Do you like pickled foods?

I like it! There are two major types of pickled foods: sour and sweet. I seem to like sour more because I don't really have a sweet tooth...

So far I've tasted:

Pickled Mango: pickled in a sour/spicy mixture...also the mangoes that are used are mostly raw/sour themselves

Pickled green Chili: So good OMG pickled chili and white rice is DA BOMB

Pickled Lemon: Not a big fan but its ok~

Pickled Tomato: ''

Pickled Garlic: Yummaaay

Pickled radish: I don't like radish in general -__- so nope

Pickled gooseberry: surprisingly good~

as for sweet pickles, the only one I've tried is the sweet version of pickled gooseberry. I tried the dry one and its not too bad!

I really want to try

Kimchi

pickled cucumbers/Zucchini

pickled egg (I hope it'll help me get over my recent aversion towards egg)

Pickled lotus stem (I've only had the plain boiled ones and I like it a lot!)

Pickle lovers, do you have any other recommendations for me?

no, im not a big fan of rotten food (:

Um pickles are preserved in vinegar, the vinegar kills the bacteria so the food does not rot. Kimchi is fermented, not the same as rotten, if that were the case then beer and wine are also rotten. The good bacteria prevents the growth of bad bacteria and preserves the food.

I make my own kimchi, 2 gallons at a time because we eat a lot of it. My youngest daughter loves Vietnamese mustard greens so I taught her how to make them. I have also made pickled peppers and cucumbers but I prefer fermenting.
