and he portrayed it incredibly well, it's no surprise that that was the scene that got the highest ratings (though idk how they even measure that, lol).

I wonder how they'll end up making the brothers meet up again.

I didn't either, but I think it makes sense. And I don't think it'll be rushed or anything. Inha likes him, but she doesn't actually know him -- she doesn't even know about his past, which has basically made him who he is now. When he went against her in the debate, I think it kind of woke her up to that -- there's a lot about him that she doesn't know, and that has to intrigue her now.

WHAT!?!

This is my first time watching LJS act and I totally agree, he does the breaking down part so well.  The scene was also written well, where he was up on the rooftop, he checked to see if anyone was insight before breaking down and cry.  Same as the brother, crying all alone

A bit OOT but seriously is this the first time watching LJS acts although you have him as your badge? :omg: I Hear Your Voice is his most famous classic work, I thought most people like LJS from watching dramas.

For me I'm amazed at his acting when he exploded more. He did that scene so well, the anger and bitterness of Dal Po on reporters and others is delivered so well.

I was curious of his acting after the first 2 episodes and I somehow saw (probably related videos on YouTube) that he was in a drama with Woobin so I had to check it out (School 2013).  Instant fan after that  :ahmagah:  I'm curious about " I Hear Your Voice" but I'm way too attached to him pairing with PSH currently.  I might check it out after this finishes but I'm not too fond of Korean love plots.

PSH introducing me too all these awesome actors. I don't watch Korean series unless it has PSH (since Tree of Heaven), that's how I became a Woobin fan too.  From watching her in The Heirs, Woobin was the drama's saving grace of that terrible drama.  :rlytearpls:

One of the songs in the OST was released a few days ago, I hope the one by "Every Single Day" comes out soon, I love that song.

I Hear Your Voice is actually a bit different than general Korean love plots imo. I think the whole drama is really good and it's one of my fav drama all the time, so I definitely recommend you should watch IHYV after Pinocchio. His character in IHYV has similar personality with him in Pinocchio tho. If you want to watch him acting a whole different personality of what he acted in Pinocchio, I recommend you watch Hot Blood Youth (movie). The movie is pretty good as well, and actually Kim Young Kwang is also in it. LJS character in this movie is so interesting you'll be entertained by his acting there definitely  He has different personality in Doctor Stranger too but this drama is a mess so I don't really recommend it, unless you can go through the whole drama just to see him acting a whole different personality lol

In School 2013 his character is pretty much emotionless so it's not a good indicator to see his acting, also tbh the drama is a bit boring as well. But of course there's Woobin as well and Woobin-Jongsuk bromance that I'm sure you'll like watching it :hurr:

I've watched almost all of Lee Jong Suk's works since I'm his fan as well, so if you have questions about the dramas he's in you can ask me :meow: Tbh the first time I was charmed by him is when he acted as a gay in Secret Garden  Haha.

I liked his acting in School 2013 because he really lives up to the nickname his fan gave him of "Chemi/Kaemi Angel".  I thought there was some love plot in that drama and had no clue who he was going to end up with.  At one point I thought he was after Jang Nara  :har:  I was intrigued that they just focused on the bullying/brotherhood and just left the "love" plot to interpretation.  Although he had an emotionless character, he showed a lot through his eyes.  That's what attracts me most in actors/actresses as other body languages are easy to develop (as a skill) but eyes are harder to manipulate, IMO.  I could be wrong but that's just how I've always appreciated them.  An actor/actress could be really great at body language and their voice, but if I can't see the emotions expressed through their eyes then I don't see the greatness in their acting.  After all, eyes are windows into your soul  :stare:

Lee Jong Suk is definitely showing more of his skills in this drama compared to School 2013, the anger and sadness in his eyes.  When he looks at PSH with both loving and vengeance in his eyes  :ilove:

I will have to bug you in future through PM about other dramas or movies he's in.  I will take your advice and watch Hot Blood Youth after this series ends.

I seriously don't know how anyone else can still say PSH can't act after this drama, she's so natural at her role.  Cracking egg using her head  :derp:

Bum Jo is starting to grow on me and being less creepy since he doesn't need to creep on her anymore in episode 6.  I wonder if he knew about the egg white and egg yolk thing from her SMSs because that was DalpxInHa thing

Don't open the spoiler if you haven't seen episode 9

In Ha now knows Dal Po's secret and she's probably going to hate her mother now. This drama is getting better and better each episode.

