(Skip to 11:00 for the song)

Well, this definitely isn't what I expected (the CM version is REALLY different), but I love it just the same, and I think I can see why Ichiro considers this to be the "real" A-side for this single.  Lot of emotion all right.

This is a great single on the whole, and I can't wait to get an actual download of it next week.  And... if I caught something on the broadcast right, Sakanaction are working on their next album (the title is Tokyo-related, as is the album's theme).

Edit:  Gah, the youtube video cut it up a bit.  I'm looking for another source, though the Nico link DOES have the full track.

Gah, please find it soon because it sounds so good

Nico link not working for you (I could have sworn Nicozon worked for people without accounts)?  Well, try this embedded version for the moment and see if it's any better, since there's nothing on the Youtube front yet:

Ok... First of all, this is REALLY different from the CM version:

I do like the real version of the song but I still really want to hear the CM version. It just makes me wonder, where is the CM version of the song? Also, where the version of Goodbye with Tamaki ROY? What is this all leading to?

Honestly, the real version of the song is a grower and I've come to really like it (it's probably the song with the most overt rock elements interspersed in it they've had in a while).  But I have to agree with you on the CM version of the song - it almost seems like they just gave out that snippet before they were anywhere near done with the composition for "Sayonara wa Emotion".  As to the version of Goodbye with Tamaki ROY, isn't that UStream session included with this new single?

It's interesting that it looks like they're not going for a Best though, at least not the way Ichiro was talking in that segment.  They seem to have an actual album planned (my bet would be on a March-May release next year).

You think this sounds more "rock" than Goodbye?

The snippet... it very much does seem like they were told that they need a song so they came up with that. I really do wonder now if that was nothing more than a snippet. It was in line with what Ichiro said he wanted to do going forward, with experimenting with Afrobeat and whatnot. So I wonder if that plan was scrapped?

Yes, that session is going to be part of the dvd footage but I want the actual song.

I honestly don't know if it's a best or studio album but at least we know that there is an album in the pipeline. I wouldn't be surprised if it popped up in the second quarter of next year, with a new single in the first.

Yes and no - I think "Goodbye" is more of a rock song, but I think there are more aspects traditionally defined as "elements of rock" in "Sayonara wa Emotion".  Weird though that may sound.

I think there had to have at least been a little more to that snippet, since it definitely started in media res.  I think the real question is whether work on it started before or after the work on "Goodbye / Eureka", since if it was before, their work on those might have changed their plans.

All of their songs this era seem to fall into one of two categories:  raw, emotional somewhat more rock-ish tracks, and more electronic, atmospheric tracks.  It's a very interesting contrast, and I have to wonder how they would fit together on an album.

I agree with that assessment, though I'm leaning more towards it being a studio release just given what he was saying, since it almost seemed conceptual at times.  Still, I suppose we'll see what the next few months bring.

Surprise: double album!

i like it. I think the instrumental is better here than in Goodbye but Goodbye hit me with more emotion than this song did. That could have been because Goodbye had a PV to go along with it though. Looking forward to the single.

Hey, a studio set and a Best have been paired before (see J Soul Brothers), so it's not impossible.

I'm thinking more a rock disc and an electronic disc.

Is it because Zayn from One Direction died?

Oh - you meant an ACTUAL double-album.  Yeah, thinking on it, I could see them going that route and being extremely successful.  Thinking on that, it's possible that we might see some alternate album versions of some of these tracks - we know at the very least that there IS one for "Hasu no Hana" in the works, so why not more (I could see the original version of Sayonara wa Emotion potentially being that kind of thing, if they go for a major rework)?

I've been poking around as well, since I really wanted to see a proper live of their new stuff, but no dice on anything on my end thus far either.

I have a new source but their uploads are tedious to say the least: http://video.fc2.com/en/member?mid=14627898

They upload a lot of stuff but they don't use file names. Like I know the first number is the day but the rest are who knows what...

Special site for the single too: http://www.jvcmusic.co.jp/sakanaction/10thsingle_sp/

My guess is "Date-Time in Military Time-Month-No Idea".  The last might be TV Channel related, but I don't know enough about how Japan does stuff to be sure.  Wondering when those MVs are going to drop, since they usually release at least one prior to the single dropping.

I remember Eureka coming out a week or 2 before the cd. Goodbye came out the day of. I remember Yoru no Odoriko coming out the Friday after the cd.
