While he has gained a lot of support from mainlanders for his recent post of the Occupy Central protests, Jackie Chan has also been slammed by many who believe that the action star is the last person who has any credibility to talk.

As reported on Independent News, previously the "CZ12" star, whose social networking account, Weibo, has been inactive for quite a while, recently posted a message to express his thoughts about the protest.

He wrote, "I found out through the news that Hong Kong's economic loss has reached HKD 350 billion (approximately USD 45 billion) and I am really worried. I believe every Hong Kong resident loves Hong Kong and wishes it well."

"Hong Kong's bright future requires everybody's support and hard work. Just like in the song "Nation", it goes, 'There is no prosperous home without a strong country'. I am willing to work hard with everyone and return to rationality, to face the future, love our country, love our Hong Kong."

However, Jackie's statement rubbed Netizens the wrong way. One Netizen urged Jackie to stop talking about politics and disciplined his own son first, referring to Jaycee Chan's recent drug arrest for using and possessing marijuana, while others reminded that Jackie was not a stranger to protests as well, using examples of his 1999 Anti-Piracy Alliance protest and 1996's protest against Triad violence.

Jackie Chan is just trying to help. Damn why you gotta attack the man.

Jackie Chan is know to be sort of Beijing lapdog.

He said in the past Hong Kong is chaotic, Chinese people need to be controlled, he is hated in Taiwan for speaking again democracy, etc...

There are pictures of him using drivers with military licensed plate when going out, so clearly the guy is connected.
