I love Shindong I just don't think he is suited to be an idol. More a comedian. He is so funny! Also I think SM wouldn't promote as many sub-units as SJ have today. How did Shindong qualified to become part of Super Junior, is there any reason perhaps how is it during audition? Shindong was known for having good comedic timing and great potential to be an MC (show host). He did a lot of SM’s internal events too. Remember that Super Junior was meant to be an entertainment unit made up of dancers, actors, comedians and models rather than having them all be idol singers full-time. So, the H-unit was created rather naturally at given circumstances. Was Why* is he being downplayed EDIT: Was = Why Siwon, Kangin, Leeteuk and Kibum were scouted for their looks although they still have to audtion. It is SM's rule. Shindong actually won a talent show. Ryeowook and Kyuhyun won a singing competition. These 3 were then scouted by SM staff that present there. Donghae and Sungmin won a 'Best look' competition held by SM. The rest came to audition by themselves while Eunhyuk was offered to audition after being recommended by his best friend, Xiah Junsu.
