(KPOP Girl Groups) The Current Trend vs The Veterans

I remember back in 2010 and 2011 the girl groups talked most about that weren't from the big 3 & not WonSoKa were 4Minute, T-ara & Secret.. they were basically what Sistar, APink & Girls day are now.. so what do you think?

I chose "Veterans" because "old trend" could have a negative connotation

Anyways! Who do you prefer??

Current 4minute doesn't do anything for me.  I liked Muzik/Hot Issue/Huh/IMMM.  Mirror Mirror was ok, didn't care for Volume Up, don't care for Brave Brother's spin on 4minute.

 

Current Secret is hit or miss.  I don't like cute Secret at all, the cutest they can go for me is Love is Move.  But I didn't like Madonna and Magic quite as much as 4minute's old material; imo their title track selection isn't maximizing their appeal to me now (including the solos).

 

A Pink's concept is not palatable for me.  The only title track I liked from them was Hush, and I think their actual fans didn't like it much, and it looks like they won't revisit that sort of thing for a while yet. XD

 

GsD is only ok.  I like Nothing Lasts Forever, Don't Flirt, Don't Forget Me, Expectation (which represents a nice range of sounds, I think).  I didn't like Female President or Something all that much and don't like their reversions to cute at all.

 

T-ara is also kind of hit-or-miss.  Their first album had a lot of songs I liked, but when they started really taking off in 2011 or so things got kind of repetitive, though I still found most things decent listening.  I liked No.9 but I didn't especially like I Know The Feeling and Sugar Free.  I still would rather they stick with ST than DS/BB.

 

Sistar I like pretty well... I didn't like some of their earliest stuff but Sistar19's discography is solid, Hyolyn's solo was solid.  I didn't like TMB though I Swear was alright, so I hope they go back to BB or something.  Or maybe some of the ppl who did Hyolyn's other tracks... well, some of the ones I liked were still DS tracks, so maybe it's just a track selection issue.  (Kim Do Hoon could be good, too?)

 

So overall, for me I guess it's:

Sistar >> T-ara/Secret >> A Pink > 4Minute/GsD

 

Hm... I guess I should say the reason A Pink is not at the bottom is because I prefer to hear Eunji sing (even if line distro in A Pink is too equitable) than 2Yoon/Minah by far.

Best Group Vocalist??? I'm Star1 too dear, but I admit Sistar ain't the BEST VOCAL GROUP (unfortunately NO ONE in Girl Groups I can say BEST VOCALISTS) Hyorin & Soyou are the only decent singer in Sistar (Bora & Dasom can't even sing) so how come they become BEST VOCAL GROUP?

 

BEST VOCAL GROUP is DAVICHI (though they ain't to be called an IDOL-GROUP)
