IDC reggae is also one of my favorite 2ne1 songs, even amongst the other ones

I think they can really pull off this concept

My babies, can't wait  :ilove:  :ilove:

How was I Love You trot in any way though? I've grown to like that song, but Trot? :wth: Was that by YG himself?

That's why I said hopefully it's not like the "trot in I Love You" because there was no fucking trace of it. Just some PR bullcrap to get a wider audience interested...

It does have trot influences.

YG says "reggae" and people think 2NE1 is coming out with a Bob Marley song. Seriously... it's INFLUENCED. It's gonna be a pop song with reggae elements.

As far as I know, the Koreans that heard ILY had mixed views about the trot in it so maybe it's in the way they sing it? IDK, I only know the oldfashion sound of trot. No idea if there is more to it. But I'm sure it was there for some Koreans to complain about it.

Well the trot I've seen sucks is weird. I guess it's a good thing they go full blown trot then lol. I'm sure many koreans don't read YG's media play though and didn't know it was supposed to be trot

that trot part they are talking about is the start of the song, the CL and Minzy's line .. if you try to hear it carefully there's a some kind of a korean instrument being played at the background.. I dunno if its really trot ..

The instrumental in the beginning, the way they sing it was very reminiscent of they trot-style. It's kind of the flow/rhythm that makes a trot song addicting when it's covered by modern artists.

I figured it was the beginning part lol. That's the only part that doesn't sound like typical pop

I started watching Attack on Titan this morning and it's so good :ahmagah: New favorite anime already

I'm eventually going to get far enough to be able to use the official thread in the anime section but probably too many spoilers for me right now. I can't wait until I catch up with everyone. Anyways I'm on episode 3 now so off to finish

Man I HOPE they do reggae for real. Because as cool as I Don't Care "reggae" was, the "reggae" in that song was incredibly watered down LOL. Lonely's "reggae" version was a bit better but still a little watered.

I hope this time when they say REGGAE they mean it, bass, keys and errthang. Even Super Junior managed reggae well when they did Walkin and it was mixed with pop, so if they can do it, 2NE1 MUST can do it.

LOL! what you say? keep expectation low from the start. Idk I guess because I've heard good Korean reggae before...just not in the realms of kpop.  I'm just hoping that in kpop when someone says they'll do reggae they mean it. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard Walking by Suju off the Mr. Simple album. That was some of the best reggae I've heard in kpop.

its not going to be full blow reggae sorry to disappoint y'all

its influenced pop

also this is just going to get merged into the 2NE1 comeback thread

Pretty sure most of us expect that.

2NE1's mostly pop with other genre influences. You'll be disappointed if you expect full blown reggae. They still need to appeal to the public. Can't say pure reggae is appreciated in korea.
