sasha 2,956
it's not unusual for groups to change their original line-up through career so. is it a protest against SM and the way idols leaving group? or are you just feeling deceived because you believed in their bond~ (which is a bit weird considering that they were teens when they've been placed in the group, they didn't choose these ppl, so chances that their high-school we'll-always-be-together mood won't last long are high imo)? edit: lol maybe it's all k-pop fans who are like this but well SM fans like to come up with theories about how One True is Still True and how some evil third parties separated them or how they will totally reunite etc.
GUILD 3,195
Only thing I can tell you is that it's different in K-Pop lol. It's on average a lot more emotionally invested than the industry of most other countries'.
Arsinoë 1,188
Invested in the family bonds in groups because they lack it in real life? They just want the team intact? They bought the bullshit SM were selling?

lily of the valleyლ 2,310
Well, I guess it's because SM and other Companies are known for marketing their members not only for their music/performance but also for their friendships. A lot of people don't realise that it's actually fake. Fake Fan-Service is something that has consistently been used in Korea for a very long time. International fans often don't understand this concept and therefore feel betrayed when they realise that all they believed was a fragmented lie. alex crossing 2,895
Probably because they get attached to the specific voices, bodies, personalities of the original members and if the lineup changes too much, then it's not the same group to them anymore. They want what was there when they were originally attracted.
Suzuran 353
For me I buy into it knowingly. I know the bond won't be forever or mabye it was never really there but what I want is the illusion of it. If a member is thrown out or added the dynamic is off and it becomes unbalanced in a way. I'm not saying it can't work though. I do however think that if you spend ex amount of years together under the same roof working together everyday there has to be some kind of bond there. sgtninjago 2,190
People just don't like change when their used to something for so long. Its one thing if a group has been out for a short period, have little success, member is not popular/useful; etc, that people are a little bit more willing to it. And believe me, aside from SM groups, groups like Kara, Wonder Girls, After School and T-ara. Not everybody are into member shake-ups.

Neitzenbuzz has already stated that she posts articles which gain negative comments. Take the Jessica scandal for instance, the reaction from I-fans seem to heavily support Jessica whereas Knetz look at both sides.

Leaving an entire fandom just because a member leaves? I think being more reasonable would be chillin out and thinking rationally. denizen mars 5,911
But it's not just "SM fans"? I mean hell, I don't want any of the members of my bias groups to leave. I'm a fan specifically because I like them all together as a package deal. With how fast groups take on and abandon musical genres and concepts, that's basically the reason most people like groups.