The ending of ep9 is just

It seems like the episodes start off happy then just to tear-jerk at the end.  Is this the producer'ss/writer's style because it really takes a toll on your emotions.  I don't think I could watch another story/drama written by him  :._.:

She should hate her mother tbh, I don't blame her, not just for Dal Po's family but most likely for her mother's whole career.  She has no remorse.. although she seems to a little in this ep.  I wonder if there's a story as to why she's the way she is or is it all really just her career driven personality.

tell me why did he ever do dr stranger. this drama is srsly one of the best ive seen so far

:._.:  this so much. it was like a huge stain in his filmography. but at least he got recognition for his acting in that drama. and i got to know the awesome kang sora

when will jongsuk get alive parents again tho. three consecutive dramas that his parents (esp the father!!!) got killed.

Is that drama that bad?  :hurr:

I think people overlook PSH's acting because of the characters she portrays are always the same not so much her acting.  I could be bias though, also everyone judges her on her kiss scenes

As for LJS, I could see his acting potential from Friends 2013 even though some may say his character was too 1D in that one.  He's very good with his eyes and little body movements to show his frustration, anger, sadness.  I don't know his name but the actor for Jae Myeong, he always makes me want to tear up whenever he appears on screen because "sorrow" is expressed so well on his face

Bum-jo is growing on me as he's such a sweety despite being a creeper first.  How he got InHa's mothers phone was revealed I was like :ilove:  Yoo Rae is still annoying to me.

I have still yet to watch episode 10 but I saw the preview of ep11 and I'm already preparing tissues for that one  :horror:

There's no subs but you don't need them to know what's going on :horror:

so i was not the only one who repeated that scene many times lol. that was such a heartbreaking moment and showed it very well i cried with him   also that preview of him hitting his bro

i'm so hung up on that last episode i cant even watch misaeng rn :horror:  wednesday pls come fasteeeer. i wonder what other big conflict will be in the 2nd half of the show since in the preview it seems like the bro thing is somehow getting solved.

and can someone give yoon yoo rae some backstory???? so far she's only being a comic relief and i'm also getting tired of that "dalpo has a crush on me" thing going on. the character sounded so interesting when the descriptions came out so i really hope there's more aside from her being a sasaeng. it's also a waste of lee yoobi since she's a good actress.

I thought she was going to be an interesting character too like they're going to do something about sasaeng fans and give us some new light or the real ones.  They could have done so much with her character but she's pretty much still using her sasaeng skills to help her as a report.  Pretty much what the description of her character says and nothing more, nothing less.

She's a really annoying side character to me right now.  If i could I'd skip her scenes but they're relevant to the cases so I can't  :._.:

Yo am I the only one who thinks her acting has improved ALOOOOT

I really love her character in this drama

And I like how the child actress and her seemed like the same person. Thy protracted the child to adult really well. In most drama it's feels like it's 2 different people (even tho thy r) but this drama made me feel she just grew up, like it was more real

If That makes sense lol

I felt the same thing watching ep1-2, it's like she studies how PSH acts.  I could already see her as mini PSH in her acting.  Have you watched 'I miss you'?  I felt the same thing for the girl (who's like on Mcountdown yet I forget her name) and Yoon Eun Hye.

I was hoping it would be him. I'm so happy to see Laywer Cha as the public defender.

Lol at Suzy being the Professor's daughter.

I love the cameos in this drama.

Wrong thread/drama?

can i have my happy episodes back now :( the last two eps are too heartbreaking. i kinda hate ha myeong for what he did to grandpa. to that person who took him and treated him like his own son, who loved him, and is willing to overlook his past. ugh, is that the best he can do. :soul: just give me dal po :._.:

I was sad for grandpa too but I understand Dalpo/HaMyeong, in a way he's punishing himself for all the happiness he had growing up while his brother was living in vengeance.  It's not an easy thing to go through; finding out the truth and figuring out what to do from there

  • 3 weeks later...

I've been avoiding this thread like the plague until I caught up with all the episodes.  I'm starting to feel bad for Beom Jo and am afraid he's going to get a horrible ending.  Yoo rae is still annoying as hell to me and I can totally see them pairing her with cap....

Bum-Jo will die, I'm feeling it :(

No  :unimpressed:

Did anyone notice that it looks like Bum Jo is recording things between him and his mother.

It's hard to miss since they make it so bluntly obvious, no subtleness in the camera work at all

That man has big plans and it's probably going to ruin him emotionally and financially.  You can tell he hates all the luxury he's been living in were from evildo-ings from his mother in the name of business  :horror:
