ORIGINAL:

"BLANC & ECLARE Loves Giving"

Budding fashion designers and fans can enter the BLANC & ECLARE Design Competition by submitting sketches via email to [email protected]. On November 20, 2014, the entry period will close and Head Designer Jessica Jung will select a shortlist that will be featured on a designated website where people can cast their vote for a certain period. The winning design by majority vote will be announced shortly thereafter with presales and expected delivery by Spring 2015.

Terms and conditions

Once a design is submitted to the contest, the designer agrees to transfer ownership of the design to BLANC & ECLARE. To recognize the designer’s contribution to the winning style, his/her name will be engraved on the inside temple of every pair produced and sold.

lmao who forgets the charity and donations part in the original? It's good they clarified, but tbh good PR stunt--> even worse reputation than they already have. The original made it seem like some money would be donated and the rest would go to the company, aka making money off of someone else's designs. I'm 99% sure this is just the usual PR stunt, but at least they're donating all the profits to charity. It's good to help other people in need, better than doing nothing.

I started to think might be she should pay for damage and stop doing whatever she is doing with that shady Tyler and talentless PR team before she damages her reputation any further. Lay down, go to school to study for designing and business management then come back and restart B&E with new team.

?  What damages does she have to pay for?  Her contract isn't being terminated or anything, so there doesn't seem to be any issue of penalty fees or whatever.

not contract with SM, the penalty fees for whatever associated with B&E now. I'm afraid she would be damaged more if this situation keeps continuing. Stop before it's too late.

Ah, that.  I dunno, even if she could pay the fees it might make it harder for her to try again in the future even if she'd technically have a more solid foundation.  While it's common for first businesses to fail, I'm not sure when is the best point to call it quits, considering we don't even know how she's selling in Lane Crawford yet.

I think she could. She is a millionaire and came from a wealthy family from the start and her baby sis is making million too. B&E is a debt-free company too so she doesn't have to worry about interest or such thing, and it gives her a lot of time to. I didnt want her to close B&E, I think she should take a break, make a couple of steps back then come back full force.

Again, debt-free just means that instead of taking on "loans," Jessica's own money is at stake in regard to her percentage of the business. That could be worse for her if it fails, since she would simply lose most, if not all, of that money.

Assuming the worst case scenario, I don't think Jessica will have a second chance in fashion. Not in Asia, at least. People would absolutely crucify her if B&E fails, unless it comes out that Tyler/CCP was an evil behind everything.

I wouldn't be so quick to call it debt free without looking at the terms agreed to for her investors. Sometimes agreements are signed promising them a certain return. If the company didn't turn enuf profit their may be penalties she us subject to.

Tyler said B&E was a debt free company. I didn't make that up. Anw, thanks for the information.

Okay I may be mistaken here but I am seeing an actual website pic showing the charity information as a part of it and the part that says it's the original isn't part of a website pic it is just normal typing like could be done on here. Is there an actual pic of the original wording and not just some typing where someone could have just deleted the charity thing off the end and said it was the original?

i mean it's great they're supporting a charity and what not, but it also sounds to me like a way for them to add to their collection without having to pay anyone (the designer). and what will happen once this charity drive is over? in the disclaimer it says that once designs are submitted, the ownership transfers to B&E, so technically they can continue selling the design after this fundraising initiative.

considering some people are already questioning jessica's actual design skills (or lack thereof) and the credibility of B&E, i think a competition like this doesn't exactly paint her or the company in the most positive light (although their original intention may have been good).

they should have left this competition for a later time (ie. when B&E has officially launched and have become a bit more established).

Seems to me like partnering with such a huge organization like Hedge Funds Care is not something that is done in a few weeks to me. This company is huge and has investors from Wall Street. I wonder how ambitious Blanc & Eclare business plan is? A silly contest to donate money to this organization seems like a well thought out plan to make connections.

Technically they can, but it would be a PR nightmare if someone accused them of taking a design submitted for a charity. So they wouldn't.

Too many businessman and businesswoman here on OH. I bet none of these people have their own business... but they are busy predicting why and how wrong Jessica is.. and how she will fail...

These people cant let go Jessica.. She has nothing right now.. only her brand.. Do you think she will go back to SNSD if her business fail? Instead giving some encouraging words, these people are racing with other to find any mistakes that Jessica or Tyler Kwon have made...

One more thing, she is just Jessica Jung, the former member of SNSD. People should focus on the 8 members of SNSD..
