It's more likely that they just didn't get booked, to be honest it's quite unusual for a rookie group to appear on all music shows as quickly as Purfles did. Each show has a limited number of slots so as more groups debut or comeback it pushes the other groups that are further down the list off the schedule completely. We may see some occasional performances over the next few weeks but I wouldn't expect it to be as busy as the first week or two.

 

That said, they are down to appear on Inkigayo on the 9th and SBS MTV The Show on the 11th. (They've also got a guest appearance booked for Na Yoon Kwon's concert on the 9th.)

It looks like Purfles recorded for Arirang's K-POPULOUS earlier this week so people should keep an eye out for that on the TV listings, we'll probably get answers to some of the bigger questions about the group when that airs.

FYI Purfles are scheduled for MBC Music Core tomorrow.

 

They also had an appearance on ETN Chart Folio (차트í´ë¦¬ì˜¤) listed for after MusicBank today. It's a show I believe Heyne presents (she did earlier in the year anyway) so keep an eye out for that, it may appear on youtube at some point.

I'd like to know their musical influences (I'm guessing Bruno Mars is one of them , maybe TLC).  What their goals are as a group and individually.  Their English experience.  Where they like to promote.  Stuff like that.

I'd guess that mu-gyo (무êµ) is some sort of contraction of the korean words mushinlon jonggyo (무신론 종êµ) with ë¬´ì‹ ë¡  meaning atheism and ì¢…êµ meaning religion. The Korean version of wikipedia has a page on irreligion (ie non religious) under ë¬´êµ and the English version of the same page has 46.5% of Koreans falling under this category.

Double schedule today (the 18th), SBS MTV's The Show and KFN's Consolatory Train (in other words the army show). This should be interesting since the military generally has a reputation for being quite receptive to attractive girl groups (as seen in this

). Some groups also ramp up the fanservice a bit (I have my eye on you Wooyoung) when they're doing this kind of show. In terms of staging and time allocation, it seems to vary depending on where Consolatory Train is being held (Bob Girls last month,

(One reason I originally suggested it was there's singular/plural system that's employed quite often in K-fandoms, eg Sistar - fandom: STAR1 fans: STAR1s, Shinee - fandom: Shawol fans:Shawols, 2PM - fandom: Hottest fans: Hottests etc.

If Purfect ended up being the actual name, it'd give you the opportunity when asked to say that "Our fandom is Purfect"  )

As far as I can remember I didn't have the option to vote in the 2nd poll until I deleted my vote from the old one, now it won't register a new one when I try to re-vote.

I just hope whatever song they come out with gets them more recognition. They really deserve it. I agree with you. I hope their next song utilizes their vocals more as well.

 

I'm going to optimistically hope for a mini album with 4-5 songs. That way they can cover a number of different bases in terms of styles and maybe even promote a couple of songs off it.

 

(unfortunately I think Heyne has only had singles so far... usually about 6 months apart)

I had a feeling this was what we were signing up for when I got in to Purfles...

 

If you look at Heyne's promotion cycle its been:

 

Dalla -> Love007 (6 months)

Love007 -> Red Lie (8 months)

Red Lie -> My Heart (7 months)

 

Based on that, we really should be due a comeback this or next month. The problem is a lot of big groups are back or coming back this summer so it makes it more difficult for the newer groups to get any public attention (and may even make it difficult to get a slot on the music shows). I hope we don't have to wait until the end of summer, but it is a possibility.

Well, the only reasons I can think of why all the members would completely stop using their SNS accounts and basically disappear from view don't bode well for Purfles future... I hope I'll be proven wrong soon, though. :/

I mean, Heyne doesn't completely disappear from the Internet/view between combacks, does she?

 

It doesn't necessarily go to form that it's a bad thing, some of the most active people I follow on SNS are the former Badkiz and Bob Girls members!

 

 

 

Granted, with Bob Girls two members are about to re-debut in a new group and one has become a trainee under another agency but with Badkiz all the members bar one were simply cut and replaced after their last promotion.

 

 

 

Some companies may basically have a group go to ground once they've finished promoting, particularly if their SNS accounts are company accounts. It's not great from a noise and PR perspective but it leaves the company in control over what gets out and what doesn't. 

 

A lot of the perceived momentum from Purfles debut was down to i-fans support on forums like this. There was a 'favourite debut from last year' thread earlier this week and 1,2,3 got posted or quoted about 6 times in the space of a page and a half. When you look at the number of followers the official group accounts have (1100+ on twitter, 2500+ on facebook and 7000+ on youtube) they still have a distance to go before they're really 'known' in Korea.

 

Hopefully Crescendo has some sort of a working relationship with one of the TV networks to create some opportunities to get the girls out there when they do come back. That plus a (quality) well timed comeback could help them move up a notch in the public consciousness.
